Came here for dinner after a day spent at castle fin park. Wanted to avoid places by Guildford, because we were hungry and felt those places will have long waits. Service was okay I guess. Server checked up on us once and while. Food could have been way better. I always say Earls a step up from Cactus Club and milestones and expected better food. We ordered Spinach Dip for starters, wasn’t much of a dip. It was like a paste. The menu said it was served with flat bread, what we got looked like bread sticks sliced. I ordered the chicken tenders, tenders were small but filling on their own. The fries were salty as McDonald’s fries. I guess the fry cook just left their job there for earls. Probably will come back just for Beer. You can’t screw beer up.

Went here for a birthday party. Took the server half an hour to bring WATER. Our food took two hours to bring. No communication at all. When we flagged down another server he said that the kitchen was backed up… yet the tables around us that came in AFTER us ate and left before I could even get a refill. We requested to speak to the manager and they insisted to pay first. The manager finally got to our table and gave the same lame excuses and a half hearted apology. She offered refunds in the form of gift cards but never came back!!! You would think with milestones and browns opening in the same area, Earl’s would pick their game up. This was the absolute worst dining experience I’ve ever had. If I’m paying«premium» for a decent dinner, I expect to get what I’m paying for. Safe to say we’re never going back.

I drove to this location bc it’s nostalgically in my old neighborhood… mistake. The one hostess at the front is highly intuitive. She picked up that something was wrong right away and came over. My chicken wonton appy was cold and the wontons were stale. The waitress had the nerve to tell me she JUST picked it up from the kitchen. It wasn’t fresh I sent it back. I should have known when I saw the mint was wilted in my mojito. *sigh* TIP: take pride in your craft. Otherwise move aside. FYI: Robson location still is the best for service, ambiance and food. I wasn’t given water either. Jeez. Update: Try the new warm Kale salad it is good.

It seems like every location I eat at in Guilford has horrible food. I love Earl’s in Vancouver. In Surrey and just about anywhere else but not in Guilford. I always get the Prawn Dynamite Rolls when I go to Earls. They’re just known for them. This would have to be my second time having a bad experience with them at that particular location hence I’m leaving a review and warning any others who like that dish. The meat is never cooked well there, the rolls are always falling apart and there is always a bland taste to them at this location. Any other location I’ve gone to I’ve had great experiences but not at this one.

