Prices aren’t all that cheap, server was fast enough but kitchen is quite slow getting food out even though it was pretty quiet, 11 a.m. on a Wed. Food quantity was on the light side and quality was just okay. I really object to almost $ 3 for a cup of not great coffee on top of $ 12 for basic bacon and eggs. Not sure I would bother going back. Value for what we got wasn’t great.

Stopped here for the first time since moving to St. Albert one year ago. We had heard from some people that there breakfast is very good. We had dinner there and I had the veal and my wife had spinach ravioli. Unfortunately the meal was not very good and we left just about all our meal on the plate then we paid and left. We will not be going back! Service was good but very slow!

Solid breakfast joint. We had eggs Benny on a Sunday afternoon. They had no issues with a few substitutions I made and it was a solid size taste plate of food. Coffee refill were quick and plenty. Place is clean and friendly. The rest of the menu looked pretty yummy too. Lots of home cooking dishes. Plenty of parking and easy to access. No complaints from me.

If you are looking for fast service don’t eat here. The food is good and reasonably priced but it took 10 min to get our order placed.

great breakfast menu. portions were plentiful, food was well cooked. There was a line up at 10am, a good sign of a good breakfast place. Staff was friendly, coffee refills plentiful

My favorite breakfast place in town! Always consistent. Very busy place so give your self plenty of time. Can take a while to be seated. Good for lunch and dinner too but breakfast is defiantly the best!

This place has gone downhill. Water down coffee and terrible quality food. This was my go to place for breakfast in St. Albert, but it has declined to the quality of a continental breakfast at a cheap hotel.

Diner style breakfast… It’s the best — I rate it over Cora’s any day! Small town vibe in St. Albert! Full of regulars — happy people /great breakfast!

Socrates is pretty hit & miss. It’s been that way at least for the last 5 years. We went for lunch on Saturday around 1:30. The restaurant was fairly full, but no wait for a table. The redheaded hostess who«greeted» us definitely needs some customer service training. I was pretty sure that she hated her job based on her body language, lack of eye contact and no smiling. When she took us to our table and poured my mom her coffee, she spilled the coffee all over my menu. She saw it and said«oops» then walked away. I assumed she was going to get a cloth to wipe it off, but she came back and put my glass of water on the table then walked away again! So, we shared a menu because mine honestly had a pool on it. When the waitress came by to take our order, we had to ask for a cloth to wipe the booth down because it was pretty filthy. I also pointed out the pool of coffee on my menu. she took our order, took the dirty menu away, and seemed to dismiss the request for a cloth as she walked away without acknowledging it. However, she returned promptly with a cloth and offered to wipe it down for us. The waitress was generally pleasant, although she did not check on us during the meal at all, and when she dropped the food off, she didn’t ask if we needed anything else. However, she came back to top off the coffee(but even then, did not ask how everything was). The food was delicious and everything was cooked perfectly. And we were sitting close enough to the waitress station that we could have flagged her down if anything was in fact wrong or missing. The blonde hostess who ended up taking my payment was much more pleasant than the first one, and I left the restaurant feeling full and happy. Sadly, this was the best visit we’ve had here in quite a while, which doesn’t say too much :(And because of that, I can’t bring myself to give more than 3 stars. But we’ll be back.

We went for a sunday breakfast. No lineup. We believe it was the owner that greeted us. But right after she grabbed the menu… another couple came in… the owner walked right past us. said a big hello to the obvious friends of hers. and proceeded to seat them prior to us. Now we were seated right after… but as both my husband and myself have been in the service industry for over30yrs each… this is a horrible way to treat any customer… will never go back and will tell anyone about situation. Does not matter that our waitress was extremely good and friendly.1st impressions are everything

Sat for over an hour, three tables next to us were seated for fifteen minutes and were served. Asked for water twice and never got any. When the waitress came by and said it was going to be a while longer, we mentioned the long wait and she immediately argued. We then said we were going to leave and she said to bad what ever. Was an older waitress. Horrible service.

