If you need Indian ingredients in Ottawa I have a hard time believing you won’t find them here. It’s relatively close to the 417’s Bayshore exit. This is, in every way, an ethnic grocery store. It is just packed with stuff and if you prefer the big, wide aisles and spacious displays of a Loblaws or Farm Boy you might not be comfortable here, but just know this might be the only place you’ll find some ingredients. There are whole aisles of spices and dry ingredients, beans and lentils, rice, pickles and pastes and various Indian beauty products. The frozen food selections are extensive and so — notably — is selection the fresh produce, including fresh spices. The staff were friendly and offered to help me, but I knew what I was after, which was Kashmiri chillies(which they had and I found easily — finally!) and paneer, of which there was a selection. They did offer fresh samosa but as it was French for dinner that night and Indian the next I did not take them up on this visit — I’m sure we will in the future.
