The Diner

Two stars for the atmosphere and service, which were both nice. Service was very quick and friendly.
The food (we both had French toast w/​sides of strawberries, banana, & bacon) was mediocre at best. For «famous» French toast, it left a lot to be desired, mainly in the flavour department. Nice and fluffy bread, but was more like eating an egg with bread underneath than any flavourful French toast I’ve ever had.
Also, $ 3 for a couple strawberries, $ 2 for a banana, and $ 2 for a few strips of bacon seem extremely pricey to me.

The Wellington Diner is a great place. Being a big fan of Eggs Benedict, i’m an even bigger fan of their «specialty benedict» they have weekly. The wait staff are great, and get to know you and your order if you go there often enough.
Definitely one of my picks if you’re in the Wellington Village area and looking for breakfast.

Good old fashioned diner food. Nothing stellar but always dependable. California club is recommended. Décor is good. Kinda pricey for what it is.

The Diner is the type of place you want to like as soon as you see it. The outside is modern and appealing, as is the interior. Still, I can’t give this place a great review.
It’s not a bad place for breakfast or brunch, but it isn’t anything special either.
The food is, well, not bad. You would think being in the Westboro area the quality of the food would be a big focus since customers are paying more for each item and many of the customers are yuppies who don’t put up with sub-​par food. I’ve been there numerous times and I have had good meals, and just plain bad meals. The food also lacks imagination. They do a few twists here and there, but it isn’t anything that keeps you coming back.
It’s a big place, with two floors, so getting a seat doesn’t often take too long. It gets really busy and a wait should be expected, but it is usually closer to 10 minutes than an hour.
The service differ es widely. I’ve had good servers who are on the ball and others who dint’ know their ass from their elbow.
I would say if you’re driving by, give it a shot, but don’t make a special trip.
