I’ve been coming to this salon for a few year’s now for a shampoo, cut and blowdry. It’s pretty pricey(approx $ 60) depending on the type of stylist you choose(junior, senior, etc). However, there are great student discounts(approx 20%) on multiple nights of the week so I usually am able to get a cut for around $ 40 which is pretty reasonable. They give head massages with the haircuts!!!(super awesome!) but I feel like the head massages have been decreasing in quality(lack of pressure and time spent), though I know the main focal point is the cut: p(I have never gotten these at other salons). All stylists are super friendly and they keep track of your appointments and what you had done and store them in a database. i had a very junior stylist once and she would have the senior check the cut after she was done, I guess you could see this as a good/bad thing but I felt like I was getting higher quality service for free! :). I have Asian hair, and I would say that I was never that impressed with their blowouts… I could do better myself. Overall I’ve had a very pleasant experience(clean, offer you tea, and they also offer you the choice to put on some makeup at the end which is kinda cool). It’s also nice and quiet and gives you that spa feeling which I don’t get at salons in malls which have similar price points :) I would recommend!

This is where I go and think about nothing but myself for about an hour or so. Everybody here is friendly without being overbearingly so. I don’t feel as if somebody is being over-the-top nice, or that I need to buy a bunch of Aveda products. I’ve been to places where I’ve heard horror stories about what will happen if I don’t use a certain product, or how this shampoo will make my hair glisten like a unicorn’s mane(okay, maybe not like a unicorn’s mane), and anything else is inferior, blah blah blah. If I am asked about what I use, it’s with a care and consideration that makes me feel as if they’re actually trying to help me look my best. I’m always happy with the end result, and that the stylist I see often recommends things that I didn’t think of and that always end up looking great.(Dear Kelly: Thank you for bringing in the swatches and preventing me from going too light on my last visit. :D) Oh! And I always leave with a style that I can reproduce at home that’s fitting with my daily routine(i.e. not a lot of product or styling implements). As for price: I don’t know if it is, as another reviewer stated, «way to [sic] much for the location,» but it is very reasonably priced for an Aveda concept salon. All in all, I’m happy to have found this place, and will, of course, continue to go here.
