I was passing by and chuckled at the name so I figured I’d give it a try. FOOD I ordered a large rare beef and chicken rice noodle in beef broth and my girlfriend ordered a BBQ pork pad thai with a mango bubble tea with tapioca. My meal was good however I was caught a bit off guard by the after taste of mint. Just not what I’m use to. My girlfriend really liked her pad thai however had a pure grisle pork part. We both shared the bubble tea. Tapioca was nice and chewy, the mango part felt like pure ice with mango flavoring. Not the best I had but I’d probably have it again just maybe not mango. All together I’d say I liked the food. It wasn’t perfect but for the price you pay I’m probably going to go back if I’m in the area again. PLACE It doesn’t look like much from outside but I’d have to say it’s a decent looking place from the inside. You are immediately greeted when you enter. The staff was very friendly. Seems to be a family run business.

This restaurant was close to the hotel I was staying at, so I decided to try it out based off the other place I wanted to go to(Mr. Phở) was closed. Ordered the deep fried spring rolls(4.50 $) and they were good but nothing outstanding. The plus was it wasn’t greasy. They have three sizes for phở — Small(7.95 $), Regular(8.95 $) and Large(9.95 $). I am not sure if this is average pricing but I’ve had cheaper back in Toronto. So I thought it was slightly overpriced. I got the Small phở with Raw beef and tripe. The broth was tasty, not overly oily but I did think it had a bit too much MSG flavour. The noodles were the thin kind and it was cooked perfectly. No complaints about the beef either. I tried the Iced Vietnamese Coffee(3.95 $) and it was powdery. Disappointed in how it tasted, the best way to describe it is it’s a combination of hot chocolate and coffee in powder form. Definitely would not get again. Oh and the vermicelli averaged around 12.99 $ which I think is crazy pricing. Service was good and quick. No complaints about that but you have to pay at the counter.

My fiancé and I decided to check this place out as we both had not had phở in a long time. The name of the place is really cute and had grabbed my attention immediately. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and sat. The place is small but seats a good number, but it was not very busy. We ordered two of the Deep Fried Spring Rolls to start and while I enjoyed them, they weren’t anything special. Just average, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I ordered a regular sized Rare Beef and Shrimp Chicken Broth Soup with Rice Noodles. My fiancé ordered the large Rare Beef and Beef Meat Ball Beef Broth Soup with Rice Noodles and we enjoyed both our dishes immensely. The soups were very flavourful and the fresh bean sprouts and basil sprigs they give to add to the soup is a nice touch. The only regret my fiancé had was that he ordered a large, which turned out to be too much for him. I am a huge bubble tea fan, so I decided to try the Strawberry Bubble Tea with Tapioca. My fiancé upon trying mine, ordered one for himself. While the strawberry flavour was excellent, I found my tapioca bubbles to be hard in the middle and not chewy/gummy like I’m used to, and it is this that is preventing a full five star review. Overall, my experience at I Cook Phở You was a good one and I will definitely be returning.
