Slaysh is a skateboarding and snowboarding clothing boutique with some pretty pricey items that you can wear on and off the board (I’m so lame). They also carry shoes, boots, accessories and boards. I doubt you have to be a snowboarder or skateboarder to enjoy some of the clothing because most of it is really just everyday nice. However, I think you can only wear most of the items until a certain age and then you start to look like you’re trying too hard. Say, somewhere in your 30s?
Everything you buy here is sweatshop free. They also usually have a sales rack towards the back, if you want to save a few bucks.

I first came across Slaysh one night when my friend and I were bar-​crawling our way along Bank Street. What first caught my eye was the name. I couldn’t really make heads or tails of it and assumed that I had already had too many pints in me. Slaysh is a top-​end ski and snowboard apparel store and I assume that the name is some sort of slang that I am not hip enough to have come across yet. The store offers all things ski/​snowboarding — hats, gloves, goggles, shirts, scarves… they even sell cool headphones you can wear while shooshing down the slopes. The store is well located — the Glebe has just the crowd that would shop here — young, hip, fit and with lots of disposable income. That being said, Slaysh seems to offer only that top end, one-​of-​a-​kind merchandise that only the truly knowledgable could appreciate and afford.
