As impossible as it seemed with the huge selection of board games this place has, the game I was looking for wasn’t in stock. The fellow behind the counter offered to call me as soon as one was in stock — which was about a week or so later. The staff here are knowledgeable, eager to help, and it was a wonderful all around experience.

This a great little shop located near Bank and Somerset, and it can be hard to miss if you’re not looking for it. The store itself is pretty tiny, but it’s full of an awesome selection of board games — both traditional(The Game of Life, Snakes and Ladders, Chess, Checkers, Trivial Pursuit) and a great selection of newer games(tons of versions of Settlers of Catan, special editions of classics, Bananagrams) and a ton of great specialty strategy games(ha, shocking right?), like Loups Garous, Arkham: Miskatonic Horro and Diplomacy. I stopped by here to by my boyfriend a Christmas present last year and was really surprised with how much they managed to cram in here. The staff are really knowledgable and happy to make recommendations. I came here in search of a specialty chess set(read: the bf is a total geek, in the best way possible), and found a ton. I had a hard time choosing! The speciality games can be a bit pricey, but overall this place didn’t seem to over charge. I would absolutely go back if I was in search of a specific game, or if I was looking for something new.

My boyfriend and I have bought a few games from this store — Snakes and Ladders, Scrabble, and The Simpsons edition of Monopoly. For the size of the store, they have a pretty large selection of board games, puzzles and strategy games, collectible items, and even some books and videos. Some great finds include the original versions of classic games like Monopoly and Scrabble, and The Simpsons collectible chess board, for a whopping $ 1000+. This place is great for both looking and buying, and its especially interesting for those intellectual types. We found so many games and versions that we didn’t even know existed! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and we try to go back every time we’re looking for another game to add to our collection.