Friendly service. Good food. I like the breakfast special with pancakes. U get 2 gianormous pancakes with some bacon and eggs. A great deal. And super filling. Location is great on the trail over the hill. A favourite for coworkers after a long night shift.

We have eaten here several times and have always had good results. It is a great«go to» restaurant when you are not sure what you want to eat as there is great variety on the menu. The portions of the food are generous, it is tasty and fresh, and consistently good. The staff are excellent here. They always seem friendly, and seem to enjoy working there. No complaints at all. We go here about once every 1 – 2 months and have yet to have a bad experience. Highly recommended!

This is a nice family restaurant, nothing spectacular, but solid service, good food, and reasonable prices. It’s a bit far for me to come from South Edmonton, but if I’m already in St. Albert with the family, it’s a good destination if we’re hungry. I’ve never been here when they’ve been really busy, but the service in the off times was spectacular. Attentive, but not annoying, and they catered to the kids and were generally happy to see families.

This is my favorite brunch spot in St Albert and even all of Edmonton. It has a classic diner appeal. So classic that me and my brunch guest thought it felt similar to Pulp Fiction diner, and we sat in the same spot! «Hunny Bunny… All right, everybody be cool, this is a robbery. Any of you f$#@ing pricks move, and I’ll execute every muthaf$#@ing last one of ya!» Sooo classic!!! Anyways the food has never let me down so go ahead and order anything you like. I usually only go for brunch or breakfast so don’t quote me on the dinners. A few things to remember… Sunday Brunch doesn’t last all day but they do have omlettes that go all day. The best thing is the home fries which are crisp on the outside but soft and warm on the inside. Get a seat by the booth and replay Pulp Fiction quotes and it’ll be as memorable as it is for me!

The breakfast special until 11AM on weekdays is great value considering tea that costs $ 225 or more by itself, or coffee, is included in the $ 7.25 price for two eggs, sausages or bacon, hash browns and toast. If you order egg whites only, they will literally give you a quantity that is the contents of two eggs without the yolks, so order four eggs if you want the gross quantity of two eggs. The additional eggs I believe are $ 150 each. Service is acceptable to good, depending on the server. Apparently the server gets your money and they in turn pay the restaurant.

There’s a reason that Socrates has been voted«Best Breakfast» in St. Albert by the local newspaper for years and years in a row. Lots of parking, plenty of seating, and the coffee is always nice and hot. It’s a very big breakfast menu. I ordered my favourite, the waffles, with one of my besties(we have a long-standing waffle tradition). You can order the waffles as part of a larger breakfast combo with sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast for less than $ 13. Plus, fresh strawberries and whippped cream on top! Whenever I’m back in my hometown, this is the only spot I go for breakfast, period.

Great little Mom & Pop family diner. They were voted best breakfast in St. Albert last year and their busy weekend mornings with lines out the door are proof! I found their food average for a breakfast diner — they have great weekday breakfast specials before 10am. The service is always efficient and friendly! I’ve never tried them for lunch or dinner… I’ll Unilocal about it when I do! If you are looking for breakfast in St. Albert — this is a great place with that Mom & Pop feel!

Great service and awesome food! Their breakfast was great. I was shocked at how busy it was, they had a line up going out the door. Made me realize how amazing the place really was. It is a family run business and again I love that. They actually care about their customers satisfaction. I wish there were more places like this in Edmonton.

I’ve been meeting my parents at this restaurant for several years now. It is the brunch hot spot in St. Albert. Every Sunday morning and early afternoon there’s a lineup of people eager to eat and socialize. The line may look daunting but the staff are very efficient. Pretty much anything you order on the brunch menu is really good. They also have specials which are worth checking out. I’ve eaten here for dinner, too and the food is great. They boast the best prime rib in town. The staff are very friendly and efficient. They keep the coffee flowing during brunch.
