Like some other reviewers, I would also give this place 3.5 stars as well. I came here for the first time this past Sunday, during that awkward time between lunch and dinner. It was hot outside but starting to cool down a little, so we decided to sit outside on the patio. There is some coverage closer to the bar/resto, and large umbrellas for the rest of the tables. Even though it wasn’t dark yet, they turned on the lights underneath the cover midway through our time there and I thought it might be a good place to go at night sometime. I stared at the menu a bit, not knowing what to get. They have more of a diverse selection of items than I had expected. I was craving wings, but when the server told me they weren’t breaded, I wasn’t sure I wanted them afterall. I asked what was bigger — the one pound order of wings or the bauletti pasta, and she said the pasta because it’s richer. I went with the pasta, of course. The bauletti was stuffed with roasted mushrooms and came with sautéed arugula, onions, and roasted red peppers in an Alfredo sauce, garnished with parsley and plenty of shredded Parmesan cheese on top, and two small slices of garlic bread on the side. It looked great on the menu, but when it first came, I was a bit disappointed in the size. It came on a large, rectangular plate, as our server said, and definitely 10 pieces or less, but more than I originally thought because they were hidden under the super thick sauce. It was misleading! It ended up being quite filling and a good portion size. As our server warned me, the richness of the sauce is a major factor — it’s much thicker than probably any Alfredo sauce I’ve ever had, so it might not be a good idea to eat every bit of it, like I did, as I felt far too heavy and greasy afterward. I found the sauce to be a lot more flavorful than the pasta itself. There were only a few thinly sliced roasted red peppers so as not to overwhelm the dish with its sweetness. The pasta was cooked to al dente, but I didn’t find the mushroom filling to be anything special. Overall satisfying, but too rich and heavy for a hot day, which I should’ve known! In addition to my ice water, I also had a glass of red wine sangria to help cool me down. They have both red and white, but they aren’t on the menu — $ 7 per large glass, if you’re wondering. It was really good, not too sweet, garnished with an orange slice and three maraschino cherries. The one glass was enough liquid for me at the time, but I would come back and order a pitcher to split it with a friend. Our server was polite and helpful. I think she gave me a funny look when I asked her to compare the sizes of the wings and the pasta, but that’s probably partially because my husband also asked her about the size of the poutine, so I don’t blame her. The place itself has a more upscale, updated look than in a photo that was posted here about five years back. All in all, I enjoyed the service, atmosphere, and food. Our bill came to about $ 45 for the bauletti, smoked meat poutine, sangria, and pop, so it was also affordable — fairly standard prices for a restaurant bar. We will definitely be back to try some of their other food items, particularly one of the appetizers or thin crust pizzas that looked really good.

I’ve been to The Brew Table twice now. The first time was for drinks and the second time, which was tonight, was for food. Overall, I felt that it was ok. My dining companions had a more favourable opinion of this place than I did. The drinks I had here a few months ago was with my husband and some friends. I had cocktails and they were unremarkable and pricey at around $ 9 or so each. Everyone else had beer. Tonight, I had dinner here with my husband and father in-law. We started with the Calamari($ 12) and the Crab Cakes($ 13). The Calamari was thickly breaded, but the breading was crunchy and the Calamari was tender and not too chewy. It came with 2 sauces but only the red pepper aioli was in a little bowl for dipping. The cucumber wasabi sauce was poured on the plate and the Calamari were placed on top. I would have preferred for both sauces to be in little bowls. The crab cakes(there were 3) were good. There was crab in there, but they tasted mostly of filler. The spicy mango sauce was way too overpowering and it was poured on the crab cakes, so you couldn’t control the amount of sauce. The sauce would have been better on the side. The sauce was really potent. It tasted like there was hot mustard or horseradish or something really strong in there. Definitely too strong for the something as delicate as crab. The crab cakes came with a tiny salad with roasted red peppers. The salad was good, albeit drenched with dressing. I got the Liguria Chicken Salad($ 16.50), which was mixed greens, grape tomatoes, cucumber, asparagus, bacon, feta and pesto rubbed chicken breast. It comes with an apple cider vinaigrette which I asked for on the side. Thankfully I asked for it on the side because the salad didn’t need much dressing. The pesto made it pretty oily as is. The ingredients were fresh and I liked that it was a true mixed greens salad and not mostly cheapy lettuce like iceberg or romaine. The chicken was way too oily and the salad was too wet as a result. The flavours were good but the flavours could have been retained with much less oil. My husband had the Beef Bourguigon($ 16). It was a stew with beef braised in red wine, onions, carrots, mushrooms and potatoes. It was served with bread. My husband really liked it. I had a taste and wasn’t as impressed, but in all fairness I don’t like red wine(so déclassé of me, I know) so it’s not a dish I would order. The beef was indeed tender though. My father in-law had the Beef Tenderloin($ 27). It came with roasted sweet potatoes, asparagus and portobello mushrooms. He also got a side of fries(I’m not sure how much they charged for this). He asked for the meat to be medium-well and he said it was cooked to perfection. He was very pleased with his meal. I got to eat some of the fries. They were thick fries but were crispy and came piping hot. Service was friendly. The place is a bit loud but this is not unexpected of a pub. Décor is a bit nicer than your average pub though. Overall, I felt that the food was on par with chain pubs/restaurants. My husband and father in-law felt it was a step above the chains. The Brew Pub is connected to The Days Inn hotel, so super convenient if you are staying there. There’s a parking lot with lots of free parking.

My wife and I had dinner here for the first time last night. We were looking for a different spot to eat. My wife had heard great things about The Brew Table from folks she commutes with from work. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and she had the beef bourguignon. Both dishes were quite good. The meatballs are handmade with beef, pork and veal and are seasoned just right: probably among the very best I’ve ever had. Staff was very attentive and polite and the food was served hot and quickly. We’ll be going again for sure

Great patio seat on a hot and sunny afternoon. The beer was cold and the food was fresh.

