Nice place and ambiance. The salmon dish here I had was delicious. Great music and the service is excellent. Nice drink list and the art from local artists displayed on the walls for purchase is a nice touch. This is a really nice, classy place.

A great little spot in Ottawa. I went there for both their Sunday brunch and Martini Wednesday specials. The martinis are extremely tasty and the brunch is great(especially for a place that serves brunch one day out of the week). Aside from the tasty martinis, I was looking for a place to have brunch and mimosas. THIS is the place for brunch and mimosas! I would definitely recommend this place for mimosas and brunch on a Sunday in Ottawa!

It was an amazing dining experience with my wife at this restaurant. Looked it up over the Web, read some reviews, did a reservation and arrived there for dinner. Was impressed right from the get go. The greeter remembered talking to me when I had called earlier, and very warmly greeted and guided us to the table. Then our server ‘Scott’ came and took over for the rest of the evening. An amazing guy who kinda knew what we would like and we let him take over suggesting the best cuisine, and boy we were not disappointed a bit. Right from the starters to the main course to the beer to the dessert, he was spot on and so very courteous. For the main course my wife ordered ‘Padano dusted chicken’ and I ordered ‘Varutharacha chicken’. The Padano chicken was a bit dry and when we told Scott, he replaced it with a deliciously juicy grilled chicken with a hint of lime and sweetness. OMG. It was WOW. My dish was a bit bland at the start but when I dug into it it just blew me away. I would definitely recommend the spicy version of this dish. The service was absolutely impeccable. I would highly recommend this place to all. Beautiful ambience, beautiful food and amazing service. Keep it up Buzz. Thanks for the wonderful evening.

Every time I’ve gone to the Buzz I’ve had such a great time. I love the art that’s always displayed, the music, etc… The atmosphere is just wonderful. The servers are always friendly, fun, and know what to recommend! I ordered the coconut shrimp to share with a friend and it was sooo delicious– definitely a favourite! Also– the very best cheesecake in the world! It was chocolate and peanut butter, probably the best desert I’ve had in Ottawa.

Its one of our favorite places to eat and drink. Never had a bad meal here and the service is great. Sun — Tues you can bring your own wine with only $ 5 uncorking fee which goes to charity. Great place!

Buzz is a great space. Be careful to make a reservation though! I ordered the chicken club with brie and was quite happy.

I’m a big fan of The Buzz! I’ve been here a couple of times for brunch and dinner and drinks, and they haven’t disappointed. The space is smaller than I originally thought, so unless you’re booking the whole restaurant/bar or making a reservation well ahead of time, I wouldn’t suggest it for big groups. I used to walk by it pretty regularly and always thought their menu, which is posted outside, looked pretty good. They have specials every night, including $ 5 martini night Wednesdays and $ 6 mojitos on Thursdays — we’ll have to go back for that! They also have bring your own wine nights from Sunday to Tuesday, with a $ 5 corkage fee that goes to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation on Sundays. We finally made it here for the first time for brunch, mostly because we wanted to try a new place and heard a bit of BUZZ(haha yes, I’m that cheesy) about this restaurant. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and a mocha. The eggs benny come with roesti potatoes and not hashbrowns, which were crispy and a flavorful, a nice little change from the standard. The plate also had a few pieces of fruit, which wasn’t stated on the menu, but I thought was nice and ended my meal on a fresh note. It was all quite delicious, including the mocha, which came in a huge bowl. When I visited the second time, I ordered the Lobster Ravioli with rose sauce. The five pieces of striped ravioli came with just the right amount of sauce, topped with shaved parmesan and scallions. I thought the price of $ 26 was a bit steep for the amount of food, but it was tasty and I wasn’t hungry. My girlfriend couldn’t finish her Ahi Tuna Nachos, so I had a few of those as well. They weren’t blackened like the menu said and quite light on the cheese. The nachos were okay, and cheaper, but I liked the ravioli better and was satisfied more with that. I also ordered a Banana Cream Pie martini, with banana liqueur, amaretto, Baileys, and cream, with some whipped cream and a crushed graham cracker rim. I must say that this was the showstopper, the highlight of my visit! I will boldly say that it was the best martini I’ve ever had. ever! Not too sweet, not as thick and creamy as you would think, and just the right amount of banana flavor. It didn’t taste like alcohol at all, which can be quite dangerous for people drinking more than one. I can still taste it just thinking about it. Hopefully their other martinis are just as good, but if you’re feeling like a drink that isn’t fruity, carbonated, or tastes of alcohol, or looking to get a fancy drink instead of dessert, try this one! The Buzz is sort of a hidden gem in Centretown, in my opinion. Not sure why I’ve only been twice, but I would absolutely go again!

Small portions on the menu but tasty. Drinks were well-priced. Dress: business casual. Crowd: young and modern.

The two chefs there are amazing! One is from the carribeans, and other from india = amazing mix of flavours! The service was also excellent both times we went, although there weren’t many people so we might have been outside the peak hours. Also: BYOW makes it even more affordable! One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Ottawa.

