Sushi Express

My go to sushi place in poco! I usually get it to go. The restaurant itself is nothing special, but the food is delicious! It is also incredibly fast and the owners are super sweet!

We ate in at this small sushi joint. Looks like it’s more geared towards take out. Prices are good and sushi was decent. I would order from here again.

Went here based on Unilocal reviews and left totally disappointed.
Miso was tasty but green onions were too sharp. Could be the time of year though. Lots of onions are sharp /​pungent this time of year.
Sunomono was unusual. Had loads of salad veggies. I liked really liked it.
Gomai was smothered in sauce, but tasty.
The issues really started with the fish.
Tuna was slimy and fishy tasting. The freshness of the tuna is how I judge sushi places and this tuna failed big time.
There was the fake crab in everything including the dynamite roll. The menu did not mention the dynamite came with it, usually it doesn’t, so I could not opt out.
We ordered the Heaven roll with fresh crab but they left the nasty fake crab in it too. They also added a $ 5 fee for real crab, but on the menu the difference between real and fake was $ 2 or $ 3.
I am totally sick of people calling flavored fish sticks crab. I know everyone does it but it shouldn’t be allowed. It is false advertising. Okay back to this particular restaurant…
The service was better once the daughter came in, but we never got more then one cup of green tea and the first we had to request. No water either.
There was one other table that came on ½ way through our meal and they were acting like it was swamped in there.
Anyway the short of it is I will never eat here again and I would not recommend it to anyone.
The $ 70 would have been spent on groceries.

Our first experience here wasn’t great, but we gave it another chance and have been pleasantly surprised to find that that was an off day. Now we come back regularly and we recommend dinner vs lunch and the beef over the chicken. The Special combo 1 is our go to dinner! Great prices, nice people.

Hands down the best sushi I have had. Great prices, and even better food. The spicy combo is truly spicy, unlike other places. Everything we ordered was amazing and had excellent flavors.

If I could give this little gem (sparkly diamond) a 6^th star, I would. Probably the best sushi I’ve ever EVER had on the entire west coast. And yes, I have eaten at every sushi spot there is.
We tried this place, because of the Unilocal reviews, and we will be back probably once a week.
Everything is made fresh to order, and you can tell that everything here is home-​made and hand-​made. It’s as authentic as you can get. Mom and pop shop that we need to support!
Lunch specials, and ask about the Big Deal Combo 1, 2, and 3! Can’t beat it!

I would like to consider myself a sushi expert in the area and this is the place I go to multiple times a week. Awesome prices, great combos, simple menu, and decent quality considering the low price. I’ve gotten excellent service every time I go in and I also have yet to order something I didn’t like. Their veggie sunomono is my favourite, get it every time I go! They deliver too which is handy. Worth a visit if you live in the area!

Very friendly and great service. It’s close to home so I’ve tried the sushi a few times and every time the sushi rice has been too salty or there is something that’s really salty in the rolls! I can’t figure it out but if they can get that fixed then their rolls will be much better and I will try them again!

Sushi express just opened very close to where I live, it is delicious and reasonably priced. I love there spicy combo! All there speciality rolls are very tasty as well.

New to PoCo from downtown and we are happy to call this our new sushi joint ;) Fantasticly fresh, perfect size portions, lots of yummy special rolls and so reasonably priced! You can tell they take pride in their restaurant and food. A must try for sure.

Wow!!! Must eat here!!! Best sushi in port coquitlam and coquitlam. I have eaten at many places and nothing comes close to this place! Great value, great food and great experience !!! Very fresh, high end taste with value prices! Must eat the Crispy Crunch Roll !! Crazy Roll! Kamikaze roll! Baked salmon roll! And the list goes on! Try everything .it is just so great!!! They offer lots of specials too if your on a budget! I would highly recommend trying a adventurous roll while your there. you won’t regret it ! Also they offer delivery over $ 30! Enjoy!
