Came here today for lunch and I was extremely impressed with everything. Service was good, our waitress was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. I like the décor and the booths were quite comfortable. The food was excellent quality — I ordered the seafood pesto linguine and it was amazing. The portion sizes were reasonable and everything in my dish was cooked perfectly. All of the flavours blended extremely well and the presentation was beautiful. I couldn’t believe that something of this quality was only $ 16.00! My grandpa ordered a chicken club sandwich which looked delicious — it was served on a ciabatta bun and the french fries he ordered it with were perfectly seasoned. Lots of beer choices were available and a lot of the local brands were available on tap(I recommend Race Rocks!). Will definitely be returning when I am in this area again :-)

Through the years, it has been a natural local go-to, however mixed results on my two latest visits… The alfresco balcony surrounded by flowering hanging baskets is a warm summer night draw. My partner gave the lamb shank($ 19) four stars because it was meaty, well flavoured and tender. My Thai Prawn Curry Garganelli($ 15.50) was flavourful and creamy with nice crunch of apples and onions, red peppers, and almond. The prawns plentiful and fresh tasting. But what was I thinking — pasta was not a good fusion, it was too heavy and overbearing. This curry should be placed with jasmine or Thai rice, rice noodles or even on top of a stiff leaf or texture salad of sorts. A Fall lunch inside with friends. .. the halibut open-face sandwich($ 15.50) was fishy tasting, weird sheen and flaking off the fork, like cod to me, not meaty, mild halibut. I mentioned it casually to the server and he came back from the kitchen to reassure me it was halibut however it was frozen and perhaps less than ideal tail end cut(?). I didn’t want to fuss, but my friends agreed with the server for a replacement, which did taste fresher, and I let them finish it for me — still disappointed. Although their crepes and blackened chicken wrap were fine by them.

Med Grill has become a monthly tradition for my boyfriend and me. Every month they feature a new«Tuscan Table» where you get to sample an antipasto, a soup/salad, an entrée, and a dessert. It’s so much fun to try something new every month and its always so tasty! One time they ran out of the fish entrée for the tuscan table and i can’t eat any other kind of meat, so they substituted in another entrée from the main menu for me, i got to try the cedar plank brie, it was to die for, so incredibly tasty. The loss of one star comes from the service. Sometimes we have great service and sometimes it is below average. The waitresses are cute and young but some don’t really seem like they care much about their jobs and providing the best service they can, there was a bit of a lack of attention and going the extra mile. But all and all, this place is definitely worth a try, we will certainly be back.

I really enjoyed Med Grill. Ambiance is pleasant. You don’t feel crowded in. Food quite good. I had the Tuscan Table — a 4 course set menu. It started with a Tomato Risotto Croquette, which was yummy. Then I had the Poached Apple and Pecan Salad which was excellent. I upgraded the Main Course to the Sirloin Steak which was also very good(the sauce was amazing). My one regret was I should have chosen the carrot cake. I had a custard(of sorts) which was sort of bland. I tasted the carrot cake and it was terrific. Best of all, this was all very reasonably priced. I will definitely go again.

2ndUPDATE: After months of boycotting this restaurant, I’ve since been back a dozen times or so and it’s been good. Their 4-course Tuscan Table is wonderful, and at a reasonable price. Med Grill really knows their beef dishes, those seem to be the best(although I haven’t ordered another burger). I’m glad I gave it another chance! We eat here regularly again now. Word of advice: ALWAYS offer a complete refund if the customer cannot eat your food. All it takes is one bad experience to drive someone away! UPDATE: Customer Service contacted me and I will give Med Grill another chance. Will post another update then. We’ve eaten here a half-dozen times since moving to the area 6 weeks ago. Last Wednesday(Aug 5) I was looking forward to returning to the Med Grill for a late lunch with my daughter. I was very hungry and ordered the hamburger. When it came, I took several bites and noticed that the meat was tough(but the bacon made it all taste better). The burger started tasting very bitter almost half-way through so I opened it up and the meat that was left was burned completely BLACK! There was a piece of cheddar over it, but after scraping the cheese off you could see it was burned 3 mm deep and the patty was tough like a puck. It looked like it had been cooked earlier, then reheated and burned. Seriously, what is a burger except for the meat? It’s just bread and some vegetables, the meat is the most important part, especially if you are paying $ 14+ for one ground beef patty. It was truly disgusting, and after showing the waitress the black patty, she took off only $ 3.50 from our bill. That’s not good enough for the sub-par food I was served. I usually can eat only half a burger and I take the other half home to eat later when I am hungry again. I had explained to the waitress that I would not have the rest of my meal later, but she didn’t care and I didn’t need to worry. Not only was I not hungry later, but I threw up the half burger I did eat. The burnt taste stayed in my mouth all night.

