The food was below average and the prices are really high because they only cater to the tourists. Our pizzas were underwhelming and soggy.

We ignored our own advice to never go in to a restaurant on vacation where an employee stands outside to recruit customers. It never works out for us. We figured with a name like L’omelette, however, it had to be good for breakfast. So we allowed ourselves to be taken in for our first breakfast in Quebec City. Let’s just say that the omelettes do not live up to the establishment’s name. What you get here is more traditional American breakfast fare in a casual, campy French setting. The servers are pleasant, but the price we paid was way too high for the quality of the food. Stay away from the herb omelette, which is utterly tasteless, and do not be big shots like us and order the mimosa«special.» It was lukewarm orange juice with very little champagne. If you are with kids, this might be a good option because it’s probably the most family friendly restaurant we ate at in Quebec City. Just don’t expect too much.

Good service. The sphegetti in meat sauce was good. Also tried the baked seafood dish and was nice. A bit overpriced for the food you get, but it is quite common in Quebec City. That’s the only thing to give it 4 star not 5 star.

The girl was uninterested as we first walked in. Even if we walked through the wrong door… No need for a bitch face. We used the restroom and decided to have a coffee. The cappuccino was not good. Hopefully others will have a better first impression.

Ate breakfast here for several days of our trip and it was excellent. We had the crepes, omelettes and some basic bacon and eggs. All came out perfect. Staff very attentive and kept the coffee topped off without asking. Prices are fair and great alternative to eating in the hotels and paying high prices.

Avoid this eatery at all costs as there are far better place to eat locally in Quebec and I include MacDonald’s in that list! We decided to eat here on a quiet off season Tuesday lunchtime and after a very long wait our food arrived. We each ordered pizza, a fairly difficult dish to get wrong, however it was awfully bad, the base was very doughy and not fully cooked, the topping was tasteless and also smothered in far to much cheese. The owner didn’t pass comment when he saw I had only taken a couple of bites and seemed shocked when I declined to pay a tip.(it appeared that it wasn’t an option to pay one or not!). At this point the owner became very insulting and abusive, something that I have never experienced and took me completely by surprise. My recommendation is to avoid this place at all costs, I should have known better after seeing the décor as what to expect, but I was tired and hungry, thus my radar wasn’t fully tuned in! This place ranks in my top 5 worst eating experiences in over 30 years of eating out, including some very dodgy places from all over the world. Avoid this Tin pot ‘Bistro”

We had eaten breakfast here years ago and had enjoyed it, so decided to take our children and grandchildren here for dinner during our grandson’s hockey tournament trip. We were not disappointed. It was a cold snowy night, and we were greeted at the door like family. We had 2 lovely Very French Canadian waitresses who made us feel right at home. We had a wide variety of meals ranging from steak to meat pie all of which were very good. I must say that I had one of the best martinis that I have ever had. I should have gotten the recipe. I think they are part of Café de Paris which is right next door, and probably closes for the slower winter season. We certainly will go here the next time we are in town.

I was not impressed. Went here with my sisters because I hadn’t had poutine yet on the trip, and they were missing American food, and this place offered both. Also, they had a woman working outside in a snowstorm bringing in customers, and we felt so bad for her working in such conditions! She told us she had been there for about 12 hours working. She was there the next morning as well :( The poutine was not good — I’ve had better in New Hampshire. No cheese curds, just cold chunks of cheese, and the fries were like McDonalds. It wasn’t inedible, but it was not impressive. They get only 2 stars more for the experience — when I went to pay, the cashier openly hit on me, even though I’m clearly about 20 years younger than him. That made me very uncomfortable. There are much better restaurants in that area — not worth the visit.

Bread was a bit stale, so were the fries. They forgot half our order. Lasagne tasted store-bought. Service was only rude once, otherwise friendly but uncoordinated. Expensive for the quality and considering the other options.

Food was very reasonably priced, and was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Vegetable Linguine(Linguine Du Jardin), and it was very fresh! Very good food! Would definitely stop in again as a lunch, dinner or breakfast option next time I am in Quebec.

We waited for 45 minutes for our order which was greasy and small. My son ordered French toast which was 1 ½ slices of bread with the rind of a watermelon and a paper thin slice of an orange. My older son had a western omelette which was small and greasy. My husband ordered French toast and eggs. I ordered a greasy vegetable omelette that came with the same sad display of fruit. The waitresses were so kind, but the kitchen staff was slow. We were told that the heat was bothering them and it was hard for them to work… The cash register was broken so they were also having difficulty processing bills. We spent an hour and a half and still didn’t get a bill! We actually felt sorry for the young women manning a crew of unhappy customers, but not enough to return.

Great value & service for breakfast. The traditional breakfast food was good for the price and the staff were courteous and efficient. It is a bit crowded, but fine for our purpose and we spent two mornings there.

The servers were friendly. But I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and it was stale. Kind of a rip off for $ 8. They have a huge menu though and serve breakfast late, so perhaps the omelet yes are really the way to go. Decent coffee.

How long should it take to be served an omelet and a bowl of onion soup? Answer: Here, 1 hour. And the soup was barely warm. I was told, «they have a small kitchen». It finally dawned on the waitress to offer a desert. To late, they totally lost me at that point.

So, ok — don’t order pancakes at a restaurant called Omelettes: you can fault me there. But pancakes really aren’t rock science and these were terrible — gummy, reheated and served with a couple berries, a thimble of maple syrup and a small paper thin slice of watermelon. Bacon and sausage were extra — both were fine(but small portions). Service was polite enough but slow slow slow — ESP for a breakfast place. And at $ 45 for three pancakes plus a mediocre cappuccino, no way. There are many better places to eat in this area.

This Quebec breakfast joint is pretty weak. A mediocre omelet, a burnt croissant, warm water in a tiny little glass not much bigger than a shot glass. .. Meh. Another review described the place as «cramped.» Very well put. Wasn’t the most comfortable accommodation. Very underwhelming.

This cute little breakfast place had just enough local charm to keep it from the level of a generic diner. We were thrilled to be seated right away, though we were in the furthest corner of a packed room full of loud tourists — Spanish on one side, American on the other. I tried to keep our conversation level low, but they heard us speaking English and wouldn’t stop talking to us! This is not the restaurant’s fault, of course, although the close quarters didn’t help the situation. Our food was fine: eggs and toast for him and quiche for me. It arrived hot and although the quality wasn’t outstanding, it wasn’t terrible either. I loved the bowl of hot café au lait, and so did our new friends, who had to have their own after they saw mine! I did wish it had come a little earlier, as I had barely taken a sip when our food arrived. They were really slammed, though; it was Sunday morning. The prices were very reasonable for the tourist section of a city. Which is to say, they were a little high for anywhere else. It all depends on your point of view, right? I don’t think we’d go out of our way to return here, since there are so many great places in Québec, but we did enjoy our meal and I appreciated the server’s patience with the loud and slightly demanding tables near us.

Reviewing breakfast here. I ordered French toast with a side of bacon. It came with real maple syrup, which was a pleasant surprise. The toast itself had an interesting flavor that I couldn’t quite put my finger on, which I really enjoyed since it is rare to be surprised by a familiar breakfast dish. My wife ordered the eggs benedict. When it came out I noticed it had grilled sliced ham instead of Canadian bacon. I mentioned this and she said, «I don’t care it’s fantastic» which I guess is really what matters. The food was better than good, but on its own really only garners 3 stars in my book. What earned the extra star was the service. Prompt, polite and with a smile. While this may seem like the bare minimum, in Old Québec it was the exception and it was very much appreciated.

Bref, j’espère mieux me sentir lorsque j’y retournerai!
