One of the best hotel bistros. Eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. Located right on the Pacific with views of Mt. Baker, the restaurant has an active, cool bar and a lovely patio. Delightful servers, an outstanding wine/cocktail list, and extensive, beautifully prepared menu items make this a great lunch/dinner/cocktail spot in Sidney. And worth the drive from Victoria.

Christmas Dinner 2015 — Five course meal for $ 75(DOESNOTINCLUDECOFFEE!!!) Salmon Amuse Bouche, Celeriac soup, roasted vegetable salad, Turkey or Duck, Cheesecake or Bundt cake for dessert. Sounds good right? The server was a delight and very cheery for christmas day. So starts the meal: The courses were coming out so fast that we felt we needed to hold our forks in mid-air to delay the next course arriving too soon. Salmon Amuse Bouche was a two bite deliciousness. Celeriac soup was so flavourless that we needed to almost take the lid off the salt shaker and pour it in. Roasted veggie salad was good minus the pomegranate seeds. Now this takes us to the Turkey dinner. They served TURKEYROLL!(If we had known this we would have kept our reservation at the Lure downtown Victoria.) On my plate there was three pieces of turkey roll including the butt end which had the tell tale«puckers» of being the end inside the plastic casing of the turkey roll. It was dry and unpalatable. Period. Such a disappointment for christmas dinner and I could only eat one piece. Dessert was a typical restaurant dessert. We each had and paid for wine at the table and then ordered coffee to end the evening. Much to our surprise THEYCHARGEDUSFOROURCOFFEES! which for $ 3.50 each they could have included that in this 5-course christmas dinner for $ 75. Certainly will reserve at a better restaurant next year and do my due diligence and ask the stupid question«will you be serving sliced roasted turkey ORTURKEYROLL?!!

Food is average. Would expect more for the price point of the menu! Wine is decent. Would i recommend this to my friends. No.

Drove up one afternoon from Victoria and spent the afternoon in this neat little town… found this great restaurant on the water. The bartender was a hoot, the beer was very cold and the service, overall was great. Sat out on the patio and watched the absolutely fattest sea gulls you will ever see. Normally I would say every thing in Texas is bigger, but in this case, our gulls don’t hold a candle to the huge gulls here. Food was great, but the atmosphere was so great that even if the food was average, you get your money’s worth.

Very good quality for Sidney. Aside from great views and professional, courteous staff you’ll find a great wine list — and local drought beer for $ 5/pint! Highly recommends are the salt and pepper chicken wings — good example of what a difference sourcing from local, organic farms. Special events are frequent — ie film nights starting late Oct with free popcorn and $ 25 bottle wines! Italian nights too. Love music 2x/week. Plentiful free street parking. Formal dining in the back and more casual up front facing the bar.

The view was nice, as we were seated near the window. Cannot wait to go back in the summer and sit on the patio. The staff were friendly and the service was good, but a little slow. The restaurant décor was new and different. It was bright, which was refreshing for a dinner. I would definitely return. We ordered the pulled pork pizza as an appetizer. The crust was thin and light, the pulled pork was flavorful, and there was a bit of a kick from the banana peppers. We also had the bottomless soup of the day, which was potato bacon leek. It was very yummy and thick in consistency. No need for salt or pepper. The flavor was awesome. We also ordered the chicken carbonara pasta. I liked how the pasta seemed homemade and the bacon used was authentic, not artificial. I would order it again, next time I go.

On Mondays the«comfort» section of the menu is at a reduced price($ 15). I tried the bangers and mash – lamb sausages with sautéed kale and, of course, mashed potatoes with a lovely gravy. Also really good sourdough baked on the premises. Simply exquisite…

Went there for take out lunch a couple years ago and was very disappointed. Got the crab cakes, they were super tiny and expensive. But redemption, I was just there for lunch and had the buffet and it was really good. The service was really good.

This place is much better than the 3 stars suggests! Great location right on the water, friendly service, clean facilities, and great food! You can’t really ask for much more on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered their specialty pizza of the day which was a bacon, mushroom, goat cheese, onion, tomato sauce, and barbecue sauce base. As peculiar as this sounds the flavors worked wonders together! My fiancée ordered their Margherita pizza and it tasted fresh and delicious as well. They have many beers on draft and a good venue, I’d recommend this place to anyone!

as a vegetarian, often the only thing on any menu is a pasta dish. this restaurant had a few more options, but i decided to try the pasta anyway. it sounded interesting because it featured navy beans. interesting, right? well, yes. the first few bites were mighty tasty with the crispy cruch of those beans to counter the soft pasta and peas and creamy sauce. a few bites in the novelty had worn off, and the beans remained. i have to say — the beer was mighty tasty. i liked that the only beers on draught were locally brewed. when i travel for work, i usually sit at the bar of restaurants. it makes me feel less alone. this time, i sat at the bar and yet the bartender hardly spoke to me. so alone i was — but with the free wifi, i could cruise Unilocal and figure out where i was going for breakfast the next day. not a bad place, all in all.

An upscale dining establishment in Sidney? I know, it seems unreal but it’s true. I had dinner here a week ago and thought it was worth a nod. The wine list is reasonably well thought out, dinner is fairly expected with french/italian/american new categories represented. Everything we ordered met my expectations. We had courteous and timely service from the staff. The atmosphere is subdued and elegant with gas fire features everywhere we looked. The effect a bit much and the smell of gas in the entry way is a turn-off. When people enter a restaurant they should smell… any ideas? Food. The answer is food. I digress. I know it seems like a small detail but I nearly left in the first 10 steps inside.
