Apex Casino

APEX casino in St. Albert is a great small town casino with ample parking and none of the hustle and bustel you’d get from going to the casino at WEM. I am sad to say that their poker room closed a year or two back. If there’s any chance of bringing it back, please do so APEX! I know slot machines are popular and all but they are everywhere, Poker is sooooo much more fun :-)
They have a restaurant located inside in case you need a bite to fuel your late night fun.
The casino is always clean and the staff welcoming.

Okay, I admit it, heading for a casino makes my heart beat a little faster. Apex is a small casino, dependent on locals for their business, and thus their staff is all welcoming and friendly.
I’m sad that their all-​night poker room succumbed to the lure of more slot machines. Not that I ever dropped in at 3 a.m. or anything, but they were constantly running little tournaments in the early evening and one of the dealers even talked me into becoming a tourney rat! For a very small buy-​in, you had several hours of fun and socializing, and they even offered free lessons in advance in table etiquette and strategy. Sadly, i guess it wasn’t profitable in the long run, but I am glad I got to experience it in such a non-​threatening environment.
Table games (which are limited) usually start at noon, slots are available earlier. If you’re a Vegas or Reno fan, you’ll recognize many of the slots from 15 or 20 years ago, but they do get newer ones on occasion. Just for fun, try the Little Shop of Horrors or Plants vs. Zombies for amusing bonus activity.
There’s a restaurant inside which I’ve not yet tried, but will review when I do. Free musical entertainment on weekends, and a monthly birthday party with prize drawings if you get a membership card (free).

Like every other casino but with even brighter lights in a smaller space. Food is just OK but the staff are actually really friendly. Bonus points for a cute security guard.
