Standard MCD! Always dependable for a quick, delicious unhealthy lunch! LOL.

One of the few food venues in this part of the city. Surprisingly few places around here, considering it’s right across from a large business park. Parking is available in front of the building. Even though the entire building looks like a McDonald’s, the restaurant actually only takes up half of the space. The interior is quite cramped. The other thing worth mentioning is that there’s something trippy about the menu boards here. The screens alternate between showing the menu and some giant psychedelic pattern. As expected, the food and drink are consistent with the other locations.

This is one of my least favourite McDonald’s locations. Service seems slower and the staff doesn’t really seem to care. I suspect that this may be a franchise location. I once ordered a meal at this McDonald’s at about 9:00pm on a Monday evening. A few minutes into preparing my order, the staff member asked me if I would like an apple pie instead of fries since they would take a few minutes. I found this to be rather off-putting since: a) Fries are not comparable to an apple pie. Fries are a side; apple pie is a dessert. Also, an apple pie costs less than a regular fries. I had already paid, were they going to refund me the difference? b) This location is open until midnight; they should be prepared to make fries until just before closing time. c) I have been offered a complimentary apple pie(in addition to the other items I had ordered) at other locations when I’ve had to wait but never as a substitute for items I have ordered. d) No one apologized for the wait. They just shrugged it off when I declined the apple pie. Another downside to this location is that parking is very limited due to the neighbouring Mini dealership. If you’re in the area and really want McDonald’s I recommend the location on Bridgeport Road and Sweden Way instead( ).

OK the first thing I noticed at this particular McDonald’s is the limited quantity of parking. There is a mini dealership beside the restaurant that really limits the space here. For instance if the parking lot has people coming in and out people from the drive through have to wait for cars to get into their spots in order to exit. The Mini dealership blocks the ability to go straight out of the drive through to avoid the parking lot by parking a car there to block the way out. I suppose they do this so people don’t drive through their dealership. It’s strange that a McDonald’s that really doesn’t have much seating indoors has that many parking spots full. The coolest thing about this McD’s is that they have garage doors as their walls on side facing away from the counter. So if and when the weather is good enough perhaps they open the doors/walls?

I don’t usually go this high for a fast food joint. but I have to say I was clearly impressed by this Mc’Dick’s as I wasn’t expecting much. After a good workout, and not really thinking of preparing anything myself, yet not wanting to break the bank I decided to have a guilty pleasure and coming to get some quick eats. This place is located at the Holiday Inn on Cambie Road, and between two car dealerships(BMW and Mini) and to think. this is just going to be like all the others. Pulling into this small parking lot, there’s not much spots, and you better watch out when someone pulls out(almost got into an accident with someone backing up) but once you park it, come into this small McD’s and order. Looking at this place, many were enjoying the outdoor seating while I walked past them and in. I noticed that most of the patio area walls were also glass garage door opening sections, so this place can really feel out there when you are sitting in, odd they weren’t open on this beautiful Saturday, but that was probably cause they were keeping the a/c from leaving the premises. When I walked in, I noticed this place was pretty small, like an ‘Express’ shop… A lot of tables, and all pretty clean, these people working here know how to take care of their spot. Then comes the thing that wowed me, and I didn’t notice it at first. I really didn’t know what to order, and looking at the menu above the checkout, everything seemed quite normal, till everything changed, and it was at least 4 big flat screen tv’s with moving advertisements of all the delicious bad for you(but oh. so tasty) food served here. Marketing, when done well. really get’s me… and this place has it. I have not seen this at any other McD’s… well not yet… but I can say it was nice seeing a menu so clear and in high definition, but also changing up during the middle showing other items that are for a limited time. and tempting my wallet. I eventually decided on a Happy Meal… wanted the toy. gimme a break! And then I sat down, looked around, they have one small tv, a nice clean area to get your condiments, napkins, soda machine, and utensils. It just felt like a nice fast food joint to sit in. The food, compared to other golden arches I have been to, was put together nicely, fries piping hot, no complaints. If I’m feeling the urge again for this kinda stuff… I’ll think on coming back here… really. Just watch out in the parking lot. some people really don’t know how to drive. or back up blindly!

Really cheap on quantity of parfait — was only half filled and they refused to fill it all the way without charging for a second one.
