Good food in good portions. I had the club wrap with homemade, very creamy mushroom soup. Tasty and filling. The servers were very busy, but still took time to chat with diners.

No matter how lovely the food, or homely the environment… Nothing can make up for how unacceptably slow service is here. The owners seem to think ½ servers can handle the customers coming through. If you’re going to see a show, expect to wait a long time on that bill. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve skipped this restaurant because I couldn’t afford to wait for the bill. It’s not the servers fault. It’s how understaffed it is here. I’m writing this review while waiting to order a takeout muffin. Jeez.

We used to think this place was a solid 3.5, but after tonight, it’s a 1. No doubt. Arrived to be informed that All Day Breakfast doesn’t mean all day. Ok, whatever. But, the chef can make a basic breakfast if we want. Great. Thanks for doing one thing on your all day breakfast menu — two poached eggs, home fries and toast. That was the Mrs. order. I got the steak sandwich on a kaiser, with homefries. 40 Minute wait. 4 or 5 tables seated after us eat and pay before we get our food. My Kaiser was a hamburger bun from the bottom of the bag, squished flat. My steak, six or seven two inch strips of meat chopped up with a handful of raw pepper pieces and two onion rings on it. No BBQ sauce. Half as many homefries as what came with the wife’s eggs, which were at least done and hot, unlike the toast which the butter couldn’t melt on. Never once were drinks refreshed. When asked how the food was, we commented on the portion of the steak sandwich($ 14.25 for $ 2.50 of steak) I was told«It’s the kind of steak» to which I said, «well, it sure isn’t the kind of bun». Waitress went to check with the boss said«He’s busy with catering, but will look into it» then slammed the bill on the table — nothing taken off. After waiting a few more minutes she yelled across the restaurant at us «Do you need the debit machine». Needless to say, no tip and no going back. This place is for sale, no one will buy it as it is, and I can’t see its reputation is worth a nickel.

Popped in for for a late lunch/early supper on our way to the cottage over the weekend. We beat the theatre crowd, so the place was pretty empty. We were greeted immediately, orders taken soon after. I had their turkey dijon wrap which was a little on the dry side for my tastes, it could have used more dijon, but otherwise delicious. Side of roasted beet salad(upcharge for a premium salad) was super yummy and would recommend it to any beet lovers. The other half had a pulled turkey sandwich that he just about inhaled(I think he liked it) with a side of fries. All in all, a I would definitely go back — seems like a great place serving familiar and tasty food.

Had a great tuna melt sandwich and beef and barley soup was delicious. Great place for lunch in Stratford. Staff was very friendly.

Went here for lunch today with some friends and ordered the asparagus, mushroom swiss quiche with a side of on of their featured daily soups, homemade creamy asparagus soup(there was a choice between soup or fries). The food was delicious. The quiche was creamy and delicious though I found that the crust of the bottom of the quiche was a bit soggy. My quiche was also at room temperature and I wish it was a bit warmer especially since it was a cold rainy day. However, the creamy asparagus soup came out nice and warm. The soup was very flavourful. I’m very sensitive to salty foods so I did find the soup to be a bit salty. However, to be fair I think their soup was seasoned well and the salt level was pretty low compared to most soups served at other restaurants. The large chunks of asparagus in the soup also satisfied a veggie lover like me! The service was very friendly. Our food came all at the same time and relatively fast, about 15 minutes. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very warm and cozy. The restaurant was fairly quiet, there were about 5 other tables tables that were seated. Our bill was also conveniently ready for us when we asked for it. I will definitely be coming here again, especially to try their baked goods. On a side note, I originally wanted to order the Asparagus, chicken and brie crêpe but unfortunately, they were out of crepes… so I guess I’ll be back to try that too!

An excellent experience for our quick breakfast today. Lots of available seating. We had coffee and chose a scone each. There are many creative muffin and scone options — my husband had the raspberry almond and I had the cheddar. The scones came toasted and buttered with many jams to choose from. It was divine. Balanced flavor, just delicious — I didn’t take a single bite of my husband’s scone, which is unusual :) They have an extensive menu for breakfast — we’re planning on returning for the eggs Benedict tomorrow(many options, with spinach, asparagus etc.). Service was friendly and quick!

Service for us was friendly, fast, and super-accommodating. We had about 20 mins to grab a bite before dashing off to the theatre. Our server made sure that we got our food, covered our bill, and made it in time to see our play. The scones were buttery perfection! I tried the date and orange scone, and it was fresh and filling. And cheap too! Two scones and a very hearty soup came out to about $ 8. This place was recommended by a very nice local we met outside. My friend and I were looking for a place for a quick bite and were just about to step into another café. The local asked us what we were looking for, said the original place we chose would take too long, and pointed us to Let Them Eat Cake instead. She was right! Let Them Eat Cake is also sponsor for SpringWorks, an independent theatre festival, so they also support their local community and the arts. Great service, great food, great prices, and generous hearts! I wish I lived closer to Let Them Eat Cake so I could come here every day!

Had lunch here. Had the berries and brie salad, partner had breakfast sandwich. Both were good and filling. Services was okay, and food was plentiful even if it wasn’t the best. Basically, good amount for price.

Went here for breakfast once and I never wanted to come back, came back with friends for breakfast, still didn’t like it. To top that the services is slow, and the place is dated.

I went to this restaurant at their old location last year when I was in Stratford, and it was good enough that I wanted to return. They have since moved to a new, larger location on Albert Street, next to the Albert Hotel. I have to say, although they have increased their size, it does not seem as if they have increased their staff. Everyone working when I was there was running around. Tables were left uncleared for long periods of time, and there was a significant wait to hail someone down to fill up our coffee cups. That being said, when we did get their attention they were VERY sweet. This is definitely a really friendly place. The breakfast was what you would expect. We both ordered«The Usual» — two eggs, toast, home fries and choice of meat side. It was good, but not mind blowing. Of course, what did I expect when I ordered the usual! All in all a good option for breakfast. They have lovely fresh scones they bake in house as well. $ 9 for 6 in case you want to take them home(or some a little extra you can sub them in for your toast with your breakfast)

Great spot to grab a bite to eat before seeing a performance at the Stratford Festival — or whenever you’re in town. I had a monte cristo with a greek pasta salad on the side. I expressed my dislike of olives to our server and despite the salad being pre-mixed & I was all prepared to be picking out those evil black things, mine came sans olives. Nice. I found the sammich a bit heavy on the ham, but I’m a bit ‘less is more’ in that regard. The gooey cheese and fluffy battered bread was delicious & made the meal very satisfying. My lunchmates took advantage of the all day breakfast and had no complaints. After salivating over the desserts on display during our lunch, we returned after our show to take some home(½ price to boot! — not sure if this is a daily deal or not, though). This café definitely has local regulars, but out of towners can easily feel at home because the staff is super friendly. I just wish this place was in London. I would be a regular for sure. (review of a April ’09 visit, so a bit fuzzy on details… still remember it was delicious, though! hee!)