On Thursday Nov. 26/15, myself, my daughter and a friend visiting from Alberta, went to the Guilford Earls for lunch. We arrived at approx 1pm and sat ourselves in the lounge, it was not very busy maybe 6 tables in lounge area that were mostly paying and maybe 12 tables in main restaurant. We waited maybe 2 min for server to take our drink order. We ordered a raspberry margarita, bottle of bud and a Caesar it took 8 min and 37 seconds to receive drinks(too long). I’m going to give you some background on who we are, I owned a bar for 4 years and was the GM for 10 and a server for 5 years, my daughter has been a server for the past 4 years and my visiting friend is a chef. So between the three of us we have a world of experience. Once receiving our drinks the server took our food order ceasar salad, wings, chicken and wontons and shrimp gyoza. I noticed the my friends margarita was on the rocks, which I thought strange as she did not order on the rocks. She then licked the SUGAR rim only to realize it was salt. When server stopped in to check on us I asked do you no longer blend margaritas, she confirmed this had changed 6 months ago. I then pointed out the rim was salted, which she responded all margarita rims are salted. I then told her that she was incorrect and maybe she could check with bar manager, which she snottely replied I will. She never got back to us on that point. After my friend had a couple of sips of her margarita she noticed the glass was filthy and had a chip out of the rim. She immediately took to bartender showed him the chip and filth of the glass he offered to make a new one, she said that would be fine, but can you please sugar the rim not salt, he appeared confused but agreed. I than watched him take that chipped glass and place back into the glass washer to been cleaned and I’m guessing used again. We received our food 26 min 33 seconds after receiving our drinks. At this point we had realized that the mason jar style glass that my daughters caesar was in had a very large chip in the side where she could have seriously cut herself. I am now so very angry at the lack of care taken by Earls, that I ask our server to speak to a manager. The manager arrives I tell her about the chipped margarita glass, and now the chip Caesar glass, and also mention that 6 months ago I was in there establishment and witnessed a server lick a straw and put back into the drink she had taken it from and then proceeded to serve it to a customer. I told manager that I was leary coming in after the licked straw incident but thought give you a chance. She starred at my like a deer caught in the head lights, I continued to point out the two broken glasses, that one had been placed in the glass washer, and still she stared she did offer to replace the Caesar but at this point we had had enough, she did state that the margarita would be taken off bill. I also told her that the server was terrible and for what we were paying they should be better, and that her crappy service and chipped glasses, and drinks salted would be reflected in her tip. And still the manager stood and starred I was so angry at this point I instructed her to leave my table. I also informed her that I would be contacting the head office. The manager walked away and then proceeded to inform all staff that were near her about my complaint. I have spent many years in the hospitality business and I understand her frustration but next time she should not disrespect the customer where they can see her and hear her. We then tried to eat our overpriced lunch that was sub par, Caesar salad was wiilty and had a strong flavour of anchovies and no garlic, the chicken and wontons had a teaspoon of sauce and were dry, and the shrimp gyoza was baby food. The server came over, only the third time we have seen her, to attempt to apologize by exampling herself. I did not want to hear anymore excuses and asked for our bill. Which in my opinion should not have existed at this point. In closing I am guessing you will not respond to this complaint, but understand that I will make sure that every social media outlet I can contact about this disgusting experience will hear about it. Customer service should be priority, it saddens me to see places like yours continue to exist and treat people poorly. Understand the last time I had a bad experience eating out was at this location 6 mos ago. Maybe you should hire based on experience and personality. Stupid and ignorant can’t be trained away.

I thought Earl’s was supposed to be somewhat of an upscale /hip place. The prices are upscale but the food, service and décor was mediocre. First, the chairs were coming apart at the seams, the drywall was chipped and paint scrapes everywhere. It felt like I was in a dungeons hollow closet. The service, I had to get up off my chair and go into the serving area to ask to have our order taken. Afterwards we sat for way to many minutes waiting for our dirty plates to be taken away. I even had to ask for utensils after my food even arrived. It was my mom’s birthday not only did they not offer a complimentary dessert, the waiter didn’t even ask us if we wanted any at all. Oh and when it was apparent that my shirt was similar to the waiters, he made a comment that he wore his only because he had to for work. Not a good start to make a negative inference towards the customers taste in clothing. The place was likely under staffed since other guests were walking up to pay their bill and gather left overs; something that should have been attended to at their table. Moreover, other tables were empty with dirty dishes even after we left. Anyway, the food quality was way over priced and my noodle dish was swamped with soy sauce and salt. I had to remove the food from the bowl to avoid eating it like soup. The ribs were nothing special too. We were not even offered wet naps or a bowl of lemon water for finger cleaning. All in all save your money and go to a local family owned restaurant to avoid feeling like you spent your hard earned money on an awful all around dining experience. Oh one more thing, they obviously have sexist hiring practices because every waitress met the same model. ..

Skip this place. Went in and sat at the bar to grab a beer and a bite. I will say the server behind the bar was very friendly and the service I received was great. However after sitting at the bar for a few minutes I noticed a large number of small flies swarming around. I’d say a dozen of them flying around the bar. Small like fruit flies. I moved to a table slightly away from the bar but still in the bar area. Helped but didn’t completely solve the problem. I was told this has been an ongoing problem. On to the food. I ordered a steak hoping the food would make up for these annoying little flies but I’d rate the steak as average at best. For the price I expected better quality. Wasn’t very tender and was a bit tough and as a result I didn’t finish it. Maybe sitting away from the bar and ordering something else would be better but based on my visit tonight, I won’t go back.

Always reliable, good service, friendly staff, this location is always hopping! We don’t recommend the patio — stay in the bar area, but be prepared for boisterous conversations around you!

