This ramen restaurant is mediocre at best. There was not a single person dining here when we got here. My girlfriend and I ordered the squid balls appetizer and two ramen dishes. After our waiter took our order, we heard a microwave beep from the kitchen a few minutes later. We then heard someone take something out of the microwave and a minute later, our squid balls dish was served to us… Naturally, it did not taste very fresh, but we didn’t expect too much from a microwave dish. The ramen did not taste very«ramen like». The soup was very bland and the noodles were not very chewy. The entire time we were there, only one other customer came in. Our waiter was very quiet too, not only did she not say a single word to us when serving us, she did not even say thank you after we paid the check. We probably would not come here again.

The miso/spicy miso ramen here are really good, I’ve tried a couple of the other ramen and they are definitely not as good! I would definitely say the miso ramen is comparable to the miso ramen varieties offered at the Toronto chains. The pork that comes in the ramen is great, very flavorful and tender! My one complaint is I find the half boiled egg to be overcooked for my liking, and wish it was seasoned. The service is very good and attentive always, and they have a great special with 2 dumplings and ramen for a few cents more than just a bowl.

Not a lot of options in Ottawa for ramen. This place does just fine for me. I don’t just come for the ramen they have other great dishes too. The«don» bowls are a great alternatives.

I never had a good bowl of Ramen, since I’ve never been to Japan. This place has good tasting Ramen, at least for me. I got the spicy one, and it was SPICY~ the half egg was amazing! It takes skills to boil egg to a have a soft center. The pork in the soup were very good.

This place used to be decent, but changed owner(and name?) recently. Broth isn’t hot enough and full of MSG, chasu pork is just a slice of boiled meat that I couldn’t even call it chashu. noodles is so bad that I can taste the alkaline they used to make the noodles chewy. Oh, and they raised the price too, for the same place I can have a proper bowl of ramen at an authentic Japanese restaurant around the area.

If possible I would like to give 0 star for the food here. Service is not bad. let’s go back to the food. The bubble tea is a nightmare. The bubble tastes like raw bubble or a dough. The broth of the reman tastes just like salt water. Even instant food tastes better then this reman. The egg in reman is cold. I just eat one bite. First time here and last here!

Solid four stars for this place: clean, well designed space with friendly and efficient service. Definitely more of a «pan-Asian» restaurant than a dedicated ramen shop, but, serves the closest thing to «proper ramen» that I’ve been able to find in Ottawa. Nice selection of ramen bowels to choose from(I’d recommend the house special), and plenty of great side-dishes to choose from(the tokoyaki and korokke are must-eats) Until Ottawa gets a Wagamama or Momofuku, Taste is a good place to sate your ramen cravings.

2.5 stars I went in there with high hopes, thinking that this place is better than some of the Toronto chains like Kenzo(as suggested by others). Gosh I was hugely disappointed! NOWAY the ramen here is better than the Toronto chains, not even remotely close, let alone the«real» ramen restaurants such as Sansotei, Santouka, Kinton… etc. The noodle here tastes like instant noodle, the broth is also a meh. Maybe this place was indeed good two years ago, but I can certainly say as off today, it’s no real ramen. It’s probably not fair to compare this with those real ramen restaurants in Toronto or Vancouver, after all, it’s in Ottawa. I wasn’t gonna post this review ’cause I thought this was probably the best Ottawa has to offer, until I accidentally found an almost authentic ramen restaurant elsewhere in Ottawa. If this restaurant was in Toronto, I would’ve given it 1.5 stars. Considering it’s in Ottawa, and the place is clean, the staff is friendly, one extra star for that, total of 2.5 stars, rounded up to 3.

Their ramen broth is pretty awesome. Great for when you have a cold — like I did. Crispy chicken bites. Great stuff.

Ramen house in Ottawa? AWESOME!!! This place took over another Japanese restaurant. Honestly I wasn’t expecting much from this place as I’m really let down by a lot of Asian food in Ottawa. What makes awesome Ramen? The broth, it’s always the broth. It was slightly salty but not overly when I went. The noodles were decent as were the other items in my bowl. The portion is pretty large as well. I also got some fried chicken. It was slightly dry but it wasn’t overly oily which is my most hated thing with fried chicken so I’d take slightly dry over any bit oily. The place is renovated pretty decently. The staff though were super nice. I’d definitely come by for a craving fix! If you haven’t had ramen this isn’t a bad place to start… actually I think it might be the only place to get OK ramen in town. Thanks Jennifer P for making me aware of this place.

I think that this is the only place where you can get real(–ish) Ramen in Ottawa(if anyone knows of another good place, please message me). The Ramen noodles are delicious — curly and springy, just the way I like them. The broth is nice and opaque and full of flavour(although a little on the salty side for my liking). I would have enjoyed more toppings though, as I only got a few slices of meat. This Ramen here is so much better than at chains in Toronto like Kenzo or Ajisen, in my opinion. My only gripe is that it’s kind of expensive. I think it was like $ 12 for a bowl.