This is a solid 3.5 stars! Came here for a group Christmas party and had a blast. Waitress had her hands full and was not the freindliest, but I definitly let her catch a break and had empathy for her, as she she had quiet a few large groups on her hands that night. Décor was rustic and inviting, with plenty of booths for a more private dinning experience as well as large tables for parties Menu is narrowed down to about 3 pages, not incuding the drink menu. There is something for everyone: pizza, burgers, salads and soups. I went with the thin crust vegetarian pizza which was topped with red onions, peppers and goat cheese. Rest assured, if you are not a goat cheese lover like myself, they let me substitute the goat cheese for feta cheese.(yay)! While the pizza was cut into 6 slices, its not ideal to share unless you are sharing it as an appetizer. The pizza was good, but much preffered it cold. The hubby had the fish and chips, and while the batter was flavourful and the fish tender, he stated he has had better. Overall, this is a great place for events, as well as a date night and definitley would not decline coming back here in the future.

Great atmosphere, nice patio, bar staff are friendly. The menu is a little lacking and more expensive than one would like this far from downtown. The food is good tho.

It’s very much a local sort of place. Bar service is just terrible. Unless you’re a regular. I asked for a menu and waited 20 minutes for the bartender to come back. Bloody amateurs! Food and booze are OK(Leffe on tap) but otherwise a deeply forgettable experience.

A favorite hangout. Food and staff are great. Live entertainment is back on Thursdays. I like that there’s a seasonal menu. As a regular, it’s good to mix it up.

Went there with a crew from work for beers and appetizers and I must say the appetizers are great. We had nachos, chicken wings, an interesting bruscetta and a really good cheddar cheese dip with bread the exact name of which i forget(but it was my favorite). A worthwhile place to go. I will be back again. Once before I went with my wife and she remembers the dinner fondly as well.

The signs all say 20 beers on tap, but it seems like they are out of most. Beer prices are to be expected, the food is outrageously expensive for the small portions. Good clean bar though.

Ambiance: — — — — - Fresh and modern the Brew Table feels cozy and like some place I would want to hang out. The Bar area features generous seating, 42″ screens and an eclectic décor. The Restaurant has a modern country feel to it with padded seating at the tables and banquets on the interior walls. The lighting felt warm but is bright enough to see your food. The bulbs they use are wire filament and look really cool. First Impression: — — — — — — — Overall, the Brew Table is a great place to go from work or pleasure. The experience started with great service at the door. The hostess asked me where I wanted to sit and gave me the option of any empty seat in the restaurant. Once seated my server was at the table seconds after to take my drink order. Food: — — - I ordered the seafood chowder(to start) which arrived in a big bowl and included bread on the side. The soup was very flavourful and was the perfect temperature. Despite the couple pieces of rough fish skin that was mixed in. Rating = 5⁄5 My main course was the special duck confit served with mashed potatoes and stewed red cabbage. The duck was tender and full of flavour. Served on a nice big plate there was just enough room to move the food around. While the mashed potatoes were a bit dry the cabbage stew made up for it. Rating = 4⁄5 Service: — — — – As I mentioned the wait staff are on the ball. The restaurant is about 70% full and they all pitch in to help each other. Another server noticed my soup was finished and cleared the plate for me. The beer menu on tap was very generous and had brands I had never even heard of before. When I was trying to decide between two beers they brought over two complementary samplers of the beer in question. After my meal was finished and the plate was removed from my table my server just disappeared. I assume he went on break but no one came to offer coffee or another beer. Rating = 4⁄5 Final Thoughts: — — — — — — – Overall, my experience was positive and tasty! I will return again! To make the experience better, the server could introduce him/herself. My server also tended to hover in the middle of the room waiting for a table to serve. While this helped him provide better service, it was noticeably awkward.

Just finished a good meal here-looks beautiful inside-updates are very modern but warm and inviting. Service was just ok-so minus one star. Food was good-had the lamb shank, with fresh veggies –and lovely potatoes-I’d have it again. Never had carrots I liked so much.

One of the only updated and current places to eat in Bells Corners… Great pub food and atmosphere — huge patio — friendly service — always has a buzz in the place no matter what the time of day. The Unilocal map is slightly off — the restaurant is right at the corner of Moodie and Robertson in the north west corner of the intersection.

This is a great little spot in Bells Corners — recently revamped and they are out from under the D’Arcy McGee’s franchise… good menu, tasty food, great atmosphere… two for two so far.

Darcy McGee’s has a couple of locations in Ottawa, none being quite the same. And although the name is the same along with the theme, the experiences differ greatly. For the Bells Corners location you will immediately see that it is attached to a hotel. this is both a negative and a positive. Obviously the pub brings in people from the hotel, guaranteeing business, but few people want to make a night of it at some bar beside a random hotel. Remove the hotel from the equation, and we get to the heart of the issue: Bells Corners no longer has much of a night life, so after stopping by Darcy McGee’s for a few pints, where do you go? There is the Cock & Bull and Local Heroes, and that is about it. Darcy McGee’s itself is a great looking bar. Everything is finished in wood, the seats are comfortable and music is always playing in one form or another. They go to great lengths to keep the atmosphere fairly authentic and they do a good job. A couple of years ago Guinness and the owners of Darcy McGee’s(Prime Restaurants) held a bartending competition here. The food is a mix of traditional Irish food and classic North America fare. The quality is great, portions are big and nothing bad can really be said about it. Same goes for the booze. The bar is big and fully stocked. Beer, liquor, win, you’ll find it at Darcy McGee’s. If it wasn’t for its poor location, this decent pub would be something really popular.
