If you go to one restaurant in Sarnia, this is the place to try! It is amazing on every level — the beer selection, atmosphere, creative dishes, etc. The ingredients are locally grown, the beer selection is from all around Ontario, they have local artists play one night a week and local art pieces around the restaurant. It’s a really great experience!

The front door is a great place to come if you want to support a restaurant of warm, friendly people who support the local economy buy using local produce, meat and beers. I came to the front door yesterday to have a late lunch. Being the day after an event downtown there was only one other person there who is a regular and he and the staff invited me to sit at the bar and talk with them so I wouldn’t have to eat and drink alone. The whole staff was so friendly that I ended up staying for several hours because I enjoyed their company and genuine kindness so much. The music that they play here is hip and upbeat and adds to the social atmosphere. They also have board games like operation that you can play which are especially fun after a drink or two. Now for the food. I had the chilli, which as stated on the menu really is the thickest chilli I have ever had! It was served with some of the most addictive fries I have ever tasted. The meal was so filling that I ended up taking a lot home with me. The price of the food reflects what is put into it and also the portion sizes. There is no skimping and cutting corners here. If you are looking for a place to have a good meal, good drinks and also meet new people the Front Door is the best place in Sarnia.

There is seriously no need to look for other restaurants if you’re in Sarnia. I travel through the Sarnia border crossing often for school and stop here quite often. The food is fantastic. They’ve recently updated their menu and added a few tasty dishes. The service is great and the owner and staff are very friendly, especially to out-of-towners passing through. The atmosphere is very chill and sticks out in comparison to other places in the area. Their beer selection is very diverse, with alot of nice craft selections, and is priced well. Overall great place. Give it a shot!

We went to The Front Door for lunch because of the review from 10/14/2014. We were not disappointed!!! A must place to go whether your a local or from out of town!

Awesome food, the owner, Jake, is super friendly and accommodating and great with his customers. The beer selection is great, and I love how they focus so much on using local meat and produce for their menu items — this makes a huge difference for me(eat local!). Drinks are great, the location is perfect, and the design/décor is the best Sarnia has ever seen. During the day, it is a great place to go for lunch or dinner, and then later on it turns into a great bar scene, which is so cool. It’s not very often that you see a restaurant successfully transform into a bar with great dance music, but they’ve made it work! They have different DJs and musicians in there all the time, and they are literally the only bar in Sarnia that plays actual good EDM music. A nice change of pace from hearing other bars play lame 90s one-hit wonder songs on repeat! Haha It’s much classier than most of the restaurants in Sarnia, in regards to food quality, atmosphere, patrons, etc. When you come for lunch or dinner, you can actually hear yourself talk — no blaring music or guests yelling obnoxiously. It makes it so much more enjoyable. Prices are good, too, for such a nice place. I highly recommend coming here — food = delish; music = bomb, atmosphere = love it!

Best beer selection in town. Dozens of Ontario craft brews, including some I had never heard of. Great food too. They use as many locally sourced ingredients possible.
