Courtyard St. John’s Newfoundland

It’s all about the people. This property has some of the best hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. While everyone was polite, knowledgable, and helpful, the front desk folks really shone. I got great suggestions on restaurants, tours, walks, and even a laundromat.
The property is well-​maintained and clean. It is located within easy walking distance (2 – 5 minutes) from most of Water Street, and the restaurants, pubs, etc. of downtown St Johns. There is also hotel parking just across the street.
The bar faces the harbor, or, since this is a review of a Canadian establishment, harbour. The bar staff were just like the front desk staff –helpful and friendly. The view… The bar faces the docks, and the bar has two pairs of binoculars. You can watch ships coming into the harbor and the supply boats (docked right in front of you) loading and unloading. I could watch for hours!
This is the best of value, location, and expectations. Most heartily recommended.

Das Zimmer war gut aufgeräumt und
sauber, diverse Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind schnell mit einem Spaziergang von
ca. 5 bis 10 Min. erreicht, Leider ist das Frühstück recht teuer und bietet
keine große Auswahl so das wir uns entschlossen hatten unseren Hunger bei Tim Hortons
um die Ecke zu stillen.
Der WLAN-​Zugang ist recht schnell und kostet auch nicht
Extra.
Bei meiner Dienstreise im kommenden Jahr werde ich wohl wieder dort übernachten.

When it comes to hotels I look for just a few things. A clean, comfortable room. Free wifi that’s relatively quick. A workout room that’s decent. This spot hits most of those, but what it misses on it makes up for in other ways.
First up, the location is fantastic. It’s right across the street from the harbor. I was fortunate enough to get a harbor view room, which I just loved. It’s also steps from the heart of downtown and George St.
The wifi is free and relatively quick. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The exercise room? Well — that left a bit to be desired. There were two treadmills which I appreciated, but the only distractor was a shared TV that wasn’t easily viewable from most of the cardio equipment.
All of that said, I was very pleased with my stay here.

very convenient hotel, right off the harbor. convenient to public transportattion, and far enough away from George St. to be pretty quiet. Rooms are spacious, free wifi. parking across the street. Only complaints, they don’t have a deck facing the harbor, which would be exclusive and very beautiful, and the public spaces could use more attention. But compared to the Sheraton just up the street, it’s a good value
