Absolute worst dining experience in my entire life! Worse than Cuba: absolutely no taste to the stuff! Lamb Burger was a joke: How can they get away with that? If not with family I would have left and simply be gone! Avoid this joint t all cost and buy your food at some local fast food joint — you’ll be glad you did! Never again…

As a bunch of Californians finishing a big hike at Stawamus Chief, I don’t think we could have found a better spot to finish the day. We visited lots of breweries on our road trip up and down the American West Coast and British Columbia — this one, despite it being perhaps the least famous one we knew of, was easily our favorite. It was warm and friendly, and the food and beer were absolutely top-notch. Cheers!

Great bar atmosphere, best for beer and appetizers. The pizzas were good for sharing and the burgers ideal. Great place to stop after hiking in the area or ending a drive on Sea/Sky highway. Not really a place for kids.

This Chorizo pie is outstanding! Accompanied with a Sky Pilot Pale Ale and life is good. Service is stellar and worth the wait. Now sampling the Log Driver Pale Ale! Do miss out on this fan fav. I would be remiss to not point out that the gravy for the fries is exceptional.

Howe Sound brewery is located at the end of road, but amazing selection of beer made in-house and partners well with the food menu. Ordered a calamari, Mussels with coconut sauce, Bacon wrapped with meat, and a beer sampler. The calamari was crispy and was deep fried in fresh oil. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Paired with tartar sauce. Good portion Mussels paired with coconut sauce. The sauce wasn’t heavy and brought the flavors of the mussels with each bite. Bacon wrapped meat was very filling and rich. Again, good portions and very appetizing. Lastly I chose the beer sampler with the honey lager, whitecaps, stout, and one with chocolate taste. First 2 were very light and had a sweet taste. Increases the appetite with each sip. The latter darker selections were heavier in comparison. But all were very unique and fresh! PS. We sat on the patio on a very breezy Saturday but managed to get a sunburn. Definitely worth coming back in the summer months!

This place is a great place to come and have good eats and great beer… staff is friendly and always willing to answer questions. They have a wide selection of beer to choose from… a pub side and a restaurant side so it’s accommodating for a wide variety. Also it has excellent views of the chief and more… highly recommend

Howe Sound Brewing Co is a large interior, mess hall atmosphere. Lots of Tv’s with sports playing. Service was ok, I asked the server about one of the dishes. Bison Wonton, and she told me it’s like an appetizer and comes with a dip. I ordered the Bison and French onion soup. When she delivered my order, she forgot the dip for the Bison wonton’s. It took her awhile to get the dip for me. Kind of a fail in my mind. French onion soup was ok, not the best i’ve ever had but the serving was large. The bison wonton’s are a pass for me. The dipping sauce was good once she delivered it, but there wasn’t much taste to the wonton’s besides the semi-sweet sauce that eventually came with it. To top it off, I ordered water with my meal and finished it when she deliver my meal and never refilled my water. Not a very attentive server. Going to pass on returning to this restuaurant as there are a lot more and better run establishments close by.

Came here over the weekend for lunch. Was on the way to Whistler, but got hangry along the way. This is located at the end of the street. Inside, the venue is beautiful. Wide open space, natural light, andhigh ceilings. Food, however, was average at best. Had the poutine and chicken wings to start. The poutine was alright I thought, but maybe because I was so hungry anything would have tasted great. The cheese was very cheesy and stringy, but the gravy was on the watery side. I had the bacon wrapped bison meatloaf as my main. I don’t think I’ve ever had bison, but the meat was a tad dry and bland. The bacon was also tasteless. Starters came out fast, but the main took a while. Was completely done the starters and empty dishes were taken away and the main still hasn’t came out. Service was hit and miss. Server was quick with the water but disappeared when we wanted to order for a very long time. Then she was quick when we wanted the bill. All in all, would be a great place to relax and have a few beers. But I might go elsewhere for food.

We stopped for lunch here on our way down the sea to sky highway. We both had flights(four 5 oz pours for $ 8) and poutine($ 10). Great prices, excellent and quick service. Beers to go are about $ 7.50 for a small growler. Food was great and the bar staff was able to help us pick out some fantastic beers. It was hard to pick a favorite beer. The brew pub is warmly decorated and feels like a great place for après ski. Parking on the street was easy at noon on a weekday.

Howe Sound is the perfect place to stop for lunch in Squamish. Fantastic beers, good food and friendly staff, what more could you ask for? We particularly loved the beer flights– well, I love all drink flights(comes with the desire to try everything!) and as a non– IPA drinker, I was really impressed with their home brewed selection– most were very smooth and not bitter– and naturally we bought some to take with us. The food– we all enjoyed the food– the rainbow salad, Manhatten chowder(daily special) and yam fries were especially good. Part of our meat sharing platter was fantastic(the pulled pork and sausage) but we found the beef brisket a little dry. Howe Sound is a little off the beaten tracks of Squamish– just keep driving down the road pass all the shops till you get there and you’ll be rewarded.

Excellent service, great food and beer. My friend wanted to go here since she loves the beer from Howe Sound. So we came here for beer after hiking and this place was really good. I’m not a beer lover myself, but I liked it. I thought blueberry beer would be fruity, but rather tasted more like beer. It was pretty smooth though. I would have liked it better if I really tasted blueberries in it. Howe Sound Brewery is a great place to go to. And it seemed like busiest place in the neighborhood where customers kept coming in and out. Our waiting time only took 15 minutes and that was not bad at all. I enjoyed their Chorizo Pizza as well and love how the crust was so thin. It was so delicious.

