Great Value! Combos start from $ 6.50 I’ve been eating here from time to time for many years. First at the Landsdown Mall location, and now at Oakridge. The owner is super friendly and very funny! I am so glad to see that he was able to open a second location. Their tater tots are so good! I usually get a 10″ burrito with rice and beans. I love all the toppings including the pickled carrots. I am not the biggest fan of the guacamole, but the spicy sauce makes up for that.

Great bang for your buck. You can load up your burrito or soft tacos with your choice of fillings. And their salsa is amazing and made fresh each day. TIP: if you order a burrito or soft taco, you get a choice of chicken or beef. But most people don’t know that you can request rice and beans to be added to your beef or chicken. You can load it up!

Unilocal led me to this stand inside a mall. The concept is similar to Chipotle, but prices are more reasonable. You get a lot of food, reasonable in taste and presentation. It’s food at a stand in a mall, for Pete’s sake. And that’s all you are going to get.

Taco Luis!!! Oh my goodness! You know it’s good when you’re driving down Cambie, with a bit of a rumble in the tumble since its lunchtime and the first thing that comes to your mind is food from the Oakridge food court. Yes, I actually took a detour from going home to turn into the mall and searched for a parking spot to get one of my favourite non-authentic Mexican dishes for lunch. Freshly fried tater tots + your choice of mexi flavoured beef or chicken(go for the beef) + all the fixings = SOYUM! Combo comes with a pop is under $ 10. Although the food is really good… My only Debbie downer point is that due to the volume and attempts at quick turnarounds, the station is a mess. The complimentary salsa which is served out of a ketchup dispenser(already weird enough) is like the aftermath of a tomato throwing contest! Sauce everywhere! As messy as it sounds I will still continue my visits to Taco Luis.

This taco place in Oakridge is pretty good all things considered. The pricing isn’t bad, the service is quick, and the food is pretty good considered the cheap price. 2 tacos + tater tots + drink was. $ 8? Not bad. However, the menu looks like it was constructed by a 5-year old who thinks people read from right to left or something. That font also blows ass.

After 10 years of being a loyal customer I am saddened to say me and my family will no longer be returning to this food court staple. We have followed taco Luis from the beginning since it opened in landsdowne. We are saddened by its decline in taste, quality and customer service. The only thing that still remains good and true are the prices but that being said I would much rather pay the couple extra bucks to eat something me and my family would actually enjoy. We tried and kept thinking next time would be better, next time we would get the good old meal we remembered… That’s been going on for a couple of years now and now I’m finally writing this review because unfortunately enough is enough. No more last chances.

As far as three star fast food joints go this is a five star. Sound confusing, not really, its just the best at what it does and thats fill my old school taco need. Plus they have those most unMexican tater tots that we were brought up on.

Nice guy but the food is not good, sorry. It is like an amateur trying to imitate Mexican food but not really successfully. That«guacamole» says it all.

LOVE their hot salsa. And I’m not the only one, because I’ve literally seen other people ask for a drink cup and fill it up with Taco Luis’ chunky homemade salsa. They also have good tater tots, which is pretty much all that I go for now. I dislike how they’ve raised their prices over the last two years and got rid of their 7″ taco size, because 10″ is too much for me. The owner, the guy, can be entertaining when assembling your order, some of the others though don’t seem as enthused and can have problems wrapping the tacos.

For the sheer quantity of food that you get for the price, yea it’s worth it. Is it the most amazing Tex-Mex I’ve ever had? Probably not, but if you’re on a budget, then damn they can totally give you the best bang for your buck. As a side note, although it’s not advertised, you can ask them for vegetarian instead of chicken or beef(comes with beans and rice instead)

As good as it gets. I’ve lived in Vancouver(and Richmond) my whole life, and only after starting bodybuilding, and thus dieting, last year did I realize that good food is either non-existent or costly. Except here. For under $ 5, and much of that is meat or chicken, you can get nearly a pound of delicious delicious food to satisfy even the hungriest of moments. To this day I simply *have to* stop and eat here if I can be in the area around mealtime. If you’re on a diet like I was, pass on the sauce and carrots; just do a salad for virtually zero carbs. Good luck finding that –anywhere– else in the lower mainland for anything remotely near that price and convenience. Asking for extra meat(or anything) is next to free too, instead of a kick in the teeth like at most places. I recall going to Taco Del Mar, and getting something extremely similar for $ 8.95 plus tax, twice the price! Recently though, satisfaction might vary depending on which staff member serves you(the longer they’ve been around the better). But still as good as it gets for the nutrition and value. Keep an eye out for the owner, and try to start conversation with him if you see him, you won’t regret it! As a thought, if I ever became impoverished and still had to buy my own food, a large chunk of my meals would be here.

