Izumo Sushi Japenese Restaurant

The restaurant is much bigger than it appears from the street. It has nice modern décor and comfortable booth seating, which I find rare in Surrey. The service was fast and courtesy, but not too aggressive, and we were served tea from the moment we were seated.
The sushi and yakisoba was delicious.
I like that the menu explains ingredients in details. Because usually when I go to a sushi place, they never explain what is in the sushi, they just expect you to know Japanese, so glad to see some forethought.

Absolutely gross! The fish is not fresh. I tried their BC combo and tried 2 out of the 10 pieces included and had to pay the full amount even though it was disgusting! I would not recommend this place.

Considering the place is a tiny little restaurant situated between some shabby looking stores, it’s pretty damn amazing. The staff are all super friendly, the food is plentiful and delicious, and the restaurant itself is very clean and well kept. Definitely check it out if you are in the area and feel like some delicious sushi! I also recommend the chicken Katsu. It comes with rice and a salad, and was far more food than I was expecting!

Ordered the california combo. It was ok. Nothing special. Not very crowded during lunch time. Service was fast.

Went for a family dinner. Nothing special about this place, very average food. Average service. I found the rice portions in the rolls overwhelming… The ratio was way off.

It is my third time I came to this sushi place. First twice was just fine in quality and quantity. This time, sushi was literally cut in half in lenthwise. Not only one piece, ika amd tuna especially!!!
Saba was as if somebody ate and left over… I almost said to the customers who were coming in as I was having meal at the restaurant, not to come in.
I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. I just gave one star just because I cannot give zero rating.

Road up on my bike to try a takeout lunch. BC Combo for $ 10.99. There was no where out front to leave or even lock my bike to… So I opened the front door and walked right in with it. Waitress looked over and back to the customers she was serving. When she was done she came over with a big smile as I was apologizing for the bike and she said «No problem at all… BC combo pickup?» I was out the door 60 seconds later and riding back to my office. Needless to say… the lunch was as great as the friendly service.

This is a diamond in the rough for sure

my fav was the Spicy tuna sashimi– chunks of tuna and chunks of cucumber in this awesome hot sauce was sooo good– good portion size too
gyoza and tofu and rolls were great too
staff were friendly and checked back on tea and how it was.

The salmon and tuna sashimi were some of the best I’ve had. Awesome food and very reasonably priced.

On a Friday ngiht outing in Whally we decided to go to Izumo Sushi to see what Whalley has to offer in the form of sushi.
Very clean and quiet place to eat with some J-​pop (Japanese pop music) playing while we were sitting and contemplating on what to order.
The food here is like any other sushi place with nothing too special really, maki rolls, cone rolls, sashini, and bento boxes.
The dinner boxes were around $ 12.95 10 $ 14.95 depending on what items you wanted in them, it also includes teryaki beef or chicken on rice, California rolls or sashimi, veggie sunomono, 5 pieces of tempura, and a salad «the chef special» seemed like whatecerwas leftover in the kitchen which just happened to be edamame, it was good regardless.
Service on the other hand was strange, the waitress was polite and friendly but after we ordered our food we never saw her again as she did not refill our tea, asked how any of the food was, and when we did see her she was sitting at a table eating noodles with her friend. It took 15 minutes for the bill to come to us and when it arrived the chef behind the sushi bar gave it to us. My brother said to the chef «the food was excellent» only for the chef to give all three of us there a very unusual look.
Hard to say if I would come back as the food was run of the mill sushi and the service was absent at times

The sushi here reminds me of the delicious sushi from Southern California. The variety of the roles is great, they taste even better and the price is very reasonable. I have been here twice now and will be back many more times. I highly recommend their sushi rolls. I may venture to try something else on the menu, but I am definitely satisfied with my experience there.

One of the best sushis I’ve ever had. I mean you say eatery is good, this place is waaaaay better! Totally recommended, in fact I’m gonna go have some tonight again lol

Best Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in Surrey, the tuna & salmon sashimi is always good, and the portion size is excellent for the price. Always take my out of town guests there, only complaint I would have is they’re not open on Sundays.
