Digby’s Restaurant

A family restaurant around Heron and Bank (by C-​Tire), it’s a great place to go for an east-​coast meal. Various types of fish & chips and seafood — it’s got great prices.
Everything we had was tasty and well cooked. Nothing fancy.
Would I recommend: Yes, to the right person. (Probably not the right place to send someone looking for a gournet experience — but a great place to send a family of 4 for a pleasant and affordable meal out.)

I recently went to Digby’s with my husband. Digby’s is a seafood restaurant that is similar to Joey’s Only (in fact, I suspect it is Joey’s Only except with a new name, as both the Bank Street and Kanata locations used to be a Joey’s Onlys, hmm…). Their prices are excellent and the food is great for the price. I had a fish sandwich and it was only $ 6.99 and came with fries. The fish was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It tasted like it was from frozen, but hey at $ 6.99 I’m ok with that — I wasn’t expecting top quality sushi-​grade fish! My husband had the salmon burger which was $ 8.99 and also came with fries. His burger was also delicious. The fries are just standard fries, not the shoestring fries that I love, but not the huge beefsteak fries that I hate either. Service was acceptable and what you would expect from this kind of restaurant with these prices. This is a very casual restaurant kind of like a Denny’s, but for what it is, I think it’s great :)
