We were looking for a place for a quick beer before a concert and decided to try Pints and Quarts. I wasn’t expecting much — and was honestly surprised by how much I did enjoy it. It was A-OK! The décor is English pub, with a patina of wear that adds authenticity to its claim. Service was great, and we enjoyed the appetizer we ordered. This would be a great place to go with a group of friends for beer and conversation. Would I return: Yes Would I recommend: Yes.

Of all the choices walking along Bank Street toward TD Place Stadium, I am happy that I stopped in this pub. It has a great vibe with pleasant service. There was a local clientele that made me feel welcome and comfortable. There were some specials on the menu for the women’s World Cup going on and I chose the fish and chips. The meal was good, but the breading was a little heavy. I had a couple of 20 oz. Tank House Ales that went down smooth. This bar is a good value and a place I will go back to again when in Ottawa.

I’ve only had one menu item here, and I will ll only ever have this one item when I go to this place, it’s called the«Your Absolute Favorite» burger and it’s the best burger to ever pass my lips. I’ve had a lot of burgers in my lifetime, it just so happens that this local gem takes the cake for the best burger I’ve ever eaten, they have a way of transforming their beef into this«melt-in-your-mouth» experience that I’ve never had anywhere else… If you want the best burger in ottawa(and probably ontario) — go here now.

Stopped in here Saturday night. We were going to a party a little further up Bank Street and we hadn’t eaten(and we were going to a free bar!) so we had to grab something super quick(as we were already running late!). There were a few tables in eating and having drinks. And then a few people at the bar. Not packed busy by any means. I ordered the suicide burger with salad and the boyf ordered a chicken ciabatta thing with fries. Burger was delicious! Not the standard frozen burger some bars serve. You could tell it was made on the premises and it was cooked minutes before it appeared on our table. The suicide burger may sound v spicy hot but it was just the right level of heat actually. Did have quite a lot of jalapeños and banana peppers but it didnt blow you head off. The boys chicken ciabatta was also pretty good with a nice seasoning to the chicken. Bread was real fresh and hadn’t been siting out all day which i think you can sometimes find with sandwich buns at night in places. They skimped a bit on the fries, was enough but looked they a bit lacking in the plate. We sat towards the back of the pub but if we went back for food or drink we would prob sit in one of the little booths as you go in or in the bar area as they seemed to have more of a cosy feel. But this was really just an eat and run visit. We needed food, we got it. Service was good. Quick and non intrusive. And think the manager swung by to check on us while we were eating. Bank street is not an area we are often on and looking for food or a place we head for drinks but if at some point in the future we were, we wouldn’t hesitate to go here.

It’s really hard not to like this place. But that depends what you’re looking for, I suppose. P&Q is a a real bar/pub. What I mean by that is this place isn’t trying to be a Scottish Pub or an Irish Pub or any other cookie cutter, trendy establishment. It’s independent(the owner is almost always there) and they actually make their own food. The burgers are truly home made, and you can taste the quality. They have«deep fried pepperoni» which is exactly how it sounds and as delicious as you think. The owner is proud of the menu and it shows. Is the place run down? Absolutely not. It does, however, have a lot of character. There are regulars, but I’ve never felt shunned or unwanted. Quite the contrary — the service has always been top notch without being annoying and overbearing. On Tap, they have a decent selection — everything from Blue to Amsterdam and Beau’s. They won’t have everything you’re looking for as far as beer is concerned, but you”l definitely find at least a couple of options for everyone. If you’re looking for Milestone’s or Montana’s: Just keep walking. Otherwise, enjoy P & Q.

Our group was looking for a nice bar to check out after watching the Red Blacks game and we stumbled upon Pints and Quarts right at the heart of Bank Street. The bar was located near the front door and there were some tables close by, so we took a seat and were served right away. I was impressed by the large selection of items they had –from salads, sandwiches, and burgers to house favourites such as Bangers and Mash and Shepherds Pie. P & Q also had a wide range of wines and draughts to choose from, which we were truly grateful for as the temperature was well over 30 degrees on this late August day. I ended up ordering the Primo Cheeseburger with fries while both of my friends went with the fish and chips. We didn’t have to wait too long for the food as we managed to get in ahead of the crowd as the football game turned into a rout and we left a couple of minutes early to beat the traffic. The food was good for the most part, although one of my friends had to have his fish returned as it was undercooked; in addition, we had to wait over 15 minutes to get our bill when it was over, but after a long day in the sun, it really didn’t matter. The prices were reasonable and I would definitely go back there if I should happen to visit in the future. Pints and Quarts also has trivia on the weekends as well as live music, so be sure to check it out when you’re in town as I’ve heard there is a decent atmosphere there at night.

Great local pub! Amir, the owner, is very friendly and hard working. He’s usually around and happy to say hi and ask how your meal is. Honestly I can’t speak to most of the menu here because I get one of the burgers every time — they are really tasty! Heat Suicide is the perfect amount of spice. Decently priced, I just wish they had more craft beers. Not usually too busy so able to get a table. Can’t wait for Sunday trivia to start back up!
