Very charming restaurant! Relaxed atmosphere and helpful waiter. Prices were reasonable and you got a ton of food. Entrees included bread salad and dessert. I had the tourtière and my husband had the lamb couscous at the waiters suggestion. The lamb was excellent. The tourtière was filled with beef. We were stuffed but made space for the maple syrup ice cream and crème caramel. The only downside was the house red was very watery.

The one star isn’t for the food as we didn’t stick around long enough. The food on other tables looked fine. We arrived at 6:30 with a booking. Party of 7. We had to ask for menus and bread. And 30 minutes later we hadn’t so much as recieved our drinks order or even water. The staff seemed decidedly untrained and excessively slow. With very little hope we would ever get served, we walked out after 40 minutes.

Had a great breakfast here on our way out of town. The staff was outstanding and very friendly. A wonderful, comfortable place to have breakfast. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we are in town.

Food is nice, environment is even better, you can eat at the back and look around for the flowers, trees, air… And price is not very high compare with other restaurant in same location, average 15−20CAD per person. One problem is, at the time I went(early noon), there is only one waitress there. I waited long for food, and the bills. Some people left because of the long long waiting to order.

Nice place but the service was bad. We had to wait for more than 30 minutes just for a beer

this place seems to have mixed reviews depending on which meal you eat. my 5 star rating is for the breakfast I had there. I ran into this place sort by accident as I was kind of roaming around old town waiting for a certain store to open and hungry. it’s on a hilly quiet side street and was the kind of out of the way place I’m attracted to. it’s a pretty small and cozy place, though there may be more dinner seating in back, and the few people that were there appeared to be locals, usually a good sign. I ordered a omelette with veggies, ham, and cheese. the waitress asked if I wanted hash browns, something I usually avoid, but for some reason I said yes. it turned out to be a very smart move. anyway, after a few minutes of sipping away at a bowl of hot chocolate, my order arrived. it was a huge plate and was completely full. what caught my eye were the so called«hash browns». normally you get these soggy, stringy things that have been sitting on the side of the grill for who knows how long but these were completely different. perfectly uniform small cubes nicely crisped on the outside. had to try one and when I did I was amazed. the cubes had a slightly crunchy exterior but the inside was kind of like mashed potatoes. perfect! what made them even more amazing was the fact they had just the right amount of salt and pepper and what really set them apart was just a slight hint of rosemary. no ketchup(or whatever they put on potatoes in canada) for these suckers, they couldn’t be any better than just how they were. so after a few mouthfuls of them I got into the omelet. I’m not going to bore you with the details but let me just say it was by far the most tender, tastiest, most delicious egg dish I have EVER had! the eggs were cooked perfectly and the filling tasted simply incredible. i stopped in for a pretty simple breakfast and walked out with a big smile on my face after a meal that was simply extraordinary.

This place gets 4 stars not because it’s packed with beautiful people or has a killer cocktail list, but rather because it’s old school style and basic menu just hits the spot in what can be a very touristy Old Quebec. I stopped in and had the escargot for a snack and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. Nice butter and garlic sauce served with a basket of bread for dipping afterwards. The owner serves the tables and makes a mean café au lait. Don’t expect luxury or a scene here. It’s just a side street oasis that recalls feelings of what restaurants used to be.

I came here for breakfast and everyone in my group was very pleased! The food was great and the atmosphere is so quaint. We came at 8:30 on a Sat and I think we beat the rush, just as we were leaving it was starting to fill up. I had the brunch platter with eggs, chicken pâté, brie, prosciutto, toast, and lots of fruit. I would definitely recommend.

Against the gut instinct I was feeling and because I allowed reviews to sway me and because we had come to the end of the street and just wanted to sit and eat we chose this place. Oh what a mistake. Chicken liver starter was the oddest texture I have ever come across… Mealy in fact with no liver flavor at all. Lamb and Merguez Coucous appeared to be from a plastic pouch. Far too much microwave action in the kitchen the whole night. Service is friendly but scattered and forgetful. Two pluses… the raclette at the table next to us looked good and plentiful and our ice cream for desert was fine. Two stars are for the friendliness only. I do not get the other rave reviews.

This restaurant was a huge disappointment. First, I cannot understand how any restauranteur can routinely serve red wine freezer cold. It is not Sangria. The salad, lettuce was limp. Bread was cheap grocery store variety. We ordered a salmon dish in a pastry crust. Turned out to be mashed potatoes inside with a hint of salmon. The chocolate cake was stale and the coffee insipid. It was recommended as a reasonably priced place. I’d gladly pay more for a better meal elsewhere.

While I think the term ‘hidden gem’ is a bit overused, I will apply it freely in describing the Little Latin Corner. Tucked away halfway up a slopey side street, it would be easy to miss. Thankfully we didn’t! We both ordered the Table d’hôte — and there were several vegetarian options. 1) Tomato Quiche with a starter of vegetable soup; 2) Salmon Pie with a vegetarian terrine(something like a pâté) starter. Both came with salad and bread, and ended with coffee. Of course, a couple of glasses of house wine rounded out the meal. The service, managed alone by what I assume was the owner, was prompt and courteous. Again, he allowed me to fumble along in français. The food was just right — homemade, fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit!

Dommage.

We went there for lunch and dinner… the lunch was nice… good food, good waitstaff. The dinner crew was rushed, not very attentive. Overall a nice cute little choice inside the Walls of Quebec City… great sandwiches, breakfast, pastas, etc… My escargots were the smallest I have ever had… six of them… each one was about the size of a thumbtack… Disappointed…

Great little place tucked away on a back street. One might almost think he/she has stumbled upon a secret, but with good food, service, and atmosphere others are sure to come. We had breakfast here and the prices were relatively reasonable. The food is, like much of Quebec’s, savory and top notch.

I ate here for lunch with my wife and two young children. We all ate frommthe table d’hôte menu. I ordered the croque monsieur(very good), my wife ordered the quiche(she enjoyed it a lot), my 6 year old ordered the smoke salmon with bagel(delicious) and my 9 year old ordered the pizza(terrible). The restaurant has a great old world décor to it and during the lunch time service we were at, the owner was the waiter, cook, busboy and cashier(all done well). Overall I enjoyed the restaurant but think ordering a la carte might be a better vale since you can skip the soup/salad and get your coffee elsewhere(all in the name of visiting as many establishments as possible).

Le Petit Coin Latin was a recommendation from our travel book and it’s a real gem! I’m serious! The restaurant is cozy, inviting and prices are reasonable. They have a great selection of sandwiches, salads and entrees. We ordered the Croque Monsieur and the bagel with cream cheese and lox. Both were toasted goodness and came with a fresh side salad. What added to the fantastic meal was their selection of Unibroue beers. Love it! The restaurant is tucked away on a quiet street(nearby a hostel) and has outdoor seating as well. If in Quebec, I highly suggest you grab your next cup of coffee or meal at this place.

For the most part we were disappointed with our dinner. We started off with unusually large servings of café au lait(in a soup bowl) along with stale sandwich bread and butter. We decided on the three course meal option which requires two people to order the same thing(and pay twice). We chose the veggie roquette which is basically vegetables, raw eggs, and sliced Swiss cheese which you cook yourself on a tabletop skillet. While the food was of good quality and excessive quantity, this«authentic» cuisine lacked any flavor, seasoning, or flair that wouldn’t be found in a college dorm room. The only exception was the escargot, which was very good. We did not stay for dessert but were certainly charged for it.
