Prime location, enormous rooms, nice breakfast and excellent service. We were upgraded to a corner room and it was so big it was like having a 1 bedroom apartment in the central part of Ottawa. Nice that this hotel is a short walk to the National Arts Center, City Hall and Parliament. Like that there is a Tim Horton’s in the same building and a Starbucks just steps away. If we are ever in Ottawa again, we would stay here again.

Quite disappointed really. To start, the location of the reception desk has got to be in the most confusing location I have ever seen. Who in their right minds locates it’s front desk on the fourth floor? That should have been the sign to turn back and walk away. Hotel does not have parking. We had to drive a couple of blocks to park at a public parking garage. Then walk back. Strike 2. Kids wanted to go swimming, and I wanted to relax in the hot tub. Which is out of service, till after we are gone. I wish I would have been informed of this, I would have chosen a different hotel. Likely the reason the hotel staff kept that a secret, strike 3, You’re out! I was very disappointed with my stay here. Never coming back.

Good location and updated property. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Location is pretty close to a number of restaurants although I didn’t walk around much given the freezing temperatures during January trip.

Picked the Marriott Residence Inn because of the kitchenette’s available. and had heard good things. Our visit didn’t start off smashingly. the room was not cleaned. at least from our perspective. We were told it was. but I made sure a supervisor came up to look. The bathroom looked like it had been used recently… and the kitchen wasn’t cleaned. They did give us an unexpected discount to make up for calling us a liar(essentially) which was nice. Other wise the stay was really uneventful. Tried to spend as much time outside of the hotel as we could obviously, and it’s central location in downtown was great for that. The free hot/cold breakfast’s in the mornings were great as well. I thoroughly enjoy a breakfast, and they never seemed to have exactly the same spread once, the whole 5 days we were there. A great spot!

Good customer service. Huge rooms perfect for long-term stay. But the floors or shower were never cleaned. Either was the microwave, which was the only thing that i dirtied in the the kitchen. Something hard and crusty was on my «beadspread.» Yep. That’s right. A bedspread is used at this type of hotel. My heat didn’t really work either, and luckily, it wasn’t that cold outside. Free internet was a bonus. The free breakie was also a bonus, as long as you didn’t get any of the scary fried foods. They had a waffle maker but no waffles, and I never saw the oatmeal. But the yoghurt, english muffin, coffee and pb sufficed. I am only giving this a three since it is exactly what I’d expect at this type of place. But I would only stay here again when looking for a kitchen in Ottawa, which won’t be any time soon, I imagine. Oh, I forgot to mention, my camera charger was unpacked only to never be seen again. So was that my fault or theirs? Maybe that’s between the charger itself and the child’s sock that I found under the dresser. 2.5 stars, overall.
