Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel in front of the huge hotel Frontenac. The staff are all very friendly and extremely accommodating. The guest rooms are very small. Ours looked to be around 150 sq feet and had a double sized bed. The new LEDTV is mounted on the exposed brick over the non-operational fire place. The bathroom is amazing. It has been completely renovated recently and has modern fixtures such as a large glass shower with rain shower head, three separate massaging jets, and a handheld sprayer. Waterfall style sink faucet on a new and very European sink/cabinet unit. Since the room is very small, there is not room for a desk which we didn’t mind too much as the room was so comfortable. There is also no iron or ironing board which was disappointing. The bed is very firm which is perfect for me but may be too firm for others. There is no carpet in our room and it has a new wood floor. The hotel is very clean and I actually saw a staff member cleaning the baseboards the first morning. Extremely impressed. The Wi-Fi works great and there is plenty of bandwidth. There are also many French and English television channels. The televisions have lots of ports to plug in any device you want and has USB inputs that can be used to charge devices. We are already planning our trip back to this great hotel.

French Canadian cuisine which the quality of food is superb, but the service is awful. The wait staff treated our bus tour group like an assembly line as we received the pre-fixed price lunch. I felt like it was generic and rather than a unique experience. I requested the name of the daily soup which the waiter rudely and abruptly ran for his life when he yelled the name of the soup. I did not have the opportunity to request a glass of red wine to accompany my meal as I was craving to taste French Canadian wine. As our meal came to an end, I saw my Mom’s plate was wipped completely clean as she was very hungry to scarf it completely down. I was completely baffled and shocked that my Mom wipped each plate of the pre-fixed price course completely clean, which even I could not finish each course. The steak were tasty as it comes with fresh beet. Beet reminds me of Saltibarsciai, a Lithuanian staple, coming from my former love which I am not a big fan. The cheese cake is unlike the American style of yellow paste, but it’s a creamy white filling with blueberries on top. There is outdoor seating. The décor of the restaurant is very old world charm as the ceiling is painted red with lighting chandeliers.

I enjoyed this small hotel(above the restaurant), because I’m very low maintenance. I just wanted a little, centerly located hotel room where I could rest my feet between walking around on all the tours, and a view of the château out the window. I got it. I didn’t need a spa/pool, ornante decorations, really anything. It was one of the cheapest hotels you could find for the location, I think it came in under $ 130USD a night, and this thing is smack in accross the street from the Frontenac for Pete’s Sake! The only drawbacks are as follows: Steep stairs up to the rooms(located above the restaurant), During busy times there is no real space on the curb to drop off luggage, Parking is at an off site garage. This would be a bad local if you needed your car daily. If your plan is to park, and then walk around for the next few days, then go for it. BESTPERKEVER: You will be right next door to the tourism office, about 100 feet way from signing up for every tour or trip you could want.
