I don’t really understand all the low ratings for this HK style café. Kingspark is a bit on the pricier side, and although there are lots of other options for this type of food in Richmond, Kingspark is my go-to HK style café. They are one of the few that offer puff pastry baked soups! As I mentioned earlier, yes, their dishes are maybe $ 1 – 2 more than it would be at Alleluia or Happy Date. And their service is not the best. But — their baked dishes are very good. I’ve had their baked fish with spinach in cream sauce on rice and the taste of their sauce is on point. I’ve also had their baked pork chop on rice, and this is also very good. Their baked chicken steak with mushrooms in garlic cream sauce on spaghetti is good too. If in a rush, I would get something not baked. But in general their food comes out pretty quickly. Now on to their soup. For their combos, they come with a hot drink. Cold drinks are $ 1 more. Soup of the day is extra, and puff pastry on the soup is extra. Their special soups — seafood soup or lobster bisque — is extra too. Or you can get the puff pastry soup by itself. But I like to splurge and a puff pastry lobster bisque to my meal for $ 5. It comes out piping hot, with a buttery puff pastry on top, and underneath is a creamy, delicious lobster bisque. Check out the video I’ve uploaded for this. I tried their seafood soup once and it’s not very good — I would never get that again, and instead go for the lobster bisque every time(for the same price). I would come here just for the puff pastry soup! Although service is not great, I don’t expect it to be at these types of places. As long as I get my food, I’m good to go. Their HK style dishes always come out tasty and their puff pastry soups are delicious :) so 4 stars for Kingspark!

+.5 for service Of all places I could’ve eaten in Richmond, I chose this one. Oops. Kingspark Steak House is a HK style café. From the reviews I’m seeing, if this was one of the«better» HK style cafes, then unfortunately I have to say Markham has you beat in that department. I had the beef instant noodle with satay sauce. The taste was actually the resemblance of «meh», as I found the noodles to be of poor quality. Also, $ 8.50 was quite a steep price for a simple bowl of noodle soup, as something of that calibre where I live only costs around $ 5. Service was quite good for an Asian restaurant, as at least there was a thank you, welcome, and the employees weren’t giving you that cold tone feel. However, there are many other excellent choices for Asian food in Richmond. This isn’t one of them.

Let’s face it. Richmond Cantonese food is about pricing. Food selection is identical at any café and you don’t go Cantonese café for service. But really can you ignore bad service when food is just as identical as next café or food court down the block? No i cant. I am cool with male-only staff serving food with their apron. However, everytime restaurant door opened they all be checking out if a hot cute girl just walked in. I went there twice during busy and slow dining hour. Bad food service, I am better off getting same food at close by food court, at a lower price. One star will not come again.

HK-style café with a very good variety of Asian and Western dishes and large portions at reasonable prices. When you order the set meals, I like getting a drink and a soup with mine: choice of a daily soup or lobster or seafood, and for all soups you can add the pastry on top(sorry, but I’m not sophisticated enough to know the name for that, LOL).

Craziness– but this is actually one of the better HK cafes in richmond. Not rude service(like other reviewers have mentioned), just non-existant. I get the classic baked pork chop on rice. It’s good. Not goldstone quality. But good enough compared to some of the WEAK efforts in the rest of richmond to match Goldstone.

I’ve been here a handful of times and they were all decent meals but this recent visit after a year of not being here, will probably be my last. I came here late night with my boyfriend to try and catch some late night deals. We didn’t see much or any special deals. I got the Pan-fried Flat Rice Noodles with Beef(around $ 8?). They were average and typical in taste, nothing to get too excited over. My boyfriend ordered a Lobster Cream Noodle(around $ 11?). It wasn’t until this dish that I realized there was such thing as Imitation Lobster. I should have figured it wouldn’t be real lobster, but I thought they would just use the claws or small pieces of real lobster. It was a huge disappointment of salty, mushy fake lobster. The cream sauce was really light, in a boring way, and the whole dish was just sad to eat. Overall, this place has lost its appeal to me but if you find yourself here, despite the many other HK cafés in Richmond, it’s not going to be terrible.

I’ve been here on and off since they’ve opened and I gotto say the service had gone down hill, having only no more than 6 – 7 tables, we had the usual first glass of tea and never got a refill after that. Servers looked miserable as fuck and food portions have gotten smaller. I won’t be returning anymore.

Sadly this subpar dining experience will have to be my first review. Menu offers your standard HK café items. Ordered the 2-item grill combo… Which came with mushroom sauce featuring raw unwashed sliced mushrooms. Waiter insisted that’s how it’s supposed to be. Visible dirt on mushroom was«sauce particles» and that’s how«western style» mushroom sauce is supposed to be. Ooook then. Maybe safer to stick to a rice or noodle dish. Or head over to alleluia across the complex.

Worst service ever! When you first walk in, the waiter doesn’t acknowledge you and tilts his head to signal you over. The food is edible but not fantastic. I don’t know if this is their policy, but the food for my party came all together which is good. Most Chinese places serve the food as soon as it is cooked. They call it a steak restaurant but it is definitely not their specialty. They are just a typical Chinese café with food ranging from pastas to Chow mein. The staff is forgetful– we had to ask for the bill at least 4 times to the same waiter but he would just continue to clean tables… I understand that it may not be him who is allowed give us the bill, but just to acknowledge us and confirm that it is on the way!!! It’s just frustrating to try to figure out whether or not it’ll come!

