My husband, I, and some friends(another couple) had dinner here recently. I had heard great reviews about this place and how it’s a hidden gem, so I was excited to check it out. The food was ok, but too salty for my tastes, and service was polite and nice, but I found it a bit unprofessional. I ordered the mulligatawny soup($ 3.99) and the beef curry($ 10.99). My husband had chicken samosas to start($ 2.99 for 2) and his main was the chicken tikka masala($ 13.99). The other couple had the mulligatawny soup, garlic naan, papadums, beef curry and lamb bhuna. Those of us who had the mulligatawny soup agreed that it was too salty and it was mostly broth with very few chunks of chicken. I would not order this again. I had a bite of my husband’s samosa. It had chicken, peas and onions in it. The pastry was crispy and I would say that the samosas are better than what you get at grocery stores. The main dishes come with either basmati rice or plain naan. We all got the rice except for my husband who had the naan. The other couple got an order of garlic naan on the side. The rice was clumpy and a bit on the dry side. It was not fluffy, and it made me sad :(I tried a piece of my husband’s naan, and it was ok, but I’ve had much better. The good thing about the main dishes is that the portion size is large and there is a lot of meat. My beef curry was pretty good, other than being too salty. I had asked for«medium» spicy, but it tasted more like mild. That’s ok though, I’d rather have it too mild, than too hot for me to eat. The beef curry is the traditional Indian curry that is onion and tomato based. There are no vegetables in the dish. My husband’s dish had a lot of onions in it. He also asked for«medium» spicy and his was spicier than mine. It was ok tasting, but nothing to write home about. The other couple said that everything was«ok» but they didn’t seem too thrilled about anything. Our server was very nice and courteous. She came around to refill our waters unprompted. However, I noticed customers coming in and standing at the doorway for a long time before being greeted. The owner’s kid(or someone I’m assuming was the owner’s kid) was playing computer games behind a curtain and would yell out«customers!» when a customer would come in. We also asked for separate bills(by couple) and the server didn’t know who had what, so we had to tell her. In order to go to the washrooms you have to go through a room where the kid was playing computer games and there’s a curtain separating that room from the kitchen. Washrooms are clean though. The restaurant is not licensed. No alcohol. The Golden Tiffin is in a strip mall in Bell’s Corners. In the same strip mall as Thai Flame. There’s free parking in front of the restaurant. Overall, the food was ok, but there are many other places that I would like to try before I would consider returning here.

I never knew that this gem of a restaurant existed and was right here in Bells Corners. The owner is very kind and very helpful, he will guide you through this incredible food journey ! All I can say is that the food here is fantastic… I am salivating just thinking about it now! I tried the onion badgi and it was delicious. I also had some chickpeas and the spinach paneer dish with some fresh naan. Honestly, the food that comes out of this kitchen is made with love, and you can taste it! The flavours are incredibly authentic and will surely have you coming back for more. For all of you who love Indian and Pakistani cuisine, you need to come here. I know I will be back for more, as this is one of the best places I have come across in a while!

The good: — mostly Indian menu — great appetizers — spicy and tasty meat — naan is amazing — plenty of parking — the place is clean — host is friendly The bad: — during previous attempt to eat there, I stood for 10 minutes waiting to be seated, as young ladies were too busy with their businesses to even acknowledge my existence. Glad I tried again.
