I came here after a friend recommended getting my nails done here. It’s also known as Crazy Nails by Dorothy. But, what an awful experience! I asked for Shellac Polish only(no manicure, just colour + shape), and the technician proceeded to give me a full-on manicure. The Shellac did not last me past one week. Would never revisit again — waste of $ 30+.

This place has Bad service. They never answer their phones and when they finally answer they ask to call you back and take your information bad never call you back. I have yet to visit considering it takes weeks to finally get an answer and appointment

This place is absolutely terrible. I paid for a year of unlimited laser hair removal, after 9 – 10 treatments there had been no improvement so I paid for a second year of laser hair removal. I’m now up to 14 treatments and there has been no improvement. On top of that the service is awful. Every appointment I’ve had they have been a minimum of 15 minutes behind schedule up till 40 minutes behind schedule. The one time I showed up 1 minute late to an appointment they’d decided to close up early so I had bused there for no reason. I use their online booking system and they would randomly cancel 7 out of my 8 last appointments on the day of. For the one appointment they didn’t cancel, I showed up and despite booking it weeks in advance they seemed to have no record of it. Meaning another 30 minute wait. Avoid this place like the plague.

I wished I had read the reviews here before buying a Groupon-like deal for this place. This all happened last year, so maybe they have cleaned up their act now, but I will never know because I will never go back. So I booked an appointment for a hair cut and low lights here. I show up for my appointment and stand there by the cash register because no one comes to greet me. After a while, the lady who does the laser procedures comes up to me and asks if she can help me. I told her I had an appointment for a hair cut and colour. She looks in the appointment book and says, «oh the hairstylist had a family emergency, you’ll have to rebook.» I asked her why no one at the salon had called me to let me know. She said maybe someone did call me and I should check my phone messages. I checked my phone, no one called me. I even double-checked to make sure that they had the right phone number written down for me. They did. At this point, I was pretty miffed because I took the bus all the way downtown for nothing. I should have just walked out. But I figured I give them another chance(plus, I had already spent $ 50 on the voucher). So I said I wanted to rebook. She said she couldn’t rebook for me and I had to call the salon when the hairstylist was working and rebook with him. An obvious glutton for punishment, I called the salon a few days later and rebooked. So I arrive at my rebooked appointment. The staff are chatting away, talking about their personal lives, and in my opinion behaving very unprofessionally. The hairstylist was there(thank goodness), and leads me to the chair. I tell him what I want. He goes on to tell me about all the fabulous training he’s received and how ultra prestigious the school was. I told him that I had a really good hairstylist who went to Marvel but she moved up north. He told me that his school is so much better than Marvel. While doing my hair he was also chatting with the manicurists and I felt that some of their topics of conversation were inappropriate in front of customers. So in the end, my hair looked good. No complaints about the cut or colour, but I would rather go elsewhere, where the staff are more professional, with less ego, and when appointments are cancelled, someone from the salon actually calls the customer to let them know.

Worst pedicure experience I have ever had. They are cheap so I expect less at places like this and that is fine; however, my cuticles were sore and scabby for three days after I left here and that is not ok. The worst of the experience was the completely unprofessional employees who were all hungover and quite vocal about their bar going experiences the night before and other times. My pedicurist basically ignored me the whole time except to complain about the nail polish I brought with me and remind me how hungover she was. The only good thing about this place is the massage chair. Do not go here.

Bought a LivingSocial deal for laser hair removal — needless to say I am still hairy. Poor equiptment and horrible technicians. I’ve had laser hair removal elsewhere with success. Avoid at all costs.

I decided to get my hair cut on a whim. It was a Thursday afternoon, after 5pm, and I did not have an appointment. I realized that this was not going to be an easy task. I walked down Bank street from the Rideau Centre, hoping someone would be able to squeeze a walk-in. I first tried going to the Hair Co-Op, but they did not have any availability. I decided to go into Redound. When I entered the salon, I asked how much a wash and cut would cost. I was quoted $ 35 and told that they could fit me in. I was asked to take a seat on a couch. I tried looking around for one of those books with hair cuts to be able to explain what I wanted done. I noticed that there were none, but instead many magazines. I waited around for 10 or 15 minutes and eventually told to go to the washing station. A blonde woman, who I later found out was the manager, washed my hair. She kept walking away to attend to another client who was getting her hair dyed. I found this to be a minor annoyance, but no big deal. She also kept complaining that my hair was greasy. I found this odd since I have typically been told I have dry hair but shrugged it off. After washing my hair, the stylist walked me over to her cutting station. My boyfriend accompanied me to help me explain the hair cut I wanted. Before he could even finish his description, the stylist interrupted him. She was rude, condescending and a little clueless. She had never heard of a Chelsea haircut. I showed her a picture of the hairstyle I wanted on my phone, and she made of the haircut, calling it «very ’80’s» and mocked me for wanting it. My boyfriend and I described the hair length I wanted. She asked me three of four times if I was sure. When she finally accepted what I asked for, she ended up cutting my hair at least 2 inches shorter than I asked. I asked her to keep the middle of my hair long, which she didn’t do. At the end of the hair cut, I asked her to blow dry it a little. She ended up feathering my hair, making it look nothing like the photo of the hair style I showed her. She did accept that the hair style was very flattering, which was nice. When I went to the cash to pay, the receptionist was on the phone and started serving me without hanging up. I was shocked to see that they were charging me $ 50 for my haircut. I understand that it costs more for a wash, cut and style than just a wash and cut. However, considering she spent maybe 10 minutes styling my hair and she didn’t style it the way I wanted, I felt ripped off paying an extra $ 15. I asked if there was any kind of student discount. The receptionist was too busy on her phone call to be able to understand what I was asking. She had to ask the stylist/manager. The stylist/manager gave me a very dirty look and a rude«no». Even though I tipped the stylist and my haircut looked good, I know I will NEVER return. The service was poor, the manager was extremely impolite, I didn’t get what I asked for and I was overcharged.