Amazing food and portion sizes! I cannot get enough of their taco salad with the tater tots. I always add chicken. Need a quick cheap meal which will fill your stomach? Then Taco Luis!

For some really odd reason. I love food court tacos. From taco bells in the states, to taco time at other major shopping malls, and wherever else there are tacos in the food courts, I just really enjoy them. Maybe it’s the price or the taste of fast food quality tacos, or something completely else. I found Taco Lui’s while randomly walking around Oakridge one day and immediately knew I needed to try it. Their prices are good, the tacos are packed, and the returning customers they had that stood in front of me seemed like really awesome people. What I really enjoyed about taco luis is how big these tacos get. Much better value than taco time. If I’m ever craving tacos again in that area, this is definitely the place I’ll head back to.

Great value for a small food-court establishment. The food is great too; every time I have ordered, I have been satisfied. One great thing is that they serve tatertots, which is a welcome change from other food-courts and their generic frozen fries. These all go well with the spicy salsa. And this is all being talked about before the owner. The guy is great. I see the service as an extra treat before the meal. The guy’s always joking around with you and making each trip to the Oakridge food court memorable. I never thought«trips to a food court being memorable» would be a proper sentence in English, but I guess in this case, I’ve been proven wrong~ DaSHAWN«Gwiyomi» Haynes-Warren ^^

TACOLUISISTHEBOMB(i dont think that term is used much anymore but ill go with it.) The owner is helarious. Spark up a conversation with him next time you are there… I usually get the 10″ special with beef or chicken. It comes with tots but If you ask you can get mexican style rice instead. Puts me just over 6 bucks including a drink. The 10″ barrito is loaded! You need to go on an empty stomach to finish it off. I will keep coming back, keep up the good work!

I’ve NEVER loved Mexican food, but one day, just randomly, I decided to give Taco Luis a try. You can see it is a family run business, not the normal fast food chains in the Oakridge food court. It has homemade signs, pictures of the food they serve on a banner etc. My expectations were low, but the moment I bit into my chicken taco and tattertots, I fell in love. Burritos are big and full of ingredients. Tatter tots are made fresh. I come here at least once a week now and continuously love the service this place provides. Luis is a funny guy, I see him training the newbies often and he seems like quite the patient man. Everyone has a smile on their face. I’m glad I gave this Mexican place a try. :) One of my go to places whenever I want a nibble in Oakridge.

After hearing all the hype about Taco Luis and the man behind the business(youtube him), I thought I’d give it a try. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing, but I figured you can’t really go wrong with a Chicken Burrito. One bite and I wanted to throw it out. It tasted like a bunch of ingredients from a can mixed together and wrapped in a tortilla. There wasn’t much chicken, the carrots(!) were not a good match, and when I ordered they didn’t even put beans in it — i had to ask for them. Furthermore, the salsa and guac were from a jar — what’s not to like about this? While it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg for it, first impressions do count and I don’t think i’ll be going back there anytime soon.

Taco Luis had been my go-to pick in the Lansdowne Mall(well, until Empanadas came, then it was a toss-up). I’m not vouching for authenticity(it’s Asian-owned), but I like it. So I was pleasantly surprised to find them in Oakridge. I asked them if they moved, and was told no, it’s an expansion. Congratulations! I tried the crispy burritos for the first time. It was like a thicker version of 7-Eleven taquitos, but freshly deep-fried when you order. I had one chicken and one beef. They both had a Bolognaise-type tomato/onion sweetness. I liked the beef, but the chicken was too sweet. They also have a Beans option: I wonder if that’s more Mexican? Now, only if they had churros…
