I’m not a big wine fan, but wine is an easy gift, so I have come in here a few times buying gifts for people. I will recommend nobody set foot in this store. When I went last around Christmas time, they were spraying Glade in ridiculous amounts, like a complete and utter misuse of the product. I could not breathe, and had to leave. They got a new manager now, and she’s always spinning the«wine tasting» sign around and it’s going to hit someone and poke their eye out. She should be charged under Occupational Health and Safety, because she is going to hurt someone. She also treats her workers like shit, and a friend of mine say her calling one of the employees stupid and other names, and he just up and outright quit. I have absolutely no respect for employers who cannot even treat their workers with common courtesy. Do not go into this Wine Rack. Do not support businesses like this ever.

I had a previous review of three stars, but I have to say, having now upped the number of times I have popped in here for wine/cider I’ve got to dock a star. The last few times I’ve gone in the staff have seemed so fundamentally disinterested in doing anything other than ragging on other staff that I have multiple times almost walked out without getting anything. I know service jobs can be hard, I’ve done them, but this, is appalling. There are a couple staff that are super lovely, but the rest just really undermine any sort of pleasant experience I might have. Sorry folks!

Since this Wine Rack is inside of Hartman’s, it’s really, really small. They have a couple shelves and some against the wall, as well as a small refrigerator. They don’t have a very wide selection, but it’s good enough. I’m not a big wine drinker myself and favor The Naked Grape, but I really don’t know much else aside from that. After doing some grocery shopping, I thought I’d pick up something new. I asked the lady at the counter for some help, and she made many suggestions with both my personal taste preferences and price range in mind. She was very nice, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. She even made sure I got a bottle from the fridge so that it was cold. It’s very convenient when you’re picking up dinner on the way home, and they have really reasonable prices, but if you’re any kind of wine connoisseur, I’d suggest going to a larger store for a better selection.

The Wine Rack is basically my last resort or convenience wine store. If I happen to be in a grocery store, like Hartman’s, and I’m too lazy to go to the liquor store, I’ll pick up a bottle of wine here. However, the wine here is generally terrible, albeit cheap. They mainly have Jackson-Triggs, Sawmill Creek and Inniskillin, plus a couple other brands and some wine coolers. They have many types of wine(e.g., merlot, shiraz, sauvignon blanc), so you’ll rarely be disappointed that you won’t have an appropriate wine to go with your food. They often have sales and the employees have at least basic wine knowledge. You can also order wine online and have it delivered to your door, which is helpful, I guess?
