Laziz Broast & Mix Grill

A friend and I had lunch here after a trip to Costco. I had intended to try the boasted chicken but I ordered the Beef Souvlaki $ 13.99 and was very pleased with my choice. My friend ordered the Tandoori Chicken $ 12.50 and he really loved it. The presentation was very nice, large portions and fresh ingredients. Every thing was excellent. This will be a frequent spot for us.

My husband and I came here recently for an early dinner.
We each had the 2 piece broast chicken combo ($ 7). Each combo includes fries, coleslaw, garlic sauce and a can of pop (although we never got any garlic sauce, but they gave us 9 packets of ketchup (yipee!), since I love ketchup and garlic sauce is usually fattening anyway, I was happy with just the ketchup).
The wait is long because they make everything to order. It was about a 20 – 25 minute wait.
The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside with a nice hint of flavour. I feel that the chicken is slightly better here than at Zaki’s Broast. Broasted chicken is supposed to be less greasy and oily than fried chicken, but I still found it oily. The best broasted chicken I’ve ever had was at La Hoyo in Halifax which is now closed :(I’m still looking for chicken like that…
The fries here are much better than at Zaki’s in my opinion. The fries at Laziz are hand cut and lightly seasoned. The coleslaw here is also amazing. It’s the creamy type which I usually don’t like but I liked Laziz’s coleslaw. The dressing is slightly sweet and they use purple and green cabbage, so it looks really colourful. There’s a nice crunch to the coleslaw too.
The older man who works here is very nice, but the younger guy was really indifferent towards us.
The place is clean enough, as are the washrooms. There’s sufficient seating and lots of free parking. It’s in the same strip mall as the Mark’s, Sushi Kan, and Eclipse Asian Cuisine.

The good, the bad, the ugly.
Good: fantastic tasting food! All the food is made to order, so it is guaranteed to be fresh when you get it. Go there for the chicken, whether broasted or tandoori. Flavorful, juicy, succulent. Fries are surprisingly good, would be fabulous in a poutine. Coleslaw is excellent.
Bad: takeout containers are not sealed properly. Coleslaw dressing leaked everywhere. Fries portion size was HUGE compared to the coleslaw and were soggy — can’t really be helped since they are sealed in a foil container with nowhere for the steam to go.
Ugly: took 40 minutes to get my food, when told it would be 20. I hate it when this happens, more so when I over hear it happening to other customers. Admittedly our food order was large, but if it’s going to take 40 minutes, or ever an hour, be up front about it!

I liked it for the most part, i ordered the beef fajitas and they wrent the best. The person with me had the tika chicken which was much better. Later we got a beef burger and that was amazing. The service is a little slow but its a nice quiet place to go and the fact that its halal makes it even better.
