3 stars for the good value breakfast that they serve. 2 eggs, bacon, toast, home fries and a cup of coffee for $ 4.95 plus tax. I believe coffee refills are extra. Lately I have been a little underwhelmed with the portion size and quality of their food. My wife used to rave about this place, but they seem to have lost the way a little. I go regularly for breakfast, but rarely for lunch.

Walked by this place thinking it was just a american café until I saw the thai food specials for the day on a chalkboard. Ordered the green curry with chicken, and hot and sour soup. To my surprise, they were above my expectation. I was happy, so got a bubble tea on my way out :)

I was quite surprised to not find any reviews of Café Saffron on Unilocal. Some of you must be holding out on the rest of us. Now worries, I’m spilling the beans now. Café Saffron does a bustling lunch time trade. Thai and Chinese is in the menu. Take out seems the most popular although the dinning area is pleasant enough for small parties. The line ups at lunch can be right to to the door but the well staffed serving crew and taxes included pricing makes short order of the many regulars who queue up and exit in quick succession. Pad Thai and General Tao’s chicken are staples but other noodle dishes and Thai salads are also items to ponder over. I’ve sampled the soups and prefer them as the extra over the spring roll accompaniment even in this hot weather. Now that I have let the word slip about this place how many Unilocalers will back me up on this spot?