Love everything about this place. Pleasant staff, great food value, nice open atmosphere. Only drawback is it can get very busy

We love going to Med Grill for a casual weekend meal. Their food is above average, and combined with their friendly staff, funky décor and also above average drink menu and I’m hooked! The Tuscan Kitchen menu(apologies if I’m saying that incorrectly) is a terrific, unique idea that I recommend to others on a frequent basis. They also have a phenomenal patio that surrounds a garden. Oh, and of course, the Med Bread — the greatest invention since sliced… well, you get the idea.

I’ve been there twice, I won’t be returning. As another reviewer had noted, the staff is ‘cute’ and friendly but my experience has been, not very attentive to the details. Having to ask repeatedly for a coffee is a small thing but irritating. The food ranged from great to so so. The bacon wrapped scallops and seafood fettuccine were good, my NY striploin, below par.

Nothing bad to say here! Great food for a fair price, friendly staff providing quick service. They have a Nice patio surrounding a garden/orchard. I had the ribs and Thai salad, both superb. I’ll definitely be back! Absolutely stellar experience.

Don’t let the ugly sign out front fool you. This is the best resteraunt in Victoria. We love the service, the food, the atmosphere. Everything but the sign is soooo good.

I have been coming to this restaurant for about 12 or so years now and that doesn’t mean I went there once 12 years ago and just went again last week. I have probably been there at least 30 – 40 times maybe even more, I’ve lost count. Never once have I been even close to dissapointed. The staff have come and gone over the years however they always seem to hire the most courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. The food is fantastic and the menu is updated pretty regularly, which allows for some break in the monotony. They have a 4 course meal for 18.99 and it changes constantly so you always get to try something new. The parking is pretty tight but I always find a spot. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, atmosphere and service. I noticed some people in other reviews complaining about it being crowded, busy and long wait times. Is that something indicative of a bad restaurant?! No way! it is a sure sign of success!

Very enjoyable! I have had the 4 course dinner special several times, and it was good every time. Very good value, would go back any time.

After seeing all of the negative reviews, I caved in to my cousin on eating here. Ensuring that the management knew of my concerns of both the food quality and the chef’s abilities, we were seated outide on their raised deck. Just beautiful! Quiet, quaint, and secluded. The wait staff was cute, attentive and accommodating. We had the Tuscan dinner and the food quality was good. The preparation and value was what made this place excellent. I think the price was $ 18.99 for a three course meal. It’s hard to beat that. The wait staff even got us the bread pudding(that was not on the Tuscan feast menu. Kuddos on that. Give this place a chance. The

Food is decent but not amazing. Reasonably close to my office so we go there time to time. Prices are better than the fireside across the street and food is comparable.

If you’re coming here on a date, make dinner time later, say, 8:30? That way you’ll miss the dinner rush, and your date will(if sane) have succumbed to nibbling on something before seeing you, which is a must because the portions here are small. Big stomach? Don’t even think about ordering fish unless you’re going to walk down the street to McDonald’s later to follow the nice $ 30 appetizer you just had. Better yet, have the McDonald’s first then come here for the sticky toffee pudding, which is probably one of my favourite desserts ever. The sticky toffee pudding has single-handedly earned my 3 stars.
