Soupcon

Every day, I walk my dog past the kitchen door of Soupçon, and we’re both inclined to run in and dive head first into the pots. With soups changing daily and so many ethnic styles, there’s something for everyone here. There seems to always be a vegetarian/​vegan option too. Some examples of soups that I’ve tried and loved: sopas aztecas, Thai green curry, tomato with dill, coconut pork, bacon and barley, just to name a handful. In addition to being flavorful and fresh, you get delicious warm beer bread or baguette with every bowl. And the best part? They’re dirt cheap! An extra large soup (easily enough to feed 2 – 3 people) with bread comes to under $ 13! One caveat: stick to the soup. I’ve tried their tandoori chicken sandwich and I found it sloppy and lacking flavor.

Soup is fantastic and the price very reasonable. Beer bread is also amazing. Very limited seating and they take cash only. Be prepared. The place is full of bearded grizzled hipsters and dreadlocked vegans, but don’t worry, you’ll be OK, service is prompt and friendly, check on Facebook ahead of time so you know what you want, get in, order, and get out.

We are from away but if we hit the big city we have lunch at Soupçon. Yesterday my Mom who is 95 years young had the yummy Sweet Potato Soup with Curry. Well today she was very mobile and had less ache. We did a google search and found out about sweet potato and curry benefits. This soup spot is our secret. The place
was buzzing with people so I guess
someone told someone else about this healthy restaurant. If you have never been give it a try.

Fantastic! Great value and variety. Love the daily Facebook listings of their offerings. Beer Bread is out of this world!

I am always satisfied with lunch at Soupçon. They consistently offer a large selection of delicious vegetable and meat based soups served with homemade bread.
Cash only. Regular size soup with bread comes to less then $ 5!

This restaurant is amazing. The soup selections are varied and delicious. The beer bread is something to write home about! Get there early to get a seat or take it out and eat elsewhere.

Soupçon is a quaint lunch spot in downtown Peterborough. The delicious smells of their soups of the day waft right out the door and onto the street. They always have a chalk board out front listing what’s simmering on the stove for the day as well as a listing on the side of the building. Soup is served with your choice of a baguette or beer bread. I choose the latter. Many folks stay for their lunch break but there is also a constant stream of folks picking up a to-​go order.
If you’re a lover of all things soup I highly recommend!
