We had take out chicken dinners and they were very disappointing. Old cold fries, a couple of honey packets and a hard white bun. The chicken was good. So disappointed. I wanted to love it.

Décor is that of a biker bar. Not a nice atmosphere. That being said I keep going back because this place has the best fried chicken in the city. Their fried chicken gizzards are amazing and the staff are always delightful.

McCarthy’s is a good, solid dive bar with tasty food. If you can’t stand fried food, or if you would be disgusted to sit on shredded upholstery, this might not be the place for you.
Chicken wings come with a variety of sauces. The best is the BBQ (medium spice was just right for me). If you are from the U.S., and like Buffalo chicken sauce, you need to order the BBQ sauce here. Don’t be fooled by the sauce named «Buffalo,» which must mean something else in Canada. Lucky for me, I was here with locals and they steered me in the right direction. I got a chicken patty sandwich and covered it with the tasty BBQ sauce. McCarthy’s has a good beer selection, too.
