Swiss Chalet

I drive from NE Edmonton when I want SC. The one that is closest to me SUCKS and I would rather driver the extra 10 minutes for prompt service. This place always seems fast even when packed. We even had a party of over 20 once and it went smoothly.

Second time after 4years of coming back here and still disappointed. I gave three for the fair service.

Had delivery from here. NOT IMPRESSED. Food was cold and chicken was DRY. My chicken loving kids would not eat it, and my husband and brother could barely choke their down. The only reason for a second star was that the wrap I got was not bad, although I had to drown it in Chalet sauce because the chicken was so dry.

Food is decent. The restaurant inside is decent. The service is a little slow.
But if you want to do anything related to take out and pick up, be prepared to turn over every ounce of your personal information. That makes for quite a long interrogation on the telephone when all you want to do is order some stupid chicken.
I don’t think I have come across a restaurant situation quite as invasive and privacy insensitive as Swiss chalet. I will definitely look elsewhere from now on.
update; if you order by phone & use the toll-​free number be careful. I spent too much time trying to tell the phone attendant we do not have 13% tax and he insisted I be ready to pay a couple dollars more. invasive questioning as to address postal code and ongoing information still exists. They refused to take merely a name for pick up. very uncool in this time of big corporate database hacks and user information theft.
Second time I decided to try calling the local phone number. When you are quoted the options of «included» side dishes you are not told there are extra charges on particular items. if you have a meal coupon, be prepared to pay dollars more then the base price. I spoke to the manager and suggested staff be told when to inform customers sticker prices are going to be higher, but this has proven not to have been implemented.

This Swiss Chalet in Sherwood Park is pretty decent. It has a nicer feel to it than many others in this chain. There are a few plants scattered throughout the restaurant and a warm cozy feel. Many Swiss Chalets I have been in tend to be stark and unfriendly.
Our food came amazingly fast and mine was so hot I had to wait a bit to eat it.
I had a bowl of the chicken chowder soup and it was delicious. Very generous serving size with lots of creamy chunks of potatoes, chicken and bacon. I also had the chicken spring rolls which were quite tasty, although a wee bit greasy.
Hubs had the old standby of ¼ chicken and fries. He found it tasty, but left wishing he had ordered more.
The thing I was most impressed about with this chain is that when we explained there were some dietary issues, they brought us a nice pamphlet that named all their menu items and what the allergy issues might be. If you can’t have eggs, dairy, nuts, gluten, etc. it was all listed right there.
It was great to be able to look it over and not have to ask the waitress question after question. The added bonus was we were able to take the brochure with us so we can decide ahead of time if we need to.
Overall, a pleasant place to grab a quick bite of good food.
