Lovely little place on the pier! I went with the Halibut and Salmon Quiche with a side of soup(which, by the way, is an amazing way to warm up the belly on a blustery day). The quiche was spot on with a light flaky crust and chock full of fish pieces. The photo of the inside doesn’t do it justice because after a few more bites, the pieces of halibut and salmon became distinctly larger but I was too enraptured by the overall deliciousness to snap a better picture and ended up devouring it rather quickly. The side of soup was hot and hearty. Once you give it a good mix, you realize instantly just how much salmon they put in it. I think it was salmon at least, but I could be wrong. I know I was a yummy kind of fish regardless! And it was a big bowl of soup too which pleased me. Overall a tasty and filling lunch! Great place to snag a bite to eat if you find yourself hungry and in the area :)

Good fish and chips, good children’s menu, good views, friendly service, but dress warm in the summer — doors open and wind blowing — hey why not, it’s summer!

OMG. You would be sorry if you didn’t stop here. It appears they are secret. 9:30 on a Sunday and not at all busy. Parking is a ways back but worth it. My meal started with a mimosa… yummy. Cannot go wrong with a mimosa in the morning. I got there breakfast special which is 2 crab cake eggs Benny. Best poached eggs ever. The hollandaise sauce was amazing. I have no words to describe the crab cakes other than you have to try them. The staff was super friendly. Still trying to figure out why there wasn’t an hour wait. This place is a must stop.

My husband and I stumbled on this gem while staying nearby in Cordova Bay. We heard from locals it was great, and actually made a drive to Sidney especially to eat there(side note: Sidney is super close to the ferry port, so if you are headed from Vancouver to Victoria or vice versa, this makes a perfect lunch spot stop on your way). My husband got the fish & chips and I had the clam chowder. So good! It’s pub-seafood type fare done well. The resaurant itself sits right on the end of the pier and is cozy and charming inside – plus the view is to die for. There were lots of locals dining inside(laughing and enjoying themselves … utterly cheery vibe) and the waitress was very warm and welcoming. So glad we got to try it!

I have had nothing but good experiences with the eateries in Sidney and the Pier Bistro is no exception. On a sunny Saturday 4 of us with 2 dogs waited less than 10 minutes for an outside table. Service was very efficient without being a pain. The 4 different items were really good and the prices were very reasonable. I will be a regular.

Fantastic food and service! Also has reasonable prices for restaurants in Sidney. We ate here yesterday and came back for dinner today. Chicken and mango soup was the daily soup-terrific! Oyster burger was exceptional.

Cozy restaurant with perfect ocean view. Their clam chowder is the best I ever have. The service is excellent. I enjoyed a lazy afternoon here!

I had the Cobb Salad for dinner, and it wasn’t what I expected from a Cobb Salad, but it was sooo much better! I wolfed it down and kinda embarrassed myself in front of my in-laws. The lettuce was as fresh as you can get, I think they make a bleu-cheese-type dressing from scratch, which was perfectly complimented by grapes and homemade(lightly seasoned I think? and) roasted nuts. Topped with the juiciest sliced chicken I have ever had on a salad, and a ciabatta roll. For about $ 12, you aren’t going to find a better salad. And I enjoyed the 270 degree view.

Good location on the water. Friendly but slow service here(admittedly they were full). Food was ok but not memorable. There’s definitely better fish and chips elsewhere, so if there’s a line-up, move along.

Cute little bistro with good prices and a fabulous view! Staff was extremely friendly. Will be back for sure. Only thing I didn’t like was the take out containers are styrofoam:(

Quaint little pier spot, looked a little honkey and a tad touristy, but actually a nicer view on the water than some of the more upscale restaurants on the Sidney waterfront. This place reminded me of Key West, Florida and only had one guy working out front on a Sunday. Cheery Aussie guy who I guess had a cook in the back. Had a few micros in bottles, I’m always happy to see island beer instead of Bud and Kokanee. A few house wine selections, one red and one white from BC. Chowder says award winning… don’t they all. Everybody and their mother enters their chowder in «Joe Blows Annual Chowder Cookoff». It was okay. Overall, I’d go back, probably for the view and price.

We drove up to this wonderful place from Victoria and discovered this little Bistro on the water. The bar tender was a hoot, a nice young man. We sat outside on the deck… had a windscreen to keep the cool breeze off of us. Food was great, service very good. Great view. Whole town was neat and the people friendly.

Cute, quaint, tiny restaurant on the pier with the best ocean and Mt. Baker views of any restaurant in Sidney. I enjoyed the seafood sandwich on multi-grain with fresh, cut fries($ 12.95). Not plentiful of seafood, but adequate and tasting freshly mixed with mayo, with lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion slivers. My partner enjoyed the seafood quiche, topped with Hollandaise with fries($ 13.95). Lunch service was friendly and timely.

This tiny place serves probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. I ordered the halibut and it was crispy golden on the outside and tender meaty on the inside. This was the best tarter sauce I’ve ever had. I think it’s homemade. I ordered out, so I can’t really rate the dining experience but waiting in the restaurant was still a pleasant experience. The huge body of water cradles your appetite and warms it up for top-notch seafood. The staff I interacted with was friendly, professional, and courteous. The clientele that I saw wasn’t very cool. Old people who were a bit rude or pretentious, it seemed. Don’t let them sway you; take over with your youth and/or awesome disposition. This place needs more attention — for everyone’s sake. I doubt I’d ever make it out that way again, unfortunately, as I’d love to give them another shot. I could imagine myself taking a date out that way for an amazing meal.

Was there with the family last week and it was great. The salmon fish and chips were really good. The batter was nice and light and the fish was fresh. My wife and mother in law had the chowder and crab cakes and they couldn’t praise them enogh. Priced reasonably I suppose. For three adults and a kids meal for my daughter came to under 60 $ with taxes and tip. If you are looking for a good fish and chips or something of the sort, I’d recommend checking this place out.

located right on the Pier beside the Fish Market, this small bistro type restraunt has outside seating or inside with a million dollar view. We had breakfast there before the Sidney Days parade and it was delicious. It is a must see for tourists and you can’t leave Sidney without taking in this view. My cousin had the Crab Cakes with poached eggs and I had the old fashioned Bacon and eggs. I will definatley go back and next time I will sit outside and breath in the ocean air.

HUGE disappointment!!! This place looks like the real deal, being located right at the end of the pier and right next door to a seafood wholesaler, but beware — especially when you see all the fake plants and fake flowers outside. We stopped in at The Pier Bistro to take in some seafood before heading back to the states and were shocked that the«crab & shrimp» sandwich that we ordered consisted of imitation crab meat and bay shrimp. I can’t believe that with being located right next to a wholesale crab distributor, they still had the audacity to serve up imitation crab meat, which was not indicated on the menu as «imitation crab» so they really duped us. Not to mention, the sandwich was $ 12. Imitation crab meat is referred to as surimi, which is a fish-based food product intended to mimic the texture and color of the meat of lobster, crab and other shellfish. It is typically made from white-fleshed fish(such as pollock or hake fish) that has been pulverized to a paste and attains a rubbery texture when cooked — absolutely disgusting! The service at The Pier Bistro was very pleasant and honest as even the waitress told us they didn’t use real crab — after the fact, of course. But serving up fake crab is inexcusable for a place like this!
