Fukuda Sushi

We ordered from here for the first time tonight. The food was amazing, the prices are reasonable. Delivery was fast. Overall we were very happy. Try the fukuda roll!

Disgusting customer service. Never ordering from here again. Served us fish when we ordered vegan, screamed at me over the phone blaming me, demanded proof and wouldn’t let us see a receipt.

We were the only customers at 8:30pm. I ordered udon and was told by staff that no more udon was left so they used ramen noodles instead. My bowl of noodles tasted alright. It was not the worse bowl of noodles I have ever had. There was the standard toppings of chicken, egg, veggies and tempura.
While eating, I saw a couple customers pick up their take out orders. It seems more of a take out joint as the area is somewhat sketchy at night.
When it came to my table paying, we were told that the internet was down so that they can not take any credit card. I saw other customers paying with cards and our server had begun doing the cash count when I was still eating my food. I also used to work in retail and the interact/​credit machine used a telephone line. Anyways, I was not impressed and thank goodness my date had cash to pay because I did not!

Don’t get anything that has raw fish in it. The raw fish was hard and the tuna smelled fishy. If you get anything else it will be good. The chicken teriyaki is exquisite.

Was craving sushi (as usual) and I was not in the mood to drive for a pick up. Never heard of this place before, but they offered free delivery so why not! Delivery was not as quick as I would like it to be, but the food was DELICIOUS AND CHEAP! Would recommend the Fukuda roll and though the spicy salmon sashimi don was spicier than other sushi places, it was really good!

Tried to order for delivery — couldn’t make it happen.
The receptionist’s attitude was horrible, didn’t understand what I was saying and half the menu items were unavailable.
I live within the delivery range and they tried to force me to order more food to fulfill the free delivery.
Avoid this place if you have self-​respect.

Everything tastes good, except the batter of the chicken karaage was quite heavy. The chicken teriyaki was decent, and so was my unagi box, for very reasonable prices. Their timetable is as sketchy as the area, closing early and opening late. Not sure if it was the food there but i got a little stomachache afterwards.

A great discovery in an otherwise sketchy neighbourhood. We ordered the sushi special where you get 22 pieces for $ 6.50. We went with combo 1 which came with a California roll, spicy tuna roll and a BC roll. Great deal! We also ordered a happy combo which is 3 items for $ 8.95. We picked the sunomono, mixed tempura and a chopped scallop roll. All were decent and tasted good. Especially with the great prices you can complain.
The only thing is that service is incredibly slow. We were there between lunch and dinner and while it was busy at the unusual time with about half the tables full, I’d hate to see how slow it gets during peak hours. By the sounds of it they do a good takeout business so I might try that next time. Regardless I came away from the meal stuffed and a happy sushi camper.

Vegan options are available, but they use a common fryer for tofu, so stay away from the tempura is you’re vegan, or allergic to seafood. Excellent veggie yakisoba!

Went based solely on the reviews.
The food was great! Had the maple roll. Great taste, and good portion size. The beef teriyaki roll was giant and really yummy! I also LOVE how they leave a giant thermos of tea at the table, no waiting for a refill.
I would definitely go back. My only suggestion is they work on their speed, it took a while for us to order and have our leftovers packed up.

Ordered the #6 sushi and maki tray with 61 pieces for $ 42.95
The sushi rolls were quite good and tasted fresh. Sashimi was good. I couldn’t seem to handle the nigiri sushi, maybe its how its supposed to taste but I did not enjoy it.
Service was good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. She even left a pot of hot tea for self-​serving refills.
The area is quite sketchy, since it is Whalley after all, but I would probably return if I ever happened to be in the area!

Update: The guys at the office decided to go back to Fukuda for another lunch.
I am generally really picky with sushi and yesterday was the day they really shined with everything. Their Fukuda sushi roll was amazing. Their don was cooked perfectly with the right amount of teriyaki.
The service was a little slow and everyone gets their food at different times but other than that, a great super cheap place we’ll be going back to.

