The Olive Grove Restaurant

We went there 2/​13, the night before Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t busy but the service would have suggested otherwise. It was friendly but slow and intermittent. Simple requests like a wedge of citrus in my club soda were forgotten between the table and the bar. The food was tasty but only warm and the lamb chops were really tough/​over cooked. I won’t be back.

The excellent Mediterranean food this place has always been famous for is back! We had a variety of dishes, including the calamari appy (good sized, seasoned, not greasy, nicely plated and traditionally thick tzatziki), the calamari dinner (lots of calamari, fresh Greek salad, marinated potatoes and pita) and a pizza (lots of toppings, very cheesy). I think the new owners had a couple of hiccups over the first year they were open, but they are incredibly sweet and have obviously made some positive and noticeable changes. As well, whoever they have in the kitchen has really amped it up. Generous portions and good quality food will have me coming back again.

This place was awesome, we were visiting from out of town for a Triathlon and needed a pre-​race carbo loading, each dish was cooked to perfection, and tasted exceptionally well. We had pasta dishes and pizza. Our waitress was very new, however, she did an excellent job and we really felt like we were being treated like rockstars. I rarely write reviews but in this instance I just had too because this place is so good. We are in Victoria for one more day and are planning to go back again tonight.

This place changed ownership about a year ago and the food quality has gone progressively downhill since then. They say they are using the same recipes as before but, sadly, it’s just not the same.
The lamb used to be a favourite of my partner and I but after this last visit we will not be returning. The meat and gravy was bland and the gravy was a different colour than it used to be, our potatoes were burnt, the onions in the Greek salad were dry and rubbery and the tomatoes were over ripe and mushy.
We sent it back and ordered a Calamari, which hasn’t changed, it’s still very good.
The lamb we sent back was not removed from our bill or even discounted in any way. No apologies were made, and our waitress and the owner were discussing our disappointment in our meal very loudly within earshot of us which we found quite rude.

Great owners who treat all warmly. The roast lamb is it die for. The moussaka was cooked with perfection. try their veal & you will know the difference .All pleasant all around. !!

It’s ok the food is nothing special but it good quality nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about either it was an average meal

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and fast service. Food was not amazing but pretty tasty. They were out of lamb at around 19:30 on a Saturday night. Chicken souvlaki I ordered was a little dry. Calamari was really good.
I would expect more Greek dishes at a Greek restaurant such as Dolmates or Keftedes as main course!

This place was very cute and quiet. We went for lunch and I ordered the lamb, my boyfriend ordered the moussaka. It was a huge portion of lamb, especially for the price, and It was delicious. I had a taste of the moussaka and it was very good also, I even traded some of my lamb for it!