Name is fairly misleading, not really a steak house. It’s a hong kong café. I found it interesting that they have two sides of their menu: western noodles & rice, and asian noodles & rice. They serve some typical western stuff like spaghetti and meatballs, as well as a good selection of various asian dishes. I got the fried udon noodles(shanghai style). It was a fairly hefty portion, and was pretty decent. Their meals come with a drink: milk tea, lemon grass tea. Though I believe they cost an extra dollar before 9pm. They are fairly reasonably priced, and the food was prepared pretty quickly. Service is pretty typical asian restaurant, just call on them when needed. Also they don’t seem to take mastercard.

I’ve been coming to Kingspark for years, although i’ve never ordered or would suggest eating steak here. Here’s the deal, the food is good, service is terrible, portions are well sized and pricing is awesome. The home run is «thai style» chicken fried rice. It’s great. My other favorite is the curry, u can get it with chicken, brisket or lamb. I have enjoyed the chicken and brisket. Everything else can be hit or miss, and most of the dishes are out of my cultural norm. I usually get the iced coffee as the drink that comes with«set» meals. It’s ok. They do a bristling take-out business, as their waiter service really does suck. Once again, I think it’s just a hk cultural thing. I just reduce the amount I tip, they seem to not expect much. I do really wish they’d get a service«coach». Not gonna happen. Love this place for what it is.

I’ve been going to this place for a while and it is one of my go-to places for HK style food. If you go after 9pm you can get the cheap menu which includes a drink. Definitely order their HK style milk tea when you are here — it is one of the best in town in my opinion. I usually order curry beef brisket with rice or the grilled plate(you can choose different options of meat with rice/spaghetti/fries and a choice of sauces). The food is nothing to rave about but if you are looking for cheap food, and relatively big portions, this is a place to go to.

Cheap chinese breakfast– congee, sandwichs, meat and egg plates or noodles with drink– up to $ 6.49 I usually get the Chicken steak sandwich or Soya rice noodle rolls. If I’m hungry, then I’ll add Congee or one of the combo dishes on the side. It’s a great deal, good food. I never expect good attentive service in these types of restaurants but it’s quiet and quick with my food. Try it out :)

I have no idea how«Steak House» got in there. I only visit for take-out. The set meals are priced quite well for the generous portions. There is othing too striking about this place, really. Some food combinations here are quite odd to me as I am not from HK, hence less accustomed to the HK diner-style food. Overall, it’s edible; just nothing fancy.

a new to-go hong kong style café for me! introduced by my coworkers, this restaurant hit the right spot for me. the price was decent, the food was good, the service was relatively quick. for a group of 9 people, they didn’t mess up any orders. i tried their noodle combo, where i got to choose my own noodles and soup base and toppings. let me tell you, i ordered the parsley and preserved duck eggs soup base and it was delish! i would say it is pretty good and can compete with deer garden. will definitely be back for more!

This is my delima. Trying to write my review, take pictures while at the restaurant that I’m reviewing, with my iphone. So I get back to my house to finish the review. I have to admit, that sometimes I will just post whatever I wrote on my iphone without any edits and let it run. In this case, I had to make changes due to all those auto-correctness that this phone loves to impose on me. Nothing I could use and nothing that was appropriate. Apparently my phone is perverted and swears alot. So it was a total rewrite from scratch, but I can’t remember what I ate and the picture I took was too fuzzy to tell what I had. So this review is basically an overview of all the times I’ve eaten here. Considering that I’ve been here about a half dozen times, I like it. 3.5 stars. It’s not the healthiest place to go to(so much rice this and noodle that), but it does recognize one big thing for me. When I ask for no sugar in my drink, I get no sugar. Simple. They understand me. LIke all HK café’s, you can get combo’s for a deal. There are Asian dishes, Dishes with Rice and or noodle options and noodle dishes. Everything comes with a carb. Unless you dare to have a salad, which I usually don’t recommend at these places. Think about it. Do Chinese really eat raw vegetables? So in a nutshell, there are lots to choose from.

Our steak was way over-cooked and the manager was an ass about fixing it. He stood there pissed off and angry, but eventually offered to cancel it(after more arguing). Won’t be coming back nor recommending it to my friends. Move along… there are plenty of other HK café’s in Richmond that give a little more respect to their customers and have good food.

*Great Hong Kong-style café* Kingspark Steakhouse Restaurant is a Hong Kong-Style café which serves internationally inspired dishes which are asianized to fit the tastes of Hong Kongers. Typical Hong Kong-style cafes serves set meals which comes with an entrée and a drink(sometimes with soup as well). When I come to Kingspark, I usually order their western-style dishes which are your rices and pastas with tomato or cream sauces. Th e food here is great as they have great ingredients and generous portions. Just note that during PEAK hours, the value sets is an additional $ 1.(just double check the menu) Service here is on the good side(when based with asian service standards). So please, do not expect too much from the servers! Regular patron here, so might have some bias, but definitely a place I would recommend to all.

A nicely decorated HK-syle café with discounted meals after 9pm, before that then it’s add $ 1 to each item, you still get your free drink. I like how they have many items on their menu to choose from and it’s organized in categories instead of just a huge long list. Their fried rice/noodles is really well made, can’t go wrong, awesome sized portions, not mini at all, the size stays the same any time of the day. It’s a great«cha-chaan-tang»!