Place was pretty quiet on a weeknight. Once I saw the«Royale with Cheese» on the menu, I knew I had to order it. Great burger in every respect, even if my picture doesn’t do it justice. Truffle fries and house salad complemented very well. Beer selection is okay, but the full bar options are pretty good. Service was relaxed and friendly. If you didn’t feel old before, you will when the servers walk up to take your order.

2÷3÷156:00pm The food and service here is pretty good and consistent with other Earl’s locations I’ve been to. My problem is with the bartender. I ordered a double Bombay Saphire martini on the rocks, just a little dirty. Apparently this wasn’t ok. Watching the bartender slosh and shake the drink repeatedly with the purpose of showing his displeasure with the order, pouring it arrogantly into the glass and slamming ice into it before jamming 3 olive in to remove some of the watered down drink, made me take notice. Then there was the shared laugh between server and pourer. I continued to quietly sit in my booth as I had done the hour before, but with disappointment. I ask for very little, keep to myself and am extremely patient as a former bartender. But I don’t sit in a quiet booth to make and arrogant barkeep look cool. Comb your hair on your own time and just make the drinks your paying customers ask for. Thanks to you, the waitress received no tip on the beverages. But if she would have had the guts to give me my bill herself instead of sending somebody else it would have been explained and she would have been given her share.

The service is good, and the food is always good! They have always accommodated our big groups. They even have a small room with a curtain for privacy — it holds up to 12 people. Get the cajun blackened chicken!

Food was great. They make some great mohitos. Had the apple pecan salad with goat cheese. Service was so painstakingly slow because they were understaffed on a Saturday night. Asked for an avocado to add to my salad but it didn’t come until I was almost finished so a bit of a disappointment. Glad we had a gift card so we didn’t pay with our own money. Won’t be coming back.

This is the place to kick it with your buddies. The food is awesome, service is good and the music makes the atmosphere feel more electric and fun. The burger I ordered came out perfect, we also ordered tacos which tasted quite like what tacos are supposed to be! Beef, cilantro, onions, hot sauce and lettuce!

I’ve visited Guildford Earls for a late lunch/early dinner twice in the last month. Both times I’ve been won over by the food but extremely disappointed in the service. Our group was stuck in a corner table that was completely forgotten about numerous times. When we wanted to order off the appie-hour menu, the waitress curtly told us that we had to be in the lounge to order. Nevermind the fact that there were only 4 other people in the restaurant side, but this is ridiculous! We ended up moving, now sitting in a cramped booth with the 5 of us. Service on the lounge side was mediocre. Our waitress took away our plates when there was still food on it! We felt like we were being rushed. I’ll go back for the food but do intend to speak to the manager if this poor level of service keeps up.

My second attempts at an Earls. You know its comes off as a real fancy place. Be honest I think it’s totally over rated. This time was empty maybe 3 other customers. Food was ok I enjoyed a burger but it wasn’t something I can rave about. Requested parm sauce and took its time I had to request it a second time. If you don’t have that many customers on a weekday then I suggest more attention should be made to the ones you have. New England Calm Chowder with sweet peas and carrots Yah not really found. New England Calm Chowder is simple.

As a chain upscale restaurant, each location tries to have the same feel across each restaurant, yet this location in the lounge area as well as the patio, always seems to surpass my expectations in being a cozy yet chic place to go for drinks and a snack with friends, colleagues or for a mid-day lunch. This an Earls test kitchen, where they often change their menu to add new items. It is always a great meal, with cheerful servers. Unlike other restaurants, the servers actually seem interested in chit chatting with each table, rather than the standard cordial responses and vague disinterest that other restaurants can have. The kitchen here is wonderful, and is able to make each of their menu dishes consistently the same, while still being tasty.

Good Olé Earle’s I have been to pretty much every Earles between here and back east(literaly) and There are a couple of things I can comment on, #1. Black dresses & the prettiest girls of that town in them. #2. Good food, consistent quality. #3. Always a bit loud #4. Always busy. Formula seems to work, as I seem to keep coming back.
