You don’t have too many choices for tacos in Richmond. So this place is OK to grab a quick lunch.

Been here several times(I know, you think I would learn right?) How can there be such amazing Mexican food in Blaine and Bellingham, and such a poor showing here? This place can be ok during the lunch rush. If you come a bit late, at your own health risk. Dry pork and chicken at slightly above room temperature. Honestly, I would prefer a taco bell, at least they understand(for the most part) food safety standards. If you’re desperate for a fix of Mexican, this should be used as a last resort. With so many other options nearby(delicious fried chicken, Chinese, Singaporean, chinese, Japanese etc.), it’s hard to justify. Lunch specials are ok value, nothing to write home about.

The wet mondito on special on Wednesdays is the small sibling of the mondo, but I’d consider it pretty gigantic. How it works is you choose your protein(beef, chicken, or pork) and your Mexican works(usually some beans, rice, and other veggies), and then they slap some hot tomato sauce and cheese on top which melts the cheese and out comes something like the cover photo. You’ll want a fork and knife to address this mondito, and for the price of under $ 7 I’d say this is worth the minimal wait. The meat(I got chicken) is juicy enough and while I’ve no doubt these are some cheap ingredients(compared to fancier Mexican restaurants) and probably sit there for hours, the«wetness» is the right kind of finish to make you forget all that.