The Buzz is an awesome little hole int he wall in downtown Ottawa! It doesn’t look like much from the outside, and inside has a bistro feel, complete with exposed brick walls, and aged looking floors, yet the Buzz really should be abuzz(see what I did there?!) with customers. Let’s be honest, local fare in Ottawa tends to be phenomenal. With the artsy culture, and many different types of food available across the board, it’s no wonder than the food at the Buzz at least matches that of the fare around them. I think though, it SURPASSES most of the food in the area. I had the salmon on a bed of yams with seasonal veggies. My fish was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and reflected some of the best food I had in Ottawa while I was there. My sister had the steak on yam frites, which she said was also exceptional. Beyond that, our server knocked it out of the park. She made awesome recommendations(we shared the crème brûlée on her advice and weren’t disappointed), chatted with us, and even helped us to know which sites really were must-sees in Ottawa. No doubt, next time I am back in our country’s capital, I will return!

Another Ottawa wine bar that offers BYOW! Although, their wine list is so great and affordable I would almost say don’t even bother! Right in Centretown this cozy little bistro is great for a romantic dinner as well enjoying good conversation with friends. The bartenders are incredibly friendly and the service is nothing short than excellent. My wine suggestion; E Minor Shiraz with the Woolwhich cheese and garlic affair. :)

Wednesday nights amongst my group of friends is now known as ‘martini night’ as we head to The Buzz. Great service, cool atmosphere and 5 dollar martini’s on Wednesdays. The martini selection is huge and everything is delicious. The wait staff are extremely friendly and attentive. We never seem to have an empty glass on the table. The fresh baked bread you receive is a nice touch and the appetizer menu has some great choices(try the calamari!). All in all, The Buzz is a great choice for drinks and apps in a chic bistro style spot.

Loved the atmosphere, service and the $ 5 corkage fee Sunday through Tuesday. The food was good — nothing special but solid. I’ll try Buzz again but it’s not at the top of my list of restaurants to revisit.

I’m not a huge fan of their food — it’s good but it’s nothing spectacular but I certainly give full approval to their drinks! They make pretty much any martini or cocktail that you want and have a great list of them. Most of the martinis come with candy(often a gummy bear in the bottom of the glass). I find myself pacing myself not to finish the drink just to get to the candy. Does that mean I have a candy or drinking problem? Or both? The atmosphere is really cozy. The restaurant is long and narrow and often lit dimly with candles. There is decent space at the back if you arrange a group to meet there or if you have a small private party. This bar is very gay friendly as it’s located in what locals are trying to kick start as «Ottawa’s Village» on Bank Street. Now I just want a Buzz martini :(

Came here on a cold, snowy Saturday night for a birthday dinner based on the recommendation of the birthday girl’s friend. There is a great selection of drinks from martinis to wine. I had the 2 oz. Lychee Martini, which was awesome. If I wasn’t going to a party after, I would have ordered another one… just because. We ordered a variety to items and I had the pleasure of trying a little bit of it all. Appetizer: — The chickpea fritters(falaffel) were mediocre; the texture of each were quite different ranging from rock hard to mushy. Consistency is key. — The calamari … you don’t have to be a Wolfgang Puck to make it well, but it was pretty good. — The mussels were in a curried sauce, but it was quite bland… there was a hint(a weak one) of the curry spice. Main: — The ceasar salad was great. Instead of the usual processed bacon bits that you find in stores, the bacon was freshly prepared and square shaped. — The chicken curry w/basmati rice was … meh. All I could taste was the coconut milk. A fail. — The angelhair seafood pasta was probably the best out of all items that we ordered. Full of seafood, the pasta sauce was also delicious. I used to live in Ottawa and have a sibling living there now … I’m still looking for a resto that is delicious yet reasonable. The search continues…

The Buzz is a really great space complete with a fun bar and interesting, local art hung all of over its walls. Our waiter was ever-attentive. He checked in on us frequently, got everything(sometimes too) quickly and was really knowledgeable about what he was serving. He described what we were getting from the freshly baked bread to the spring rolls which are made offsite by a woman hand rolling them in her apartment. He also cared to point out that Buzz makes the sauce and the slaw on the side that some people ignore, but we should eat. Most appreciated was when my dad attempted corny jokes and the waiter fended them off with a little humour of his own. The bread was warm and delicious with sundried tomatoes running through it and herb butter on the side! The spring rolls were very fresh too but the slaw on the side was a bit puny and could have been left off the plate. I had lobster ravioli with mushrooms, green onion shredded on top and an all-star rosé sauce. It was a good-sized portion and just rich enough. I’m sure a sommelier wouldn’t have recommended the Mill Street Organic I had alongside, but whatever, I liked it. Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their pecan veggie burgers but they must have been jealous of my yummy pasta and the huge square plate it came on. I was stuffed but dessert was ordered so I had a few spoonfuls of a berry apple crumble that was a perfect way to round off the meal. No wait, the perfect way to round off the meal is a walk around Bank Street. Which is just what we did when a waitress came running down the street with the sweater my dad forgot at the table– now THAT is service.

The Buzz is a new bistro-like restaurant on Bank street that certainly is eye-catching; high-ceilings, brick walls, and a chic New York City-like interior that is often frequented by young professionals and public sector employees. What’s cool about this place is that the menu is not static, many of the items change along with the seasons and the latest in culinary tastes. One constant that is there is the ‘Buzz steak frites’, which involves a 6 oz. steak covered with sweet potato fries and fresh market vegetables. This is a house specialty and very good. I was scared that seeing the interior the prices would be absurdly expensive, but thankfully there were somewhat reasonable. However, I was in the mood for a burger, but not prepared to pay $ 15 for one! The salads were good though. The service could have been more attentive and more efficient, particularly since it was not very busy at the time. We had to get up and search out our server to ask for something, and again at the end to ask for the bill. Overall it’s a cool place to check out, and their Sunday brunch is apparently really good.
