I wish I could give this restaurant 0STAR!! I ordered a salad a burger and TWOCHICKENFINGERS on JUSTEAT But when my dinner delivered! There was only one CHICKENFINGER! Although it is only $ 6, but it means the careless of this shitty restaurant and the burger taste so bad and full of onion! I don’t know what to say but just wanna say goodbye to this fucking restaurant!

I have SO many amazing things to say about OBJ. I’m really glad TD Place Stadium is now as busy as it is, because it means this amazing burger joint will be getting tonnes more business and even more people will have the chance to give it a shot. Okay. So the burgers, fries, onion rings, and beer selection are all on point. They have beef, buffalo, chicken, lamb, salmon, and veggie burger options, with a vast and unique range of toppings. Their homemade sauces are excellent and their house salad is worth choosing salad as your side(trust me on this one, please don’t upgrade to the Caesar — you’ll be missing out!). Also, their servers are super chatty and really friendly. The whole team goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable, welcome, and well taken-care of. I really cannot say enough good things about this place! I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised!

Great burgers(Canadian) style. Great service just prior to US match at Landsdowne. Our son had Bison burger and it was perfect, just wish our friends north of the border could cook burgers mex rare. Beer was ice cold!

I think this place was great. I have been to a couple burger restaurants like The Works and 5 guys but this is way better. Everything tastes homemade, the look of the inside is great, the service was good, and the new owners seem like they care. I went a couple months ago when they first changed the ownership and it was ok. Since then, they have changed their menu(and adding more to it again), starting having ‘chef specials’, they make more homemade things like gravy(so good), and added more appetizers. If you go, have a Sweet & Spicy burger with a Poutine. Best I’ve had.

Apparently this play has undergone a change of ownership and things seem to be improving(Based on previous reviews). Service was friendly and efficient, food was good. Fries were quite good! I would definitely go back here. There are lots of gourmet burger places in town these days. I would say this place can hold its own against any of them. Hope they can make a go of it, sounds like they gearing up for the Red Blacks, adding more TVs, patio, etc.

The location is pretty much the best thing about this place. The menu had spelling mistakes galore, the service was mediocre(I never found out if the soft drinks had free refills since our server only came back at the end of the meal), and the food was barely okay for the price we paid. We all ordered burgers, but customized our toppings, which our server mixed up — the person who ordered no pickles got pickles, the person who ordered pickles, guess what — got none. I would not recommend this place, as you can get a much better meal at Irene’s next door. Supposedly, this place is under new management, but it’s pretty hard to see how they could have been doing a worse job before.

The carrots, hummus and pita bread they give you to munch on while deciding your order is a nice idea, but the pita bread was cold – almost as if it had been thawed out just before serving – and the lemon juice preserving the carrots was pretty apparent. Shouldn’t really complain as it was complimentary, I guess. The server promptly took our order, which was good, but our food took some time getting to us. Not usually a problem, but I had class very soon after we were done paying. I ordered the veggie burger patty on whole wheat bread, which was very good. There are a slew of options you can add to your burger. I got tomatoes, mustard, lettuce and brie cheese. The bun was smaller and had lots of seeds. I actually preferred its small size. You could also order a side of fries or a salad. All in all, a pretty decent burger joint!

Good location in the Glebe on Bank and a cute décor make a great presentation. Inside, the waitstaff are great — friendly and helpful. Our experience fell apart a little bit with the food. We found everything to be *very* salty, including the sauces on the burgers. It seemed that most of the flavour was from the salt. For all of this saltiness, it was on the expensive side. You order the burger and everything else is an add-on for cost — including cheese! The one thing that wasn’t salty and maybe should have been were the onion rings. I noticed that other reviewers loved the onion rings. We found them bland and dried out. We love onion rings, but couldn’t finish our order between the two of us. Very disappointed as others had mentioned how great they were. Based on the rather complimentary reviews others are giving, I wonder if we just got them on a bad kitchen day? Would I return: Unlikely — In my opinion there are better and less expensive burger joints in the city I’d rather go to. Would I recommend: Not at this time.

OBJ is terrific. Five stars for service and food. Both were excellent. Loved the complimentary hummus and carrots as we considered the menu. If you like a lot of choice and don’t want those cute combos that somebody else thinks are good, this is your place. Beef, chicken, veggie, salmon and lamb burgers, three different bun choices, oodles of free toppings, nice selection of cheese and not-free toppings(guacamole, etc.), and a ton of homemade sauces. I had the homemade hot sauce on fries and tzatziki on my lamb burger. Very nice. If you’re not up to that much choice, there are a handful of pre-set burgers and toppings and, if you order on of these, they make a donation to charity — children’s hospital, juvenile diabetes, etc. Fries are crisp and made fresh. The onion rings and milk shakes looked terrific. Goat cheese beet salad was a great option as a side. Five guys does a great ‘juicy’ burger. Vera’s has a nice flame grill thing, but I think OBJ is my new sit-down swanky burger joint.

Nice atmosphere. My husband had a fantastic burger and onion rings. I ordered nachos and was disappointed. Hardly had any cheese on them and the sauce that came with it was just ok. They tasted like the chips they offer you for free when you arrive. Hopefully just growing pains. Will try again.

Nestled in between the Queen Mother Maternity store and the Glebe Meat Market, you’ll find Original Burger Joint. We dropped in on a whim for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant itself is small but airy with big windows providing a great street view. The kitchen is behind a glass enclosure and is visible from the restaurant which is nice. Complementary seasoned pita chips, carrots and hummus were served while we perused the menu. The menu is simply and lays out options for creating your own burger from a beef, chicken, lamb or a vegetarian patty. Fries and salad sides are extra. I had the lamb burger with tzatziki sauce and goat cheese and a side salad. Everything was great. My hubby opted for one the beef burgers and really enjoyed it. There was a decent selection of micro brew. The service was pleasant and efficient. Definitely one of the better lunch options in the Glebe.