Excellent Beer | Excellent Service | Cool Environment $$ First night in Squamish and we were recommended to hit up this place for dinner. I immediately fell in love with the place because it has that outdoor log cabin look with high ceilings and dim lighting. We didn’t have to wait at all, we just sat down. Everyone’s friendly. Great service. We never had to ask for our waitress. Beer? YUS, PLEASE! What’s awesome is that on the front of the menu, they list all of their beers, which is a good selection from some hoppy to dark smooth stouts. On the back of the menu, they list all of the appetizers, sides, entrees, and desserts that pair well with your beer selection. SOHELPFUL. I had the Rail Ale Nut Brown — smooth and not hoppy whatsoever, just how I like it! My husband had their Hef, a seasonal special, which was a dollar off for that day. Another excellent choice! The Hef had hints of banana, clove, and vanilla — wow! Food was great, too. I had the beef brisket and my husband had their veggie chili with jalapeño cornbread. YUM. After, we decided to get the chocolate hemp brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I haven’t had a brownie in so long, and this made me want even more! No complaints here. Great place to enjoy a drink and meal. We’ll be coming back again :)

The awesomeness scale of this place just increase with my last visit here. The main reason, their service is just out of this world. Coming back from another epic hike in the Squamish area, our group was not only weary, tired and hungry, but we were also hankering for some thing special — delicious beer floats. Before you say anything, no, Howe Sound doesn’t have them on their menu, but these guys were totally into it and provided us with ample scoops of ice cream and beer in no time. I swear, our servers eyes lit up at the thought of these creations. We made a pretty big mess on account of the ice cream reacting to the beer(try the vanilla ice cream with the«my boy blue» blue berry beer — amazing!) but our server took it in stride and threw in some extra napkins for good measure. Our off menu order was handled with great enthusiasm, food arrived quickly, and we had an awesome time. Hats off to you Howe Sound Brewing Co., you rock my world. Side note. you guys should totally offer beer floats as part of your menu!

So so so sad. I have heard so much about this place that I could not wait to try it. I heard their cheese and ale soup was amazing and of course I have always liked their beer. The place was always described to me as a must try. Usually I would give a place a second chance, but I just refuse to eat such crap food and wait for so long for service. Like many have said the service completely sucks. Not a little, alot. The waitresses are like leprechauns… Elusive shady creatures that are hard to catch and even harder to have a more than two second conversation with. And if they are hoarding gold in the kitchen, maybe that explains why everything that came out of it was such crap. Keeping the goods for yourselves eh? I ordered a BBQ pulled pork pizza, and my companions ordered burgers, one lamb, one regular. I noticed that our leprechaun, I mean server, was recommending burgers to all patrons… «They are legendary!» As a veteran in the restaurant industry I wondered immediately if the kitchen was slammed and she was trying to help smooth out the rush. Trixy trixy. So my pizza was covered in what tasted like sweet molasses and a extreme amount of raw walnuts(I would say about a cup) and a few fatty bits of pork. Hardly pulled, just nubs. I liked the idea of what a hint of walnuts could bring to this pizza, but I figured they would be toasted and an accent, instead I got bitter sweet walnut pizza, with so much cornmeal on the bottom I needed a vacuum to suck up the copious burnt bits. My compatriots burgers were exactly the same even though one was supposedly lamb while the other was beef. Both had curry Mayo and both said they were dry, boring and needed salt. We were all starving so we tried to make the best of it, burying ourselves in beer. I attempted to get something to dip my pizza in, and was delivered a side of curry Mayo. Yeah that will make my walnut molasses pizza taste better. Never trust hungry hungry hiking friends after they have conquered the Chief. They will eat anything and can’t be trusted. Never trust these leprechauns either. They promise gold, but you will just eat coal with a gilded price!

Beer: great! Food: ok. Bonus: view of The Chief from the patio. Howe Sound is one of my favourite breweries in the Vancouver area. They’ve been around since ’96, long before craft beer exploded in Vancouver. Although you can find Howe Sound in the liquor store, at the brew pub you have access to a wider variety of styles. They have perhaps a dozen year round beers(my favourite being the Rail Ale Nut Brown) as well as a few seasonal options(I like the Super Jupiter Grapefruit ISA in summer and the Pumpkin Ale in Fall). When I’ve come I get a couple flights to share($ 8 each for 45oz glasses) so I can try a variety of things. They do sell bottles to take away as well, but the prices seem to be higher than at the liquor store. I found the food here to be hit or miss, especially given the price point. It’s all fairly standard pub fare, but it’s not cheap(think $ 12 for a basic burger, $ 15+ if you want cheese) and I didn’t find the quality justified the price. For example, if I get a $ 16 plate of nachos I feel like it should be just loaded with toppings, but I didn’t find that to be the case. Not even any guacamole if I recall correctly. On my last couple visits I’ve just ordered beer then gone over to Mag’s 99 for food. If you can snag a seat on the patio, it can be a nice spot to drink a beer while taking in the view of The Chief after a hike.

Sehr empfehlenswert !

Best spot in Squamish! This is my favourite spot after a long hike! The beer selection is good, and the waiters are usually pretty friendly. The wait for the food is a little long, but not that bad. I have only became a regular here recently, so I can’t tell if the quality of the food has gone down like the others have mentioned. This is pretty standard for pub food. Definitely not fine dining. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends!