Went here recently with the family and was really impressed! I am a real snob when it comes to sushi places, but Fukuda exceeded all of my expectations. They have a great selection of fabulous house-​rolls, all reasonably priced at $ 8 and presented BEAUTIFULLY. This is a clearly a restaurant that really takes pride in it’s food.
In total we probably ordered about 8 different rolls, as well as some sashimi, edamame and the like. Everything we had was A+.
My only complaint (and this is more just a personal preference than anything) was that their spicy-​salmon roll is a plain salmon roll with spicy-​mayo drizzled over top. My husband and I MUCH prefer when a restaurant takes the time to make the salmon itself spicy, and spare the drizzle of goopy mayo. Ah well.
We will absolutely be back!

First off, they deliver. What other sushi place does that? Awesome.
Their spicy tuna roll is so good… They have a subtle crunch to them with added tempura flakes maybe? And the «spicy» part is done with spices, not some red sauce dumped on top. It’s my favourite I’ve ever had.
For $ 20 you can get a full dinner for 2, including sashimi! Fully recommend!

Great (& cheap!) sushi and really nice staff. Definitely found a new regular sushi spot.

Another good restaurant in a bad part of town review.
I’m done with this type of review and banning myself from certain parts of town no matter how cheap or good a restaurant is supposed to be. This time a bunch of shady types yelling and climbing on tables during lunch, as usual the staff dare not say a word. Ugh

So I kept seeing this restaurant while driving to work and decided to check it out.
First thing I noticed was the workers. NOT AUTHENTIC. They are Chinese. I’ve never had sushi made from non Japanese or korean people so it was a change! The prices are super great! The previous reviews about portion size is right. Super big!!!
The server and waitress/​owner lady seem very nice and friendly. Also came by to see if we would like more tea.
We did the happy combo. You can pick 3 items from their special menu and it only costs $ 8.95!!! So my boyfriend had the beef teriyaki and I had the chicken. His seemed a bit chewy and the meat/​rice ratio was a little off but still for the price you can’t complain! The salmon tempura roll was delicious 4/​5, and I was surprised! The tempura was ³⁄₅ as it was a bit too oily. The house salad was a bit sour, too much vinegar? The miso is what killed it for me. How can anyone screw up miso soup? As Asian Canadian I’ve learned from my mom how easy it is to make. Water tofu, green onions and miso paste. This soup was water and even 3 tablespoons of soy sauce couldn’t make it non bland! But everything I rate 3.5÷5.
Close, convenient, open late and price is super cheap! I heard their delivery is super quick and they are on
, so if your in mood for larger portion sushi with a decent quality be sure to stop by!
We most definitely will be back in near future!

Didn’t have the time to prepare food so I decided to order delivery while I was handling my errands. The delivery time was much earlier than than the approximated time, which (in my opinion) was great! The food was fresh and the miso soup was HOT. I will definitely order again whenever I get the chance.
Not sure if the driver receives the tip from the online purchase tip option, so I will tip in cash next time!

Discovered this place the other day, I’ve been here twice this week. The portions are massive and the food is excellent. My friend and I both ordered the special bento box which came with teriyaki chicken 3 kinds of sushi a huge portion of tempura & miso soup. It also came with 6 massive pieces of sashimi. I’m a big guy and don’t have trouble finishing but we both barely got through half of our meals.
Service was very quick food was excellent value is great!
One thing I must say is I wish they had air conditioning as it was pretty hot inside.

Fresh, great quality, and huge portions! A friend and I tried this new place for dinner and it was a delightful surprise. Tasty and thoughtfully presented, we tried the assorted tempura (crisp, feather light, and delicious), the tuna tataki, Phili roll, and miso ramen, all at incredible value.
Sushi specials start at $ 6.50, bentos at $ 7.25, and rolls at $ 2.95. They even have free delivery!!!
This is soon to become a favorite in this newly gentrified neighborhood.
