This is, 100% my favourite dollar store in Ottawa. Hidden sneakily in the downstairs of Carlingwood Mall, I had bypassed it many times before I headed in with my bff for crafting supplies. WOW. I was so angry I didn’t get here before! I’ve become an avid dollar store shopper in the past few years(oh living on a budget and doing promo work!), and this place is a gem. A lot of dollar stores are messy and unorganized, but this place is pristine. The aisle are wide enough that you’re not constantly apologizing for crashing into people(dollar store goers — you know what I’m talking about). After literally combing through every aisle, Kelly G and I discovered some very interesting items, including wedding invitations(that were quite nice!), and lots of other wedding favours like bubbles, and invites, condoms(yes, they were brand name. crazy.), great mini-versions of brand name shampoos and soaps, great for the gym, TONS of awesome hair accessories, dog toys and leashes, fun costume jewelry, cleaning supplies, Betty Crocker kitchen supplies, a massive selection of fake flowers(perfect for making fascintors — woo!), lots of canvas bags of all shapes and sizes, rubber boots and flip flops, an amazing craft section, random computer accessories like usb keys and card readers, fun office supplies(like bumblebee pushpins and tons of fun notepads). They also have the mandatory junk food aisle with cheap pre-packaged food, but I can’t really say much about that stuff. It kind of freaks me out. I’m sure if you have kids this would be an awesome place to get their toys as well. They have an awesome seasonal section as well. Their Halloween section is AMAZING. I can’t wait for Christmas! Decorations, costumes and fun seasonal things like holiday socks and jewelry. The staff are helpful, if somewhat passive. If you’re a dollar store goer, hit this place up. If you’re new to this awesome bargain shopping — GETONIT. You’ll save yourself a ton.
