Worst diner experience in Quebec City! Waitress didn’t give us suggestion in their food portion(e.g. Ribs are too much as one main dish) resulting in that we ordered way too much food. Even though there were only a few people in the restaurant, we waited about half hour for food to come. The steak was ok. The ribs were so so. In the end, since the portion of ribs was too big, I had to take away more than half of it. Waitress only gave me a box to wrap and said they didn’t have bags for the take away. So I had to hold the box in the freezing cold weather. In the end, when we asked a passing by waitress to give us the diner bill, she told us to ask for our own waitress who was nowhere to find. Finally our waitress showed up and gave us the bill. We were surprised to find that even we didn’t hear, find or feel her service she clearly was very satisfied with herself charging us service fee by 15% buried in the bill already!

Cute ambience, intimate and cozy feel. It was pretty empty on a weeknight which might have added to the cozy vibe. We started with drinks and I ordered their cocktail special the sacre blis glacé which boasted Apple cider, vodka and lemon. l definitely enjoyed it– and I can be picky about these things. To start I ordered the escargot. They had a twist to them since they were served with in Marsala sauce– not in the traditional garlic/butter type sauce not keeping with tradition… not in tradition at all. This new sauce was a bit too salty for my taste so I would skip these altogether. The rest of my party ordered a few apps including the calamari(slightly bland for my taste) and the pan seared foie gras which everyone raved about. I ordered the duck risotto. This was served with duck breast which was actually cooked appropriately. The duck was flavorful, tender and juicy served on a generous bed of risotto. The risotto was ok nothing to write home about but it was a nice accessory to the duck. The rest of my party ordered one variation or another of steak and they said it was all good but nothing extraordinary. Someone ordered the surf and turf and they were disappointed about the surf(shrimp). My colleague did say the french onion soup was delicious so that might be a good starter along with the foie gras(if you’re looking to splurge).

Dinner was super amazing, waitress was not very friendly. I got the salmon and sweet potato and I basically had to say something after every bite cause I was like this is so good. Our waitress seated us and progressively got less friendly. Then by the end of our dinner she didn’t even finish with us, another waitress took us over who was super friendly. Great food though!

The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because the middle of my steak was pretty good. We have had delicious meals all week in Quebec City, and tonight was our last night. We could not get in where we wanted to eat, so we ended up here. To start, the hostess never smiled and acted like she wished we had not come there to eat. My husband got a ribeye steak cooked medium well and it was so burnt that was all you could taste. He said it was a very crunchy steak. I had the filet mignon cooked medium well and the outer edge was crispy burnt well done but the center was close to medium. The baked potatoes were too cold to melt butter and the veggies that come with the meal is 1 very small carrot and a slice of beet and a very very small amount of broccoli. We did have the asparagus appetizer, and it was good. I would not recommend this restaurant when there are so many other wonderful places to eat.

I was quite pleasantly surprised by the food here. We ordered the baby back ribs, skirt steak and salmon tartare. We came in on the early side and service was a bit slow but as the restaurant started to fill the food started coming out a little faster. The ribs and the steak were really good. no complaints. The salmon tartare was just ok. I would come here again to try some of their other cuts.

Stopped in for dinner here. A very small and quaint place. Had the 12oz Tenderloin which was done perfectly. I asked for double veg no starch. So I got like 2 little sprigs of Broccoli. The Arugula Salad was amazing topped with Goat Cheese. Nice wine selection but the Beer selection is lacking. Only 2 types of Beer on tap. Service was very nice and friendly. I would do this again next time through.

This was our last dinner in Quebec City. We tried the Canadian Sumack Ridge Merlot(Red Wine). This had some«hook» but the drink itself was too heavy, and it dominated the taste of the food. The fish is extremely good here. Try the Chile Bar fish, if it is the fish of the day. The baby back ribs were big and had a good sauce, but a little dry. My wife ordered a salad, but found out later that it had cranberries(she’s allergic). We apologetically mentioned this to our waiter, and hands off to their service. They took it away, and came out with a brand new salad, without the cranberries, and no extra charge. Definitely a nice ending to our visit!

Come here if: You’re totally over French food. ____________ After four days in French Canada, I couldn’t face another snail, sweetbread or poutine. So what’s a carnivorous American to do for dinner in Vieux Quebec? Feu Sacre was the answer to my prayer. Perfectly charred steaks are the stars of the show, along with chicken, fish and ribs. Everything is simply grilled and perfectly seasoned, with minimal sauces and flourishes, allowing the quality of the meat to come through. Portions are hearty and nicely plated, and the service is friendly(even if you don’t speak French). The décor is manages to be masculine, modern and cozy at the same time, with a mix of stone, rough-hewn wood, and stainless steel. Desserts are unimpressive, but other than that, we enjoyed every bite. Price(with a shared appetizer, plus individual entrees, desserts and drinks) was about $ 60 per person.

Good French Onion and split pea soup, but entrees were inedible. Steaks were burnt. Halibut was tough as leather. Chef needs to be introduced to a salt shaker.

This place is lucky it gets two stars first Unilocal has the wrong price category its more on 3 to 4 $$$ instead of $$. Super atmosphere and service thats where it ends. My steak was. Tough and burnt 8 oz probably was more like 4. Two small broccoli. Stalks one small carrot. Quarter of beet kid size mashed potato and bowl of split pea soup at mediocre at best will set you back $ 35. Keep walking and i blame Unilocal for this one also

Just arrived in Quebec after a long drive and tried this place on a whim. Ordered the filet mignon(medium well) and was blown away. Done to perfection and the flavor was to die for. My husband ordered the grain fed chicken breast, which was also exquisite and bursting with flavor. Both of our meals came with a garnished baked potato and vegetables, also obviously cooked by someone with know-how. Great presentation and portion size(not too much or too little). For dessert we shared the pecan cheesecake with caramel, also delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and down to earth; service was great, although it was a weekday night.

