Nothing wrong with this Harvey’s in particular. Sure, prices are too high, but that’s all Harvey’s locations. Sadly. I went in today and the restaurant was clean, the food was good, and the service was fine. No complaints. I am curious about these pop-tart ice cream sandwiches though…

Their commercials tout their burgers as being better than USA ones. As a US citizen, I disagree. The great Canadian burger had the flavor and texture of a pre-frozen boca burger(veggie burger), which is not a compliment. However the fries and poutine were good. The fried chicken burger is very tasty too. I like the idea of getting to select your toppings(like at Subway) but with a party of 6 people, which we had, our burgers came out at different times, and it was very disruptive to have to keep going up to request the toppings. The staff were really friendly and competent though and I’d probably go back for the chicken or original burger.

I came here for Harvey’s Free Hamburger Day, which entitled each person to a free original hamburger, dressed the way you want, though you could easily go to other locations for more. This event happens annually in May and the lines can get really, really long, but move much faster than you would think. You don’t need a coupon or anything — just get to you nearest Harveys and stand in line. There isn’t usually too long of a lineup on this day at this particular location, but some of their sketchier customers might deter others. This location isn’t the best — there are enough places to sit on an average day, though it is quite small and definitely not your cleanest. The people at the counter are usually high school kids that could care less about their job and are often found either chatting or just standing around. They’re never rude, though, and they do make your burger like you ask with all your custom toppings, and serve you fairly quickly.
