Chameleons

Everything we had from appetizer to dessert was great! Stuffed mushroom cap and the bisque were lovely. The pork back ribs and lamb shank melt in your mouth and had great flavor. The server was attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend this place. Don’t be scared away just because there weren’t many other patrons around.

Thanks to Unilocal with found this nice restaurant! What a treat, great food the wine was an excellent Chilean one! and excellent service. A quite but charming little restaurant in town.

My husband was skeptical as there were no other guests but it was so amazing!!!
I wish more people knew about this place. The server is such a delight, the food is mild, refresh and soothing. It’s not salty/​hardy. Nice and light. The specials were great.
Definitely will be back!

This review won’t speak to the food here as we didn’t eat here. We did look in as we were trying to find somewhere to eat as a family. It looked great, but did not have a children’s menu. The hostess was extremely helpful and told us where she likes to go with her kids and steered us to a much more kid-​friendly establishment. She was extremely helpful and polite. If my wife and I find ourselves in Parksville without our children we will definitely give this spot a try.

Great find in a small town! Menu selection was small but everything was delicious. Great salmon and stuffed chicken with delicious veggies. A bit of a quite place (i.e. an older clientelle) but service was friendly.

We stumbled upon this restaurant when we spent one night in Parksville. Restaurants seem to close early there, so when four of us walked into this one at 8:45pm, and the owner said «yes, we’re open» with a bright smile, we were happy. The owner came to our table and engaged us in very great conversation. The place was clean and well laid out. The food was absolutely delicious, the sauteed/​roasted veggies were perfectly done. Salmon perfectly seasoned and cooked. The veggie stir-​fry was well thought out nicely prepared and seasoned (not just a pile of bland veggies). The fall-​of-​the-​bone sticky ribs were delicious. The owner was a delight and his service was warm and friendly. This is a good restaurant. Recommend: better signage to draw attention to it.

This restaurant is a little hard to find if you’re just driving by on the highway as it’s tucked inside a small shopping strip, but inside it’s very cozy and the food is excellent. They make everything in-​house and the hostess said they source 70% of their food from Vancouver Island. Locavores take note! I was amazed to hear that included the bison in the Bison Stroganoff (which was excellent and very different). The mushroom risotto was very flavorful and a little peppery.
They were very family-​friendly as well.
