We never saw this coming but randomly attended the annual Steveston Dragon Boat Festival this past Saturday! Our goal was to visit the fairy tale town of Storybrooke (which is actually Steveston in Richmond) from the tv show Once Upon a Time (from ABC), but on our way to Steveston, we discovered the dragon boat festival!
All the racing was happening by the waterfront near the shipyards /​bunk houses, and we were in for a treat. Over 20+ teams were there to compete, free goodies were being passed out, and free drinks/​food trucks were around too. It was a good time to be a spectator! Weather was all around nice and sunny.
