The Teavana of the North. This David’s Tea is quaint and can seem crowded when there a handful of people in there. This location is full of everything tea. The walls are lined with tea gift sets, mugs, and other accessories. I do appreciate that the tea wall is color code to help you distinguish the different types of tea. The labels on the tea are in French, but are easy to figure out if you are unfamiliar with the language or the staff can assist you. The flavors offered are pretty standard for a tea shop. They do also offer a variety of tea blends specific to the David’s Tea chain. If you don’t wish to commit to specific tea and wish to try before you buy, they offer single cups of tea for a reasonable price.

Aaah David’s tea, what a surprising chain store. I never expected it to have such great variety, flavoursome, and unique tea concoctions! We’ve had good experience at the store as other Unilocalers, staff are friendly, accommodating, knowledgable and very engaging. Tea selection is amazing, I wish you ship to Australia :(

This was a chain I intended to visit in New York and was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon in Quebec. Similar in feel to a Teavana, they have the large tea wall, some tea accessories, and booklets of all their available teas with descriptions. I grabbed a book and returned later on after making my decisions, but I got the feeling they would have talked me through any of their offerings if I needed help deciding. Their canisters had a little area in the lid full of tea, so you can sniff/touch if you want. This appealed to me more than stores that let customers take a whiff out of the big container, seems a little more sanitary. They have the standard offerings as well as some creative blends, with average prices, especially if you’re used to Teavana.

David’s Tea is a great place for all kinds of teas. It offers a small bit of luxury that everyone who likes to splurge a bit can enjoy. The other great thing is that the tea travels well and makes for a nice gift. The location is at the heart of the Old City dining and shopping scene on Rue St. Jean. Unlike some David’s Tea locations, this one has a couple of tables where you can enjoy your tea before leaving the shop. I found the staff here to be both knowlegeable and friendly. Quite impressed with this location.

I stopped in yesterday for an afternoon pick-me-up after wandering around Vieux Quebec in a bit of a drizzle. What a great place! As soon as I walked in, someone said hello and offered me the opportunity to taste two of their teas. I wouldn’t normally have done so, but she was so enthusiastic, I couldn’t say no. SOOOOO glad I didn’t! I’ve found my new favourite herbal tea: Bravissimo, an amazing blend of licorice, chamomile, rosehip, orange peel and peppermint, and goji berries. Seriously, I’ve drank more than 10 cups of it in the last 12 hours and can’t get enough! And, they’ve just started delivering across North America for a $ 5 flat fee, so that works for me to keep the Bravissimo flowing from Quebec to the West Coast. My Darjeeling-to-go was good too.
