I was so excited when I saw that they had gluten free items on the menu. So I decided to go all out. I got the grilled cheese sandwich which was basic at best. Then I got the cheese fries. I know I gain like 7 pounds but it was so worth it. So good!

Essentially, this restaurant is a place to buy grilled cheese sandwiches that are way overpriced! The restaurant says that the grilled cheese sandwiches that they serve are«gourmet» but you could easily make these at home, no problem, and it would cost you way less… My husband and I ate here yesterday. Firstly, the line was very long(we ordered at 2 pm, well past lunch rush) and the orders were backed up, which meant a small crowd had gathered to wait for their orders to be up. I waited for 10 minutes before our order was finally ready. Secondly, we paid 25 dollars for two sandwiches! These sandwiches aren’t big… They have your typical bread slices with deli meat, maybe some other toppings, a sauce, and some cheese. I had a combo with a Coke Zero and a tomato bisque soup(which added an extra $ 2.50 to the total price!). The soup was okay, you only have one choice, tomato bisque, perhaps more variety would be better? As for the sandwiches, they were good, not great. As I mentioned previously, you could easily make them at home with the right ingredients. My husband ordered the Beef Brisket and I had the Jalapeño Ranchero. I gave this place two stars because despite being way too expensive, the sandwiches were good. Also, the staff were pretty efficient given the fact that there was a crowd of people waiting for their orders and they were friendly enough too. Would I eat here again? No, I would not. Too expensive for a grilled cheese…

Finally tried this place out yesterday. I was impressed with the selection of grilled cheese sandwiches you can order. I ordered the roasted vegetable sandwich(I think it’s called RSTDVEG or some other variation lacking vowels?). It was pretty tasty, but the combination of vegetables makes it a little runny, and the flavour is completely carried by the goat cheese alone. The lattice fries and the cherry shot in my Coke made it otherwise a very decent meal. I also like the variety of ketchups — a nice touch for a grilled cheese restaurant. They also wanted to charge me extra for a side of mayo. Tsk!

I like the idea of this restaurant, It’s very simple and creative as well! Taking grilled sandwiches to another level. They have so many varieties that can be a grilled sandwich like LASAGNA! I never imagined that would be possible. I like most of the sandwiches and they have a heaven dessert too. It’s one of my absolute favourite brunch spot in the Rideau Center food court. So delicious that everyone must to try at least once!

Pretty legit grilled cheese. For 5 bucks, you can get a classic grilled cheese, which comes with a deli pickle! Yum! You also get to choose your ketchup for dipping, regular, spicy or pepper ketchup. The grilled cheese was nicely toasted and the cheese extra gooey. It can cost you a pretty penny if you decide to get a drink and a side. Luckily I just wanted to grab a quick snack, and this did the trick. Solid 3.5 stars.

The idea of an all grilled cheese place is great — the selection is quite extensive. You can get mac and cheese, lobster grilled cheese, pulled pork grilled cheese… and it goes on and on. The menu also has the option for you to create your own grilled cheese sandwich. MLTDWN also has a wide variety of ketchup flavours and pop flavours. If there is anything lacking, it isn’t options. I have never seen so many pop options before in my entire life — I had no idea that Sprite came in different flavours. The price for the sandwiches are reasonable but a bit on the expensive side. I’m sure that MLTDWN makes their money off of their drinks, but for any food place, that’s not unusual. The food itself is solid but not spectacular. I’m sure«foodies» would not be impressed by MLTDWN, but for a food court eatery, it’s good enough. I’m sure once the novelty of a eatery that focuses on grilled cheese dies down, the lines will become more reasonable during off-peak hours.

Came here with my dad for lunch. Line was very so I saw that as a good sign. Waited about 15 minutes total for the food. My dad got the Mac and cheese grilled cheese and I got the lobster grilled cheese. We split both and had half of each. The Mac and cheese sandwich was BLAAAND and I hated it. My dad didn’t like it either, I didn’t even finish my half. It needed some seasoning or a dip or literally anything… The lobster grilled cheese was okay, it was actually overseasoned, my dad really liked this one. My stomach was actually bothering me the rest of the day as well, not sure for certain that it was the lobster but I hadn’t eaten much else that day so… Two grilled cheese and two drinks came to THIRTY dollars. Overpriced All in all I would probably never try it again

Even during non peak hours this place was buzzing, and for good reason, the food was delicious. I ordered the mac&cheese grilled cheese and was not disappointed. The multiple complementary ketchup flavours were a nice touch, the spicy ketchup paired really nicely. The menu is quite extensive and has very creative options, you can also opt to create your own custom sandwich. I can’t wait to go back to try the lasagna grilled cheese(with ricotta cheese!) and the pulled pork :) The only thing I would flag for improvement is that the service could potentially be a bit faster, there seemed to be many people in the kitchen however many were standing still but overall still a good experience and I would definitely go back.

Ermegerd, that was the first word out of my mouth after taking a bite out of my Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese sandwich. The line was very long at MLTDWN when we got to Rideau Centre’s Dining Hall even though we arrived before the lunch hour rush but it was well worth the wait. Despite the fact that the whole dining hall is only about a week old, MLTDWN must already have quite the reputation as it was the busiest place there. The menu has lots of sandwich options and in case you still can’t find something to your fancy you can build your own custom grilled cheese sandwich. There are also several sides to choose from including soups and different types of fries. They also have a few different dipping sauces you can order to go with your meal or you can have any of the three different types of ketchup they offer for free. each sandwich also come with a free dill pickle spear. They have an extreme variety to their fountain drinks as well. The food was tasty and I can’t wait to go back.

Today is the first day they’re open to the public, and the new food court looks pretty good. The line ups were a bit chaotic, but no worse than the old food court could be. The pulled pork drilled cheese was alright but nothing special, the pulled pork itself wasn’t dry, but also was fairly bland. The bisque was nice but I would be hard pressed to call it roasted red pepper and tomato. Could barely taste the tomato half of that, which is a shame because there’s nothing quite like grilled cheese and tomato soup. They have a staggering selection of drinks, I think it’s pretty much I think pretty much every shade of Coke on the market. I felt for what I got it was a bit slightly over priced but not outrageously so. I’m anxious to come back again and try something else once they’ve been open for a while and are in the swing of things.
