Fox & Fiddle

First time here. Walking in you get the feeling that it is going to be very expensive but it’s not. Service was fast and friendly. I ended up having the Beef & Guinness pot pie and I was was left feeling full and happy. I will definitely return!

Good food, but took way too long. They suggested it got busy, I thought you’d plan for this.
Still a good atmosphere though.

Bad service and cold food. So yeah maybe they could hire additional wait staff. But how difficult is it to actually touch a table. We were seated quickly and menus and drinks brought pretty quickly. Then… Nothing. I finally had to go ask if this was just a slow neck of the world. No it isn’t. Once our order was placed, again a really long wait. So long that hot food was lukewarm at best.
Just say no. Even if you are tired and staying next door. The micro food in the hotel pantry is a better deal. Or get back in your car and drive a block down the road.
So… Avoid.

Fox and Fiddle is great pub fare! Hey, it’s attached to a Hampton Inn — what are you expecting? It really is solidly GOOD food for its type of cuisine. I had the greek salad which consistently was DELISH; the wings… eh, not so much (for me). Service was fine, it was clean and friendly. I’d definitely stop in again if I was in the area!

Wow. Really awful. This venue was chosen for my staggette. We had a table in the leaky patio. There were 20 of us. We alternated going on a scavenger hunt with a half hour limit. At one point the manager came in and said if the 4 people who were away from the table were not back in «2 minutes» they would remove their drinks and clear the table. The menu was boring. Also a $ 5 cover charge was added to a select few of us. My friend went to a lot of trouble arranging this event and bringing 20 people to your pub, she was also treated rudely. First and last visit to Fox and Fiddle.

We came into our hotel (next door) rather late and were starving. We weren’t too familiar with the area so we decided to check it out. Prior to coming here, I read the Unilocal reviews and wasn’t too thrilled about it.
We were promptly greeted and sat at a table. The waitress was very friendly, but she seemed overwhelmed by the amount of tables she was serving, which in return made the waiting times a lot longer for food. Why is that a problem? Because our appetizers came out cold. The portions were big, but no good if they’re cold.
Our dinners followed afterwards, but we were at the point where we just wanted to leave already because we were so tired from being there waiting on our food. The food was okay and the prices were reasonable, but they could use better service.

So hubby and I are in a hotel attached to this place.
First impression not great $ 5.00 cover charge to get in as there was a fight on. Hubby did complain about that and they let us in for free. They were selective about who they charged. That was disappointing!
THE GOOD
The server was very good, although the bar was busy she was awesome.
The food was nice, hot and fast!
We had a great evening In there with lots of alcohol flowing the bill came to $ 165 inc tip. We had shots, beers and cocktails so to be expected.

I wish I could give a big fat zero star for this place! We first visited shortly after they opened and were so turned off by the utter lack or service and sub standard quality of food we vowed never to return.
We were invited out to dinner by friends that chose this place and even though we vowed never to return we figured things must have changed in the year plus since we were last there. Boy were we wrong!!! They were not busy (maybe 3 tables for our server) yet our server was not to be found. The food took forever and was barely average tasting. I guess the food took so long because they had to place hair in it before serving it to our table! After 15 min of trying to get the attention of our server to inform her of the add on to our dish her only response was «oh, ummm, ya… so do you want another?». No thank you!!! We even had to ask to have it removed from the bill since there were only 3 – 4 bites eaten.
Simply hopeless is the only way to describe this place. I feel bad for anyone staying at the hotel and having that place as a choice. Save yourself the hair and go to McD’s or ABC down the street!

Came here for a fundraiser. $ 22 got me a burger and beer and severe indigestion
The burger is a frozen preformed patty on a sesame bun with mayo a quarter leaf of lettuce, a small tomato slice and HALF a pickle slice.
Fryer wasn’t hot enough so the frozen fries were soggy with oil.

Completely acceptable!
Seriously, it was a completely acceptable experience with completely acceptable service and completely acceptable prices for completely acceptable food. I doubt anyone will list it as the highlight of their trip, but it was a completely acceptable distance from our completely acceptable hotel. That’s awes err acceptable!
Oh, the Mac’n’Cheese was really really good. More than acceptable, in fact — but that must be balanced against the burger which was merely OK.

Decent Food, Nice Décor… if you can, sit in the area where the Male server is working. Otherwise it might be a little slow. Wednesdays are half price chicken wings, although, they don’t have «per wing» pricing, just «per pound». Of the lower mainland pubs, they have some of the better wings. Good size, and a decent assortment of flavors. If you like ‘em really hot though, this may not be the place for you. Their hot is fairly mild.