We unintentionally ended up there for dinner and I’m glad we did. Our original plan was to hit«café de Paris» but they were closed for renovations so we adventured next door to Feu Sacre. We were warmly welcomed and service was excellent from beginning to end. The dining room has a warm feel to it so you feel right away relaxed and almost at home. We all settled for the«menu table d’hote» which ranged from $ 30 to $ 35 depending on the main entrée chosen. I have to say we all finished every single dish of that feast and all were excellent. The menu is rather complete with an appetizer, soup, entrée and dessert. The highlights were the fish dishes: salmon and«Colin» and the accompaniments were really simple yet tasteful. We had a preference for the celery root mash. Overall, an excellent experience and I’d be back if I ever find my way to Quebec City again.

Really stumped a bit at dining options while visiting Quebec City. Montréal this is not, lots of bistro places, the old area screams of places that might be over priced tourist traps. I broke down and got a recommendation from someone to come here for dinner, and the four of us made a visit. A very nice charming somewhat dark interior, with plenty of seating, but sectioned off areas that give the impression of some privacy. Walls are adorned with rustic items, we were near a table of 4 large muskets. It felt inviting, old and cozy. Menu focuses on grilled meats, but there is lots of seafood on the menu. Heck as you walk in you pass a lobster tank, plus there is fish and shrimp scallops also available. Wine selection great, beer selection very minimal, but HEY20oz PINTS! Dam those are big. Our service was a very charming and helpful waitress, who balanced leaving us alone and providing us things when we needed them promptly. Grilled asparagus is cooked nicely hot, and smoked and charred with wonderful flavor. New Orleans grilled shrimp consits of only about 3 – 4 very large shrimp with a nice salsa on the bottom of a cocktail glass, my friend remarked she rather enjoyed it so I believe her. But the true winner of an appetizer(entre) here is the lobster bisque. Served in a square bowl with one of the biggest dollops of cream on top, it is rich and incredibly light bodied but full of flavor. My other friend remarked about that this had to be stewing for hours and was full of shells in its making. Spiked with cognac, and light and a hint of creamy texture with the very light cream, he flat out said it was the best lobster bisque in any place he’s ever had. Main items of halibut and spring rolls are an interesting combination. The rolls on the bottom which made me think they’d get a bit soggy, but turned out fine, with a real unique stuffing. The fish was devoured in five seconds before I could have any by my friend, but noticed it has a wonderful crust and white glistening tempting fleshy body. I went for a simple rib steak(the meat is corn fed), and it was cooked perfectly to my request(medium rare) with a thin size but spreading out its 14oz acreage all over my plate. Best steak ever? no, but certainly enjoyable with peppercorn on my side. I also ordered a side of the truffle mushrooms which are just nicely oiled and richly delicious, I could barely finish them. Revisiting the menu I could see plenty of things on here I would love to try again someday. Without question I would come back here again for dinner if I had the opportunity.

We arrived on a slow night with a family of 8. We had no idea that they staff the restaurant based on reservations, but for whatever reason they were short staffed. Still they took us in with a smile. Dinner took over two and a half hours, including an hour wait for our food. But the wait was worth it. I had the Foie Gras and it was excellent. Everyone else had something that was generally excellent also. The ribs were very good, though not to the taste of my kids who prefer a less fruity sauce. I think the best dish was the cajun shrimp that my brother in law ordered. Perfectly spicy, with just right amount of salt and pepper. The bill was expensive, but I must say this was out best meal in our visit to Quebec. Maybe next time we’ll get further out of Old Quebec and get some more local flavor but this was good.

Took my wife out for a nice dinner while on vacation. We arrived early to an empty restaurant, which was fine as it soon began to fill up. Ambience and design of the restaurant were nice. Service was superbe, our waitress was both pleasant and knowledgeable. Food was pretty good, but honestly, could have been better for the price. I had a lobster, which was dry and overcooked… how you steam a lobster all the way to «dry» is beyond me. Perhaps it sat under warming lights for too long? I also had a side of asparagus which was overwhelmed by lemon. My wife had a steak, which she enjoyed. I was offered a replacement lobster when the waitress checked back with us, but by that time I was almost done and a second lobster would have been gluttonous. I was not offered or given any reduction of the bill, which is what I would have preferred. Overall, I got the sense that this was a restaurant with a lot of potential, but was being held back by the kitchen.

Overall not bad. My wife had an onion soup and a filet Mignon. The soup was OK — had better — the filet was excellent — done as ordered. I had the halibut which came with spring rolls. The fish was excellent, moist and cooked to perfection. The spring rolls — I have no idea why spring rolls came with this — were terrible… mushy, overcooked and totally tasteless. Oh yeah, the Martinis were OK but nothing to write home about

This restaurant is in cahoots with Hotel Acadia, where I stayed in Quebéc City, breakfast is here. They have great service, an attractive interior, and delicious muffins. The breakfast buffet looked average and unimpressive although I must admit I didn’t taste. I had yogurt, a muffin, fruit, and coffee for $ 4 which I thought was a pretty decent deal.
